'Do you have any fighting exprience, mon ami?' Whisky heared, the hiss of Ramskith's voice reaching his audits. Whisky trotted silently forward, his ears pinned in annoyance that he had to try and find his way around here to help a stranger he had never heard even the slightest of a name. 'Oh look, here comes your help now.' Rama's voice sounded, and Whisky's audits flicked forward once again. And suddenly Whisky broke through the trees into a clearing, where Rama stood, tall, his lips twisted to the side in a eerie, evil smile. Another stag lay on the ground, heaving, and Whisky glanced at the ground, a small pousinous plant not far away. Whisky snorted and stopped just out of striking distance of Rama.
"You summoned me..?" Whisky said, staring down at the writhing stranger, guessing he was to heal him. He would not yet though, he needed permission from Ramaskith. If he healed him when Rama would reather him not, he would be punished. And war was right around the corner. His thoughts drifted to Ava, the beautiful mare he had just spent almost a week with in a cave, with another stag. But after that huge storm was over, she had bolted, leaving Whisky there. Whisky didn't follow her, did not want to scare her. Yet they had just been starting to get closer, and Whisky liked her, and missed her-. Whisky pushed the thoughts to the back of his head, looking back to Rama, and waiting for him to tell him what to do with this stag.

Through Sliene's eyes
Sliene twitched and fidgeted, looking on nervously as Kaodran lay on the ground. He was so still. She prowled a foot nearer, then stopped and licked her lips with a barbed, pink tongue. Her ghostly form flickered and wavered, even in bright sunlight. She had only been chosen as his companion today but had yet to speak even a word to him. She could tell he was sick, poisoned. Her lips lifted in a snarl at the big stallion standing over her master, her partner, the one who had been chosen for her. She did not like the white-and-red stallion that stood so haughtily over Kao. She wished she could do something about him, but was unsure of her own power. If she leapt at him, would she just pass through him like a shadow? She growled again. Worry overruled anger as she felt Kao's life force flicker. Being one of the Spirit kind, she was finely attuned to all creature's spirits, Kao's especially. Right now, it was in danger of disconnecting from his body and if that happened she would lose him and be a patronus no more. She did not like the thought of that at all. She swallowed nervously, her tail twitching. Why was he not speaking? His eyes were rolled back into his head and his breathing came irregularly. Another horse entered the scene, this one a bright shade of bay. She did not dislike this one as much, for his soul felt less twisted then the other's, the one that was glaring down at Kao, her Kao. Maybe this new horse could help.

"You summoned me..?" the bay creature asked and Ramaskith scowled. "Yes, of course! Why else would Vondur have appeared?" He narrowed his eyes at the equine, twisting to nod at the draft figure on the ground. "This equine is in need of assistance that you have the ability to offer. Heal him," he commanded, glancing once at the stag to make sure he would do as he was told. He then turned back to the equine on the ground, plans for the creature rolling around in his head. The sheer size of the draft would come in handy, though it could prove to be a weakness in terms of stamina. No matter; it was the brute strength that mattered most, because in the end it would kill more. Killing and winning were the only things that mattered.

'Yes, of course! Why else would Vondur have appeared?' Rama narrowed his eyes at Whisky, twisting to nod at the draft figure on the ground. 'This equine is in need of assistance that you have the ability to offer. Heal him,' he demanded, and Whisky was tempted to pin his ears at the tall equine. Though he stopped himself. He deeply hated Ramaskith, and for all he thought of him he could burn in hell. He didn't deserve to walk on Earth. Whisky looked him in the eye, nodded briskly, and walked over to the writhing stallion. He dropped his head and closed his eyes, imaging the poison leaving his body, and the writhing to stop. For him to be healed, healed fully, no more sickness. He opened his eyes, and watched the equine stop writhing, his breathing becoming more stable, easy, controlled. He raised his head and stepped back, out of striking distance to either of the stags that stood before him. He whisked his tail against his pelt, unsure of what to do next.

For a moment, Kaodran had really thought he was going to die. Everything had gone so black and his mind had left him, swirling away on a cloud of nothingness. He found suddenly, that he loved life. He was glad to have been granted a few more moments on this earth. It was only when he raised his eyes up to the sky, the beautiful sky, did he see Rama still standing over him, a shadow obscuring everything. Oh yes. His eyes narrowed imperceptibly. Ramaskith. He rose slowly, taking care not to appear hesitant. He would not show weakness. As his muscles extended themselves to the small task of standing on his feet, he was aware that his strength was undiminished. If anything he felt stronger. Good. He caught sight of Whisky at the same time he saw Sliene, a ghostly figure in the distance, staring at him intently. He smiled at her and she smiled back before turning his attention to the matter at hand. He hoped Sliene could run fast. "I thank you, Healer, for saving my life. I would thank you Rama, however I doubt your mercy stemmed from any good will towards me, so I think I will abstain." Kaodran had not forgotten his pledge to the evil stallion, though spoken while he had been barely coherent. He did not regret his choice, though he wished there had been another way. Anything was better than death. He could still feel its cold clutches, drawing back in disappointment. Well he was not disappointed. He had a life to live and some unfinished business with Rama. If he had been human, Ramaskith would have clapped his hands together in delight. Though, being the equine that he is, he did not. He only smiled deeper and nodded his approval. Though the smiled faded at the insolent words the creature spoke. "I could have left you here to die, could I have not?" he snapped, eyes narrowing towards the stag. "You will learn to be appreciative, though at this moment I do not have the time to teach you this lesson," he growled the words, turning to the side though keeping a strict eye on the disobediant child. "Come. You have other things to learn." He said, picking up a trot in the direction he kept the rest of the army. It was time to learn of what this stag knew, and what needed to be taught. He glanced back at the creature to make sure that he was following; both he and the Healer. No matter how much he didn't like the fact, every soul he collected counted towards his success. For if they got away before he could kill them, they were just another obstacle in his path, one that would enter the other side with such imformation that was not at previledge to be general knowledge. All creature he came across should be kept kidden away, pledged under himself and forever bound. It was the way the world worked. And no one dared to betray the Lord; not this time when his wrath was so great.

Kao could feel his muscles beginning to tense and his heartbeat beginning to race. He sucked in deep breaths of winter’s crisp air. Calm yourself Kao, stay calm, whispered Sliene. She was right. He had to relax. Ramaskith, after fixing him with a hot glare, whirled around, marching away. Of course he was to follow. Every thing in him screamed ‘NOW!’ but he could not force himself to do it. So much depended on hair’s breadth timing and perfect strategy. While naturally, Kao was surely he was Rama’s equal, he sensed something sinister about the stallion. He has much power. Spirits perhaps, but I feel something more, put in Sliene. If only he could challenge him, bring him to his arrogant knees. He would enjoy the feeling of Rama’s body crumpling beneath his hooves, but he knew that to do so would be suicidal. That left plan ‘B’. While Rama’s fighting prowess was not to be challenged, Kao still believed that physically, he was the evil stallion’s equal if not his better. He raised his leg experimentally, feeling muscles rippling beneath steely hide. “Can you aid me at all, Sliene?” he asked quietly, turning his muzzle towards her as not to let the sound carry. I do not know what I can do for you Kao, but I will try my best. He sighed heavily. Already, Rama was putting considerable distance between them. He would bring suspicion upon himself if he tarried any longer. How he hated indecision. Rocking back and forth between the two options, Kao hardly noticed that his legs had begun to move of their own accord, following after Rama. So be it, he told himself. So long as you live long enough, there will always be another day for it.
