Thud. The ghostly entity ceased movement, single hoof poised, suspended in the atmosphere, where it had been ready to lay upon the terrain once more. He waited a moment or two, breath withheld in his jaws, before laying his dag lightly upon the jagged lands.
Thud. This time he cringed, facade twisting into the perfect depiction of disgust, the grimace that took its place upon his features truly digging into his mask.
Thud. In condensed anger, the beast's neck strained and twisted, head swinging to a single side as his nares flared. With a heave of his lungs, a snort was expelled from his nasal passage, the boy's ears spinning to tack to his skull. The sound of his own heart, beating in its place, was sickening to the Shire. It's rhythm, the tune in which it thudded was all too familiar to the creature, bringing back many a memories he wished not to relive. It was not that they were horrendous - in fact, it was quite the opposite- but the emotional pain that is caused him was far worse than anything physical that he had been afflicted with. He urged his frame forward, hooves pounding upon the granite, a resounding echo ringing throughout the encompassing lands, drowning out the savage beating of his vital core organ. It was a foolish thing to do, to try and accelerate at such speeds in a place like this. Jagged, poor footing, reading to bite at the hide of any foolish beast that was incapable of keeping upright. Pebbles threatened to bring himself to his knees - which still hadn't entirely healed from his last contact with the rocks - but he resisted their pull, resisted their calling to him. As his breathing grew heavier and heavier, along with his legs, he reeled himself to a skidding halt, the boy fumbling with his own feet once again. He stood there, hunched over, skull low to the ground as he struggled to replenish his oxygen supply. A small pockmark in the rock's surface had somehow managed to gather up a puddle. It was stagnant, a visible layer or materials having had accumulated at its surface. And though pungent, his jaw sought the liquid happily. His gaze came to catch his own reflection, the boy quickly averting his eyes. It caused a wave of nauseousness to flood him, the boy taking a single stride backwards, harks pinning to his crown. The days were just getting oh so much better, huh?

Anniston carefully trotted along the rocky ground. She wasn't running this time, she knew better. The air was cold around her but it didn't bother her. In fact, she enjoyed the cooler weather as a break from the heat of the summer; though she knew the coming winter would make her wish for the warmth again. The sound of another's hooves pounding into the ground reached her ears and she paused, turning her head in the direction the noise was coming from. It appeared to be coming from far away, though the sound was deliberate, a pounding at the ground. She tilted her head to the side, wondering who in the world would come out here to pound at the hard, packed rock and dirt. The pounding ceased for a moment, and she remained standing as she was for a few moments before turning and curiously walking in the direction the sounds had been coming from. She didn't get far when the sounds of thundering hooves appeared and she stopped again. Now the creature was running? She shook her head, picking up a trot once again. Surely they would know better than to run on a surface like this. Of course, she had done it and had ended up over a ledge and almost down the side of a cliff. She snorted, bobbing her head as she transitioned into a smooth, slow canter, hoping this horse would pay more attention to their surroundings than she had.
The golden mare slowed as she saw a white figure in the distance. The equine was huge, he would tower over her once she was next to him, her height only a mere fifteen point three. She slowed to a walk, noticing how the equine seemed annoyed or angry about something and the tension in the air. She also noticed that he was a stag and approached cautiously. "Hello?" She asked, wondering if perhaps she should just turn and walk away, avoiding this whole thing. He didn't appear to want to talk to anyone, and she certainly didn't want to bother anyone. It was too late to just turn and continue on her way though, he knew she was there. She only hoped that he wasn't as angry as he appeared.

A voice. A single voice in the midst of his despair, calling out to ... him? Well surely this couldn't be. These areas had been barren, devoid of life as far as he could tell. But alas, his keen harks had indeed picked up vocalization. Single ear had gone erect atop his skull, the other still pressed harshly in its place. Nostrils flared as he tested the air, picking up no aromas what so ever. Alas, he took note of the hardly tangible zephyr that brushed lightly upon his face, carrying any essences in the opposite direction. Caudal appendage flicked lightly, the baron fearing perhaps he was losing it once and for all, and that the voices were flooding forth from his own subconscious. But as he pivoted, the petite structure of one akin to his subspecies came within sight. They were terribly small, but then again, with him being so horridly tall, most everyone he met was. Eyelids closed heavily a time or two, trying to clear away whatever mirage this could possibly be. Upon determining that this one before him just might be real, and that he probably looked half retarded right about now, he snorted simply to acknowledge their presence. He eased backwards a stride, bitterly recalling the events that had unfolded the last time he had been in the company of another. He fought back the urge to turn tail, a steady sigh causing his ribs to slowly rise. Skull lowered slightly so as to not seem like a threat, though at this point, even he knew not if he intended harm on this other. He felt like a fool, acting a he had while possibly being watched by another. It stirred a slight anger within his core, but he tried to ignore it, swallowing back another snort. After another awkward moment of silence, his muzzle drew slightly towards his chest in a lazed nod of greeting. Finally, his deep tones rumbled forth from his dry maw."Mm. I haven't quite determined if I'm delusional or if you indeed stand before me." He admitted, more so to himself than this other. It was all he said, proffering forth no name of his own, nor asking for theirs. Perhaps a bit of a rude welcoming, but he could care less about life at this moment, none the less greeting this one with open arms. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Occ: I am so so so so sorry i haven't replied til now. I have been horrendously busy, and have hardly had time to touch my laptop, none the less RP. :x

Delusional? Annistion tilted her head to the side, cautiously standing a small distance away. The large creature didn't appear angry like she had originally thought. Perhaps a bit sad though, she could see by his posture. It must take a bit of work to make one so large appear so small. She frowned slightly, a small dip in her lips as she took a short step forward. "I can assure you that I am quite real," she said quietly, wondering what in the world could have happened to make the stag appear so full of sorrow. "Though I don't suppose it would matter much to you." She said, offering a sad smile at the creature. "If you wish, I can leave," she said, turning slightly to the side, as if to do just that. "But, if I may be so bold, I don't think 'alone' would be particularly good for one with such an air about themselves." She shook her head. "The sorrow is almost contagious."
// 170 words so horribly short. D: though at least it's plenty to respond to, I suppose. for someone who doesn't like chatterboxes, she seems to talk an awful lot. o.o

The boyo wasn't entirely sure what to make of this situation. He had only vaguely heard what they said after confirming that they were indeed a tangible being on the same plane as he and all other living things about him. As they drew forward slightly, he had edged back, fearful of close proximity. Afterward, he had gone into deep thought of whether to recognize this as fact or not. Surely any fabrication from the recesses of his mind would claim to be a physical entity. For, to call oneself simply a figment of imagination would be as senseless as a murderer incriminating oneself and pleading guilty. His thinkbox roared with activity as he pondered this over, not quite deciding one way or another on the one before him. They had indeed been correct on the issue that, real or not, the beast was indifferent either way. It had seemed like mere moments - and perhaps it was, for the baron had lost any sense of time by now - when the lass spoke of departing already. As she moved to turn away, the behemoth found himself drawn forward ever so slightly, cringing unconsciously at the thought of being abandoned by anyone and therefore returned to his state of loneliness.
He felt his stomach churn as he realized that this was indeed a weakness of his, causing the embers of his anger to burn hot once more at the very idea of him, Tou, having an Achilles heel. He had been a vagabond, an itinerant, relying on nobody and requiring nothing from others. He had closed himself off, emotions trivial and weaknesses nonexistent. But what remained now was hardly even a shell of his prior being. Mentally, he had indeed succumbed to a horrific disease of but four letters - love. And the only cure that existed was heart break. But side effects were imminent, for not only did it shatter his heart, but it broke he himself as well. His spirit was eliminated, beaten down and ground into the dirt without even a second glance. And what remained was nothing to be proud of. Rattled in the head, hollow in the heart. His soul was returned to its cold, black former self. Mercy had returned to being a meaningless word. Pity was bitter on his tongue. And yet, to be alone, to be left with Loneliness in these rigged, rocky lands, would be the ultimate horror. He couldn't face being lonely, couldn't look individuality in the eye. He needed another. Want had nothing to do with it. Surely the lack of atleast a partially sane other would drive Tou to his ultimate demise. Survival depended on what course of action he took now. Rot from the inside out, allow the darkness of Loneliness overwhelm him, or to throw in the towel, admit weakness, and beg this other to keep him company.
It oh so damaged his pride to admit failure - well, what little pride he had retained. But the lesser of two evils would have to do for him. His vocals were strained as he spoke, a wild look filling his grey-ish orbs as he stuttered forth a step or two, bringing himself close to the girl, despite the fact that he wished to be as far from her as possible, at the same time. "No, please. Please don't go." He felt like a magnet, drawn to her against his will. And yet, his brain was of opposite polarity, reeling him away from her at the same time. Confusion. It was the only way to describe what was truly going on. His throat was tight, the massive beast actually deathly afraid of Loneliness. "Don't leave me alone" He pleaded, his ears flat atop his skull."Don't leave me alone with him." He tightened his muscles as they threatened to quake, this large beast breathing heavily, fearful gaze checking the corners and recesses of the environment. Him? What the hell was going on this with horse? Surely there were no others around. Not a hint of life -except this girl- was within a good radius of them. Nope. It was just Tou ... and Loneliness.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 695 Words It seems a lil rambly, but when typing it, I felt like like I needed to try and give a good sense of mood and feeling on what was going on with him. Anyway, hope that was follow-able. xD If not, he basically personified Loneliness and basically considers it a physical being now.
