Little boys don't know how to treat little girls
Daddy didn't show me... Rhise slowly edged forwards, down the edges of the water and following the stream. His heart beat strongly. He didn't know exactly what was going on, but he did know he needed to talk to that golden mare again. Something was going to happen, something beyond his control. That nightmare of Rama which Shae had fallen victim to was a sign. A sign he needed to figure out. He no longer knew if Shae was even still following him as he slipped in and out of his mind without warning. He saw a group of rabbits and he charged at them, scaring them off. Rasta would not be proud. But she wasn't his mother so it didn't matter. He continued forwards, allowing his hooves to carry him to where he knew she was. He shook out his mane, snapping at the branches which tried to scratch his body, where his ribs were healing rather quickly. It was a good thing they were simply fractured and nothing more. As they healed he allowed himself to slowly pick up to pace to a lazy jog. He needed to get to the golden mare. She had to know something. She had saved him, she had taken pity on him. And he needed to be sure nothing happened to her. That was his job. He needed to be absolutely, positively sure that Rama was not coming around to injure people. He had to be sure. That was he could think of. His eyes showing he was distant, liable to snap at any given moment. He wasn't himself. He was sinking back into his time where he was sarcastic and blunt. Alone. But was he really alone? Or was it all just an illusion...

Gravedigger, when you dig my grave,
Could ya make it shallow, so I can feel the rain... Shae followed Rhise along the river, he didn't seem to notice anything though. It had been almost a week since the too-close-almost-accident that Shae still felt bad about. But on the other hand, Rhise's rib was healing quickly, and he let off on a slow canter, and Shae followed pace, speeding up a bit and nudging his withers as she passed, then sped ahead slightly, as if playing a game of tag. She flicked her tail in his nose and ran forward, using the power from her haunches and taking flight, but not too fast for Rhise, knowing it still hurt a bit. Her muscles rippled from under her bay coat, and she shook out her mane, whinnying out, fog coming from her maw. Her eyes were still emeralds, and Shae reared up, twisting around to see if Rhise was playing along.
Her coyote appeared, watching her curiously. Green eyes, those are new. Shae, don't get too attached too soon, I mean you just met him, and he was being such a jerk... Shae heared the coyote say, and her eyes narrowed to slits. Im fine, thank you. The coyote shook it's head and turned tail, dissapearing once again.

Dead flowers... Rhise shifted, stopping the minute she touched his withers and reacting by instinct. He snapped out, missing her ever so slightly and then pulling back. "God. I'm so sorry..." he said, stopping and looking around. "I didn't mean to... but you shouldn't do that..." he said, pinning his ears slightly before slipping off at a jog again, this time splashing through the river to the other side, heading off in the direction to the farthest north he could go, through the short-cut. He had to get to Rasta. He had to warn her of the upcoming war. He had to. There was simply no way around it. He at least owed that much to her. "Watch for the thorns..." he said before ducking under some branches and disappearing completely into the darkness for the moment. He wasn't going to chase her. She didn't understand the importance of this mission. He had to see the golden mare once more. Then, and only then, would even be able to consider goofing off. That was the only time. And here she was playing around. She didn't understand. She couldn't possibly understand... [/blockquote] ==Into the Mind. . 196 words . Hear me talk, hear me sing... Shae turned as he snapped at her, only just missing her shoulder. 'God. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to but don't do that...' Rhise said, then pinned his ears slightly. Shae snorted and followed after him as he jogged across the river. Shae had no idea where he was going. Farthest to the north, where the alpha stayed, the least threatfull area for war. Then Shae realized. To the golden mare, the legandary golden mare. Rasta. Alpha Rasta-.
'Watch for the thorns...' Rhise's words cutting across Shae's thoughts. Shae dropped her head, but the thorns still grabbed at her and stuck in her pelt and hair. Shae pinned her ears, and pushed herself through, it was dark, and for a little she couldn't see Rhise and only was able to follow him by the sounds of their sharp hooves splitting twigs and leaves. Shae stayed quiet, she felt ashamed, trying to play games while Rhise was trying to find Rasta, though Shae did not know why.

Rhise quickly moved through the foliage. His hooves speeding up as the night drew nearer. "Shae. Would you like to stop to rest or shall we keep going?" he asked, wary of how much travel she could take at one time. It was a huge bill. Especially straight to the north through these surroundings. But he had to get ro Rasta... He owed her this much. "I need to warn Rasta about this war... I can feel it in my bones..." he whispered, stoppinf and waiting doe her to reach his side... We're gonna party like it's the end of the world... 'Shae. Would you like to stop to rest or keep moving?' Rhise questioned. Shae turned at his voice, 'I'm good, if anyone needs to rest it's you.' Shae answered, not wanting to dissapoint him anymore. Shae snapped her legs up, trying to not trip over the underbrush and broken branches, holding her tail up so it wouldn't drag. 'I need to warn Rasta about this war... I can feel it in my bones...' He said, and Shae nodded. He stopped so she could catch up. When Shae caught up, the sun was almost set, the temperature already dropping. Shaes winter coat wasn't fully grown in yet.
Shae leaned into him, then pulled away right as she did, remebering his words. Shae didn't deserve Rhise. She has messed up ever since the day in the clearing with the other two. And she always would. She dropped her head, covering her purple eyes with her forelock in shame, a single tear rolling down her dished face. Shae didnt deserve him, she always would mess up, no matter what, and her mind was stuck on that. Should she turn and walk away? Leave him be? Or go to Rasta with him and mess up even more like she always did....

I cant decide if Ill let you save my life or if Ill drown... Rhise paused the moment she rested her weight against him, feeling a chill reach his body. "Love. Your cold," he whispered, feeling like an idiot for not having had payed cliser attention to her. He mentally kicked himself before wrapping his neck around her withers and pulling her close again. "Come. We'll stop for the night. There is a cave just up there. Im sorry Ive been pushing you-" he broke as he noticed the purple eyes and the single tear. He felt his whole body shatter what was wrong with him. He was so stupid. She was scratched up, tired, but staying with him. Gently he nuzzled away the tear before swishing his tail a little, allowing it to twist around the two of them. "Dont cry on me. Please, Shae. What can I do to make this better. Please tell me..." he said, an aching sadness in his voice as he realized he had hurt the one he loved without realizing it. He felt so horrible. So completely horrible. His ears, falling lopsided, and his eyes starting to cloud over as they usually did when he felt this horrible. It was all his fault. It always was... [/blockquote] ==Into the mind .206 words . Cause I'm back on the track 'Love, your cold,' Rhise whispered. Shae felt him wrap his neck around her withers and pull her closer. 'Come. We'll stop for the night. There is a cave just up there. Im sorry Ive been pushing you-' Rhise broke off and Shae looked at him. 'No, we need to keep going, to alert Rasta as you said.' She said, but he was right, the temperatures were dropping even lower. 'Dont cry on me. Please, Shae. What can I do to make this better. Please tell me...' Rhise said, his voice strung with sadness. Shae looked at him, her eyes turning a bit lighter.
'Rhise, you didn't do anything wrong, I did, ever since we left together, I keep messing up, and I'm just slowing you down,' she said, shaking her head and touching her maw to his cheek. 'I love you...' Shae said, scooting in closer to him, pushing her head against his mane, the wind chilling her bones. The cave, it would be sheltered, like the last one, and Shae wanted to go to it, she trudged forward, pressed close to Rhise.
Shae walked inside the cave, it was warm and comfy, the sides worn down turning into soft sand like stuff that rested at the bottom. 'You know the best shelters, love.' Shae said, nuzzling his neck and she walked towards an indent in the sand, making it deeper by using her hoof. It was warmer underneath and Shae layed down, waiting for Rhise, her eyes shifting back to gold. She lowered her head down on the soft sand, her eyelids drooping, her body already warming up in the small warm cave sheltered from wind and blocked by trees.

I would have trudged on in this cold and killed myself trying to get up there. And you arent messing up. You are simply keeping me on my toes. Im the one who has messed ul, you hear?" he said, wrapping his neck around her and providing as much warmth as he could before closing his eyes. "Sleep well gorgeous, we shall continue again once the sun has returned to heat everything up," he whispered, waiting on her to nod off before allowing himself to do the same. Shae twisted her neck to look at him, her eyes worried. 'If you ever do that, I won't be able to live myself.' Shae said, nodding. He wrapped his neck around hers and Shae scooted closer, warm and snug.
'Sleep well gorgeous, we shall continue again once the sun has returned to heat everything up,' Rhise whispered to her, and she nodded her head sleepily, her eyelids closing over her gold eyes.
