We fight, we break up, we kiss, we make up You don't really want to stay, no But you don't really want to go-o Oser drew in a slow breath, almost wishing she hadn’t broached the subject of brokenness. The thought that there might be another out there with a heart as confused as his…a heart that had thawed and frozen again one too many times to bear…he felt a certain tenderness towards her, a small bit of compassion. ”I’m sorry, Raine,” he whispered, willing himself not to move towards her. He knew that he’d never see Song again, knew that Raine offered a new start for the both of them…but under the desire to be close to her, he didn’t know if a true bond was there. What happened when they finished using each other? That would essentially be what they were doing, wouldn’t it? Somehow, he doubted that it would be that simple to make the pain go away. ”I can’t explain it,” he murmured, still slightly distracted by her mere presence. ”I don’t know, Raine; I don’t have all of the answers!” he suddenly exploded, frustrated with them both. ”I just…don’t know.” He closed his eyes…
Don’t step forward…don’t go near…
When had his heart ever been right anyways? Oser stepped forward.

Hey girl, is he everything you wanted in a man? you know I gave you the world You had me in the palm of your hand Raine dropped her head, not daring to look at him. Her black coat reflecting part of the purple hues in the sunset as she stood out in the opening. This was so rare - so odd - that she would ever actually care. Because, really, in her mind, almost all stags were enemies. Almost all of them were out to get to her - to ruin her life. And so with them she would ruin their life before they could do it to her. She could hear a note of tenderness in his voice as he said he was sorry. Everyone was sorry. Everyone that heard that story was sorry. And she couldn't ever change it. No one understood the pain and mistrust she had just stepping foot close to a stag - hence the reason why she did such games with them. But, the second he raised his voice she snapped. Her head flung up, her audits pinned tightly as she glared at him. "Don't you dare raise your voice at me when I have yet to do anything to wrong you! Don't you snap at me!" she hissed. Then, he closed his eyes as if he were ignoring her. A second later he stepped forwards. She snorted. Then, she stepped forwards again so that she was right next to him. "If you never want to give me a chance - tell me now. I will disappear from your life forever. But if there is even the slimmest chance that would could ever get together... I will wait. I have absolutely no one else that seems to understand - no one else that I'm willing to let get close." she whispered into his ear before stepping back a couple of strides to give him his space. "Ultimately it is your decision - monsieur," she said, flicking her tail once and looking him directly in the eye. [/blockquote] ==into the mind .320 words .Ah. Raine. Don't you love her

They say bad things happen for a reason But no wise words gonna stop the bleeding 'Cause she's moved on while I'm still grieving And when a heart breaks no it don't break even ”I’ll raise my voice whenever I want to!” he roared, voice breaking the still twilight. The crickets stopped their peaceful chirping. A doe at the edge of the meadow took flight, startled. Ashamed, Oser lowered his head. ”I’m sorry,” he murmured. He seemed to be apologizing an awful lot lately, he realized. And he was quickly beginning to grow tired of it. ”I’ve been a brute,” he continued. ”Like I said, you deserve better.” Raising his head, he took a step backwards. ”You deserve someone who can promise you the world. I don’t know why you think that I’m the one who’ll be able to make it happen—look around us, Raine! I’ve just lost my kingdom!” His voice had gone up a not again, and he slowed, softening his tone. ”I can’t promise you anything right now, cherie. I can’t even untangle myself from my own mess.” Normally, he would’ve given her a comforting nuzzle to reassure her, but now, he didn’t trust either of them. ”I’ll be honest with you, Raine: I’m attracted to you, okay? You’re beautiful. You’re everything most stags dream of. But I don’t even know if I’m ready to let anyone else in, now or ever. I won’t drive you away. But I can’t make your decision for you. I can neither promise nor deny you anything…”

We got along We got along, we got along until you did that now all I want is just my stuff back - do you get that? Let me repeat that - I want my stuff back Raine snorted once, backing up as he raised his voice at her - her ears pinned and her blue eyes shining with a tad bit of fear. But, she immediately stood taller, "You don't scare me," she said twitching her maw so that it flicked upward and caused her forelock to flop backwards. He spoke again, seeming to be reasoning everything out. But she highly doubted he really knew what he wanted in his head. "You are one of the few who hasn't done anything to me..." she said below her breath - hoping he didn't hear that. Then, he went into another rant - his voice raising - and then he slowed down catching himself. Good, at least he knew how to control himself. "But you will be able to untangle yourself. You just have to fight through this! Rama isn't as mighty as he pretends to be - he's haunted, I sware. There is something that bothers his mind, his soul, and if he didn't have that he isn't a threat. Not a single threat." she explained, allowing her knowledge of Rama's side to flow freely from her mouth. She knew she would probably end up doing the same thing to Rama about Oser if Oser so ended up betraying him. But at the moment she didn't have a reason to, nor did she really want to go back to Rama. With a pause he continued explaining his feelings. He was willing to try - or so it sounded that way. Gently, she stepped forwards, allowing her maw to gently need at the muscles in his shoulder. "I'll wait 'till you know..." she whispered, swishing her tail quietly and closing her eyes eyes for a second. She might get him. She might be free from her destructive cycle. She might be willing to open up. She might be willing to forget the pain. She might be able to be normal... [/blockquote] ==into the mind .328 words .300 word post day ftw.

Hey there Delilah What's it like in New York City? I'm a thousand miles away But girl, tonight you look so pretty ”I’ll wait ‘til you know,” she whispered, coming even closer, letting her muzzle rest upon his shoulder. He relaxed slightly at her touch, though he made no move to return the gesture, instead lightly touching her dished forehead. Could it be that simple? Oser laughed hoarsely at the bittersweet moment. ”You don’t know what you’re saying,” he murmured. ”It may take forever to me to sort this all out.” And she didn’t know half of it; he literally would have the rest of his life, supposedly forever, to think about what had happened with Song. Even when she was long dead, crumbled to dust in the ground upon which he walked, he would never be able to get her out of his head. If he was to be immortal, so, unfortunately, were his thoughts and memories.
When she spoke again, Oser jerked his head back at the mention of Ramaskith’s name. ”And what makes you say that?” he asked suspiciously, paranoia finally creeping it and taking the place of heartbreak. He pulled away, ignoring the light swish of her tail upon his flanks. ”You speak as if you know him…”

Since you hide since you steal, since you hate everything I feel since you cheat, since you lie, since you don't wanna try the things I wanna try Raine snorted as he backed away from her - suspicion clouding his eyes. Ah yes, time to go back to her normal attitude - something she could finally mess with. Something she could twist and turn so that it morphed into what she wanted. "Oh, Oser - darling - you really must not hear anything! Don't you hear the warriors talk as they fly into battle for the side they believe to be right. The gossip is overwhelming and lets so much information fly loose about the commanders. But of course, you wouldn't know that would you? You simply run when it comes time to fight. You don't stick around to help your warriors - or do you? No you don't, because you are in hiding here - you ran for help from Rasta and I would assume she only gave it to you out of the kindness of her heart and the promise of her land being protected." she paused as his expression darkened - telling her that she had hit the right spot. Then, he attempted to turn and leave and she wouldn't allow that, she wasn't done yet. "Don't leave just yet - you don't know the whole story and it would be a fine good loss if you were to leave before understanding why exactly I know all of this." she said, trotting ahead of him and standing so that the moonlight gently carressed her coat and caused her fresher scars to gleam in the tiny amount of light. "I used to be on Rama's side - until he began to make me his personal slave. Go towards the blood - and then when I fainted injure me more because I couldn't deal. I would have worked better as a spy - I'm talented with manipulating those that I want - but instead he wanted me to find those that were injured enough to be healed and then get the healers to them. I couldn't do it - I never once made it back from the bloody fields without fainting first and then stumbling away from the rusty scent of that blood." she broke - her gaze dropping as she stood there and her body trembling. "All that blood - Oser I couldn't do it," she snorted once and then looked back up to him. "After what felt like the millionth time I confronted Rama - I told him I couldn't do it anymore. He got pissed, but I'm smaller than him. i got around most of the blows - then he just got annoyed and sent his lion after me. That lion is his voice - it's the thing that keeps him powerful." she paused in order to flick the mane to the other side of her neck revealing a freshly healed scar - one that looked much like lion claws. Of course, it wasn't because this whole fabrication was a lie - she really was the spy that she would have worked better as but he didn't know that and he didn't need to know that . It was, instead, a branch that had multiple others protruding from it in such a fashion that looked like lion claws. And she was in no way against harming herself for a cause. "I was saved by one of your warriors I believe - as I don't think any of Rama's would have been stupid enough to go against the lion. Whether is alive or not I will not be able to vouch for as he told me to run and I did. I fainted next to a stream after running with the scent and the sticky feeling upon my pelt. I couldn't last any longer and when I awoke it was nightfall. I should have been dead - but I wasn't, so I'm assuming the lion didn't enjoy the chase and just returned to Rama. I cleaned the wound and attempted to get towards the neutral lands - towards the north - where I stumbled upon you." she said, looking up at him with sad eyes, "Oser, Rama can be stopped if you can get rid of that lion. Get rid of the lion, you get rid of the blood thirsty voice and... and everything will be right again..." she whispered, trembling a little at the thought of what this treason might do to her - but death was better than watching Oser fall for someone else over and over again. She would never be an option - she highly doubted it. But she would try to be an option - she would try until she could try no more...

I ain't laying down, baby, I ain't goin' down Can't nobody tell me how it's gonna be Nobody's gonna make a fool out of me Baby, you should know that I lead not follow Oser heard the blood pounding angrily in his ears as her accusations flew. How dare she accuse him of cowardice? And to bring Rasta into this?! ”You leave Rasta out of it,” he thundered furiously. Who was she to speak that way? She didn’t know the half of it! ”So you think I’m hiding, do you? Well let me tell you that no one loves my kingdom more than I do—no one! And, since, according to you, I’m so good at running off, let me treat you to a front row seat. Goodness knows why I’m wasting my precious time here!” Oser stamped at the ground in an outrage, feeling the vibrations from the blow even through the forgiving earth. He turned, beginning to march off, ignoring her calls after him. He didn’t need this. And thank goodness he’d had the sense not to breed the little antagonizer.
However, she wouldn’t let him go, placing herself between him and his escape, now giving him some sob story about what Rama had done to her—how different was it from what he had done to them all? He shook his head impatiently, still irritated and still so angry he could barely look her in the eye. The muscles of his neck and shoulders bulged as he tensed, willing himself to stay in control, to not fly off. At this point, he cared little for her tale and for who rescued her. Deep raw emotion had been awakened, and it was something he’d not let go of easily. ”I’m sorry for what Rama has done to you,” he replied coldly. ”Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a kingdom to save.” Coolly, he marched around her.
”Oser! Rama can be stopped if you can get rid of that lion. Get rid of the lion, you get rid of the bloodthirsty voice and... and everything will be right again..." she called suddenly. He paused, if only for an instant, remembering the huge lion, Ramaskith’s patronus. So then, were the rumors true? His blood ran cold—he had heard whispers that the lion had taken on a physical form as Ramaskith grew stronger. He knew the old stories of Daemons and their masters. He just couldn’t believe that it had come to this…

All the time she was silent still - said if you love me, won't you let me know? If you love me, won't you let me know? Raine let out a tiny snort and watched as he continued to attempt to disappear. "Oser, wait - please?!" her voice rang through the air, a tiny throb running through her heart at the idea of him leaving here like this. She really wasn't fit to fight - the scent of blood would cause her to pass out and then she was free to be killed. She paused, not daring to speak for a minute - afraid he might turn around and snap out at her. He already had - when she had been her slightly snarky self. And she wanted to beat herself up for that. But she didn't know how to not be like that - it was the way she was raised, the way she knew how to live and what to do. "Oser. Please - I was being snarky to get you to want to save that kingdom. I know you probably hate me... but Oser..." she whispered - almost certain he wouldn't hear her. His muscles rippled under his coat as he stood there, poised to leave at a seconds notice. He didn't want her around - or so it seemed - and she knew she was responsible for being the one to cause him to force her away. She stepped forwards - so that she was a few feet from his shoulder. The night was not forgiving on her frame - as it caused her to seem to be flowing away, disappearing into the night as her soul was usually doing. "I know it's hard - losing the place you know, having your love cast aside as if it were an afterthought - as if you didn't mean enough to them. To be seen as a pawn, as a game. To not know if people care - or if they just want things for themselves - if you were simply something they saw as an object instead of something that actually tugged upon their heart. I understand - probably more than anyone at the moment - just how much pain it can cause a person - how hard and unapproachable it can make them be." she took in a tiny breath as she looked him straight in the eye, "But, at a point - you have to move on. The world keeps going - it doesn't stop. It never stops. You have to push the pain aside and start anew. Oser, I can help you with that. We both need to move on - past the pain that haunts over our heads. We both need something to help forget. And I can help you - and you can help me. And If we can both help the other than I want to try. Being broken - being frozen in time while everything is moving - helps no one..." she paused, not sure exactly how he would take that. "God, Oser - I know you are trying to help everyone. I know you want this land back and Rama gone - I want him gone too. And I don't want you to have to worry about him coming back. I really do think that you, Oser, are the only one that can ever hold my heart delicately enough so that it won't be broken. And I'm so absolutely willing to give that a chance if you will only let it happen -" she broke and her voice dropped down so low she could barely tell if it was her thoughts or spoken aloud "Oser - I might love you... I do love you..." she broke, forcing the tears from her eyes at the thought of him leaving her here. Please, let him understand just how painful this was to her. Then, as if on cue, her patronus appeared in the trees in front of Oser - letting out a gut-wrenching howl into the night air before bounding to her side and curling up in front of her legs. If he left her - and he most likely would - she didn't know where she would go from here. Obviously he didn't return the same sentiments but she didn't want to believe it. She just wanted someone that she cared for to care for her back instead of playing a game with her. She didn't want to be played with. She didn't want to be a game of pleasure to anyone anymore... Pretty woman, won't you pardon me Pretty woman, I couldn't help see Pretty woman, that you look lovely as can be Are you lonely just like me? Oser stared stonily off into the blackness ahead of him still hurt and angry. But when her words floated back to him, he couldn’t help but half turn towards her.
“…I know it's hard - losing the place you know, having your love cast aside as if it were an afterthought - as if you didn't mean enough to them. To be seen as a pawn, as a game. To not know if people care - or if they just want things for themselves - if you were simply something they saw as an object instead of something that actually tugged upon their heart. I understand - probably more than anyone at the moment - just how much pain it can cause a person - how hard and unapproachable it can make them be… But, at a point - you have to move on. Being broken - being frozen in time while everything is moving - helps no one..."
He half shook his head, the last barriers of denial crumbling. No…but really, she was right. Who was he kidding? He couldn’t just keep hiding out here, wallowing in his hurt. The world went on. And it would be a long eternity if he didn’t learn to recover from heartbreak. Raine understood. Raine knew about heartbreak. Why shouldn’t he trust her?
”… I really do think that you, Oser, are the only one that can ever hold my heart delicately enough so that it won't be broken…I do love you…”
Raine’s plaintative voice was beautifully sorrowful, and he caught something raw in it, a tender chord that he hadn’t yet heard from her—something true, something real. She loved him. She was beautiful, she wouldn’t leave…but she wasn’t Song. No, he admitted painfully to himself, she wasn’t Song—but could there be room in his heart for another? She was offering her fragile world to him. Could he learn to love her?
Slowly, he turned, moving back towards her, step by soft step. ”All right” he said quietly, neither a statement nor an answer. ”All right,” he repeated. What else did they have to lose? And then he was touching her, whiskered muzzle resting lightly on her neck, before nosing at her thick mane and running up to her face. ”I trust you.”
--behind the post-- irony all around: he trusts her, but she betrays his trust I’m actually going to have him genuinely start to fall in love with her, then he sees Song and…yeah :’(

Time is slipping away away from us so stay stay with me I can make, make you glad you came... Raine gently dropped her head as she heard his feet gently plodding into the earth around them. It was an almost hypnotizing sound - but she was too afraid too look up for fear that he would be declining her last offer - the offer of her heart, the one thing that she wanted to keep safe and dear. She didn't want to lose him. She couldn't have her heart break again - if she did she was nothing and she would really be frozen without a way back into motion, she would be dead. Then, his voice came through into her ears, landing with a resilence she hadn't expected. "All right, all right," he said before stepping up even closer and closer to her. She could feel his breath before she looked up to him - her body trembling ever so slightly at the feeling of it against her pelt. then, she gently lifted her maw up a tad so her eyes were looking at him. A few seconds later his muzzle was upon her neck - ruffling up her mane, against the scar that sent a shiver down her spine. The lies - the lies she had told to get him. She shouldn't have told them. He didn't deserve to be lied to. But it was who she was and she highly doubted that she could ever change it. No - it's too late to take them back now. There was no one to back up this story - no one to specifically tell Oser she had lied. She closed her eyes - letting out a short breath - and then she could feel his maw running up her face - tracing the contours of it. Her audits flicked forwards again, her tail swishing slightly as it raised ever so gently. "I trust you," - Oh, but he shouldn't trust her. No one should trust her. But she was glad he did - she needed to find someone to be with, and he was a fine choice - someone that wouldn't hurt her for he understood the way it felt to be hurt so badly. It was safe, and the twisting feeling in her heart told her that somewhere deep inside she really did love him - hence why her voice had wavered when she had said that, a chord pulled and broken from which she was unsure of how to voice such a statement. "And I trust you," she whispered, letting out a tiny nicker before lifting her maw up ever so slightly and allowing it to run from the joint of his cheekbone down his neck and to his shouldered chest, tracing each of the contours before going back up and messing a little with his mane. Quietly, she swished her tail - a bit harder this time - allowing her scent to flood through the pasture again. A kid - it would be a great way to start over, to attempt to erase the past. Something that they could both put their heart and soul into. Yes, it was the perfect thing, and she was willing to carry this child - she was willing to do it for Oser, for herself. Twisting around so that way her hindquarters were facing his head she swished her tail and raised it again before looking back towards him - her baby blues looking at him innocently and honestly - she was willing, as long as he was - and she desperately hoped he was...
