;;Battling
-any two adult stallions may battle each other
-before battling you must contact a mod who will then pick a number at random, the opponents will make there given amount of guesses
-if both members chose a number that is an equal distance away from the Mod’s number, the battle is a tie
-the opponents may not choose the same numbers
-the horse who was challenged makes the first guess
-numbers will be guessed one at a time, going back and forth between the opponents until no more guesses may be made
-whoever is the closest to the number chosen by the mod will win the battle.
-the two members must them role play the battle, making the results of the battle reflect the results of the numbering picking
Battling is based off of the strength of the characters involved. Strength is represented by the number of times you are allowed to guess the Mod's random number. Younger horses will have more energy to battle, and therefore will be granted more guesses.
-Stallions aged 3-5 will get 2 guesses
Because while young horses have enormous energy, they are quite inexperienced
-Stallions aged 6-9 will get 4 guesses
Because these horses are in their prime condition to fight
-Stallions aged 10+ will get 2 guesses
Because these horses do not have as much energy
Battle wounds will be determined by the average of your guesses. The further your average is from the Mod's number, the more severe of a wound your character will receive.
**battling scenario**
Blue the horse challenges Red the horse. Blue is eleven years old, while Red is four. (this means Blue will guess two numbers, and Red will guess two numbers) Now the Moderator that is over-looking the battle has chosen a secret random number from 1-100.
-Red guesses 12
-Blue guesses 45
-Red guesses 37
-Blue guesses 98
-Now the Mod has revealed the secret number is 4. Red has won the battle because his number 12 was the closest.
-The averages for each character will then be calculated.
-Red's average was 24.5 (which is 20.5 away from the goal- 4)
-Blue's average was 71.5 (which is 67.5 away from the goal)
-Red has received moderate scrapes and cuts while Blue has received three major wounds.
-There is no set-in-stone way to determine how severe the wounds are, it is almost purely based off of the Mod's judgment and imagination.
**NEW**;;Healing
-No matter what strength of healing powers an equine has attained, they can never heal themselves. It stands that if their energy was already depleted by a wound, they wouldn't have enough without seriously endangering their life. Therefor, this is never allowed, and is not possible.
- Minor wounds may include any of the following:
- Cuts, no deeper than one inch, no longer than six inches. Wider than two or three inches moves it from a minor wound to a major wound. Any more than three cuts need to be treated by a healer immediately, else they become a major wound.
- Hoof issues, though not caused by battle, qualify as minor issues. Cracks and diseases need to be treated by a healer within a one week period, else they become a major issue that may seriously impair the ability to walk.
- Intermediate wounds may include any of the following:
- Any minor wound that isn't treated has the potential to become an intermediate, and therefore more serious wound.
- Both minor sight and hearing issues fall under this category as they have the possibility to impede the survival of the equine in the face of danger. Sight and hearing issues may be healed only if the character gained them due to an event in their lifetime, making them an injury. If a character is born blind or deaf, on any range of the spectrum, they may not be healed.
- Pulled tendons or muscles are intermediate injuries that impeded the ability to walk soundly, and often cause an inability to run without large amounts of pain. These should be seen to by a healer, lest they become permenant.
- Grievous wounds may include any of the following:
- Any intermediate wound that isn't treated has the potential to become a grievous wound, and therefore more serious wound.
- Torn muscles are an injury that needs to be treated. A horse with a torn muscle frequently can not walk, let alone move at a quick gait. They have the potential to affect a horse their entire lifetime, and often cause pain even when not in motion.
- Deeper, wider, longer wounds than specified earlier on fall under this category, and require attention immediately. Otherwise they cause the potential to bleed out, and well die. At the very least they cause a slower action, and great pain.
- Bone injuries: Spinal injuries fall under this category as well, and have the potential to cause pain, impede movement, provide an easy target for a kill shot, and cause complications giving birth. Any bone injury is very serious and needs to be seen to immediately.
;;Heat/Breeding Seasons:
-all mares of the mature age will come into heat in the Summer and Fall
-the only mares who will be in heat out of season will have to had purchased a corresponding item from the store
**NEW** -From this day forth [1-14-2012] graphic breeding is to be done by way of private messages only. Proboards expresses a request against such things done publicly. Therefore, it is to be done only with the consent of both players, and when you are done, stats for both parents should be forwarded to an admin.
;;Foaling
-Once a mare has been covered you must message any Alpha or Head of Staff
-The person messaged will create your foal for you, as to insure there are no perfect foals.
-When messaging, please include what you would like to see in the foal - it does not necessarily mean that you will receive those features on your foal.**NEW* Please also include links to the parents to make it easier on the staff member.
-Once created, the likes/dislikes/personality (only a tiny bit) may be changed by messaging any mod to edit the said bio thread.
**NEW*-mares giving birth to a foal that was conceived with an item will only need to gestate for two seasons for a healthy foal. All other foals will need three full seasons to be completely healthy. Please include this information in the foal application.
**NEW*-foaling will be done in the Spring and Summer, unless an item was used
;;Claiming
-all stags are allowed to claim any mare they come across
-if a stag is trying to claim a foal (age 2 and under) then the dam of that foal is allowed to fight them for possession. but once the foal has turned 3 then the foal is fair game
-the only mares who cannot be 'claimed' are the Alpha mares as they technically rule the lands.
-Alpha mares may choose the lead stag of their land if so desired
-mares may attempt to flee the herd, but do risk severe punishment if the stag so desires to go after them and they catch the said mare.
-do not claim every mare in sight and be a hoarder. most people do not take very kindly to it.
-stags do not have to claim anyone if they don't wish it, though it is an option
-you cannot claim a land unless you can overthrow the Alpha. but be warned, Alphas are strong and don't age so the only way to really overthrow them is to wound them greatly or kill them off. you will have to follow battling rules also
-stags can fight over herds, but you will have to follow battling rules
-Alphas can give sections of their lands to certain stags to guard, or lead over. but only Alphas can allow them to have claim to their land and if you claim part of their land you are under the alpha's control all the same.
