» Keanu stumbled across what he thought was the boundary line. He heaved a sigh, carefully walking forward. His various wounds pulled at his skin, threatening to break open and start bleeding again. He shook his head and snorted, glad to be out of the western lands in one piece. The trek down the mountains proved to be very difficult. It seemed so much easier on the way up. His ears were alerted by the sound of running water. He nickered quietly, picking up a slow and awkward trot as he favored his right hind leg.
» He wove through the trees, finding the level ground much easier to navigate in his injured state. The steep mountain side was difficult, but this was nothing. His leg wasn't giving him much trouble; holding up well to all that he had put it through. He figured it would heal just fine within the next couple of weeks or so. He shook his dripping neck, still wet from the rains that continued to fall as he traveled; the humidity keeping him damp and not allowing his body to dry properly. The storms had let up earlier that day, leaving only the humidity and the sun to beat down on him.
» The muddied cremello form broke from the trees, slowing at the sudden change. The area was very open, a wide river splitting through the sandy shore. He carefully walked to the water line, watching the shadows for any sign of movement or life. He didn't particularly care if someone was there, but he didn't want to be snuck up on. He lowered his muzzle to the water, taking a long drink to wet his parched throat. He pushed at the water with his nose, causing it to splash up onto his face. He lifted his head, shaking it as the cool liquid trailed down his neck.
» He snorted contentedly, placing a mud caked hoof into the slow moving water, the small amount of pressure peeling off chunks of dirt. He had taken the first chance he got to cover himself in mud again, happy to blend into the shadows. He figured it was time to clean off though, give his gashes a chance to breathe. He stepped further into the water, picking a reasonably shallow area before carefully flopping into the water. The lower temperature stole his breath, but felt good on his warm skin. He huffed, twisting over in the river, the mud easily flaking off of his body.
» A few of the scrapes started to bleed, the red coloring the water before traveling further down the river with the current. He moved into a more upright position, letting the water rush over him before pushing against the rocks and sand beneath his figure and rising to his feet once again. He stepped closer to the shore line, still standing in the water though it only reached just at his ankles. He braced himself before shaking his body, water pellets flying in every direction and his mane slapping against his neck. He sighed, walking out of the water and onto the sandy shore, his hooves sinking into the soft ground with each step. He felt much better now that he was clean.

Resounding Memories;;RastaCan we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now The mare gently pushed her way through the follage. She had parted herself from the presence of all the other equines she had been near. After all, everyone around her had been planning on leaving her anyways. Swishing her tail slightly she slid between the last of the trees until she could just see the cliffs of the mountains. Yes, it was good to be in a different place of her lands. She shifted forwards heading towards the stream, gently splashing the water to test it before stipping in completely, allowing it to run up against the bottom of her barrel as she finally sensed the presence of another horse. Cocking her head lightly, she said nothing, just pricked her ears forward and 'watched' him with an intent gaze before dropping her maw back into the water to parch her throat with.

» Keanu's ears perked at the sound of an approaching equine. He turned his head in the cirection the sounds had come from, his eyes settling on a golden mare whom had just walked out of the trees. She splashed at the water with her hooves before stepping forward, the water level skimming her stomach. She just then seemed to notice that she wasn't alone, tilting her head to the side and rotating her harks forward, looking towards him. She didn't seem very attentive, or possibly just had a few things on her mind as she had walked into the area. She certainly hadn't been paying much attention, judging by how slow she had noticed him standing here.
» She then dropped her muzzle into the water, taking a drink. He remained quiet, unsure of what to say. So long without social interaction had caused him to be awkward when talking, not able to really start a conversation with someone. She seemed to be alone though, no other equines following in her wake, so at least things weren't as bad as they could be. One equine was enough, he didn't get too nervous until there were more than that. Two and he could deal, but only slightly. Three and he was on edge, looking for the next possibly moments to slip away and never be seen again. Four and he left, rudely and abruptly. His mind just couldn't take the stress of being around so many strangers.
» Keanu turned, taking a few steps forward. Perhaps he would just ask her name, what harm could that do? It was just a name, right? Or maybe he should offer his first, leaving the choice up to her as to whether or not she would present hers. He sighed, speaking to others was such a hassle and he was beginning to realize why he did it so rarely. Too much thought went into what he allowed to pass through his pink lips, too much trouble that could easily be avoided.
» Well, he couldn't just leave now without saying at least something. He had delayed long enough, the palomino figure probably thinking him quite strange by now. "Hello," he said, clearing his throat. The vocal cords were rust from not being used. He decided to leave it at that, no name, no questions, no nothing. Just a simple "Hello." Yes, that worked. That worked just fine.

Resounding Memories;;RastaI've dealt with my ghosts and I've faced all my demons Finally content with a past I regret The golden mare slowly lifted her head up, snorting in greeting to the other stag as she watched him carefully. He seemed a little nervous. Yes, she really hadn't been paying too much attention to where she had been going in the first place, but that didn't have anything to do with another horse appearing. She had felt another being around her, but she hadn't really cared too much about how he found her non-approachable self to be too bad. He slowly approached her, silence except for the tiny splashes of water that emerged with each sliding step forwards. She cocked her head as the words "Hello," reached her ears. Sighing quietly she looked towards him with a tiny flick of her tail. "Hello to you also." she said looking at him with slight interest. "Are you nervous?" her silk voice slid through her mouth and floated through the air. "I go by Rasta in-case if a name eases your nerves." she finished off. She flicked her tail, sending ripples through the water and towards the stag's pillars.

» The mare snorted in acknowledgement of his presence. He gently nodded his head in return, not sure exactly what to say. She sighed quietly, speaking to him for the first time. "Hello to you also." So she wasn't going to say much either? His ears flickered, trying to search for something to say to save appearing like an idiot. Socialization was so not a strong point for him. "Are you nervous?" the mare asked. Great, she could tell. This was so not going well. Perhaps he should have just stayed away from any other equine interactions. He obviously couldn't handle a few words with a stranger without freaking out. He was so hopeless when it came to interacting with someone when the opportunity presented itself.
» Keanu sighed slowly, trying to release the tension that had built up in his muscles. "I go by Rasta, in case if a name eases your nerves," she said, seemingly finished speaking and leaving the chance for him to reply. Water splashed towards him, lightly pelting his legs. He fought and succeeded in standing still, not wanting to appear so jittery and skittish to someone he really didn't know. Yes, she seemed fine, but so had Ember for so long. People were never as they appeared to be, and if you let them gain your trust, there was no turning back. You would be swallowed whole and spit back out the other end. You couldn't leave yourself to open and easy a target for the games that so many other equines played.
» He took a deep breath, letting it out after a few moments. He wouldn't appear as an easy target. He flicked his tail idly in the water, raising his head to a higher height and perking his ears forward. After all, a little social interaction couldn't end all too badly, right? Maybe he really needed it, his already low bar was sinking and his ability to actually talk to someone else was fading away. He didn't want to become this crazy stag who was featured in stories that mares told their foals to make them behave.
» He cleared his throat again, hoping his voice didn't come out shaky and uncertain as he spoke. "Keanu," [he replied, giving her his name. He ignored the other question, not sure of a good way to reply to it. He didn't want to say that yes, he was nervous, or that he wasn't. She could obviously tell that he was or else she wouldn't have voiced the question, but he was at a loss at what to say to it. "Nice to meet you, Rasta," he said, the mare's name rolling off his tongue. It was a lovely name, and certainly fit the golden colored mare that stood in front of him.
» He hoped he was making the right decision, standing here and talking to her instead of disappearing into the trees once again. She certainly didn't seem like too much of a threat, but neither did Song until she barreled into him. And she proved to be someone he should have gone out of his way to avoid. He slowly shook out his mane, the tangled and water ridden locks sticking together and becoming heavy on his neck. A few drops of water speckled the river they stood in, creating ripples in the still, blue liquid.

Resounding Memories;;RastaCarry me to the shoreline Bury me in the sand Walk me across the water and maybe you'll understand Rasta ducked her head again, having had lost all that she had before she turned around and looked once more at the lean stag that stood in the river near her. She let out a tiny breath of exhaustion before he granted her his name. "Keanu," he said before adding, "Nice to meet you, Rasta," Her name seemed to roll off of his tongue in such a manner that caused her spine to tingle. She swished her tail, ridding the horrid flies from her back before lifting her maw up to the sky, taking in the scents around her. No other equines near, no real forms of life that were at least mobile. Everything leaving were simply nature's decorations, the flowers and the trees. Her heart pulled her, desperately forcing her to go back towards her love, a love she doubted she would find again. And, upon the note of doubting, she wondered if she would see the land differently if she could actually see the colours of these equines coats, their scars and the looks in their eyes. Would she be a different mare, would she have caught Panic before he had the chance to cheat on her? Would she not have suffered all of these emotional wounds, or would she have suffered more? "It is but a pleasure to meet you, also, Keanu." she said before gently pawing at the water so she could feel the ripples as they wove around the edges of the river, trying to find a way to escape. "What has brought you up North? Trying to escape your troubles?" she questioned lightly before turning so that she was facing him as she spoke, her voice quiet and reserved, in no way threatening. After all, even if she had wanted to be threatening, she was in no condition to fight. A fight could kill her right now. So, she would leave it be and try and keep everything peaceful.
