I'm holdin on your rope got me ten feet off the ground And I'm hearin what you say but I just can't make a sound The harked angel slowly pulled her black satin body up from the position which she lay herself in. It had done as it had needed, her tail still curled slightly around her body, though of course, more of it was off of the ground. No leaves, no pieces of dirt, or broken branches had snagged onto her tail, leaving it in its silky state. Same now with her mane and forelock. Her all-seeing blue eyes watched as Keanu stumbled towards the trees. Maybe she should help him? Nah. Messing with Oser was a bit more entertaining that anything else. She snorted contently, moving back towards the stream. Dipping her maw into the cool liquid she took one more sip to cool down her vocal chords before she swished her tail, walking over lightly towards Keanu. Well, not neccesarily towards him, but just to get the movement in her hips as she moved away from him. Her dainty hooves making no noise as she picked them up, pulling them up to her chest and causing them snap back down with perciseness that only Arabians seemed to posses when doing such movements as that. Or, at least that was the only breed of horse she had ever witnessed mimick such a movement with grace and fluidity. Snorting once, she tiltled her cranium around, bending at her neck, looking at the grey stag with an intent gaze, still moving forwards. Her silken tail trailing behind, calling for him to follow her. Once she arrived at Keanu's side she dropped her maw, letting out a tiny breath into his fetlock. "Rest well." she said, lipping once at his ear in a comforting way before slipping back towards this other stag and the mare she had just told to basically accept the help and lash out once she was better. No, Raine was not an evil mare. Was she? Oh, yes she was. But, either way, she had probably just aided in saving the mare's life. Her ears perked forwards, her mane slid backwards in an inticing manner as she slid up to the stag's side. "She willing to accept the help, I can see." she said, flicking her auds around. She could have sworn she had heard something in the brush. Wolves. Princess. Wolves. They smell the blood. They expect easy prey. And that they will get from this nasty mare. From this nasty mare who is exactly like you. Except she just doesn't take the time to earn a stag's trust and then tear them to shreds. No, she just goes to tear them to shreds. You deserve to die with this mare. whispered Mika to her, his alluring voice sending her ears to pin as she swivled around, sure to let the end of her tail slid against this stag's hooves. The brush moved, and she lowered her head, barring her teeth and snapping once as a young wolf pounced out from behind the brush, followed by another. And then another. And another, from all sides. Even the opposite side of the river. Raine's head jerked up in amusement. Seriously? Mika had been right. The wolves, oh the darn wolves, were expecting easy prey. This was great. Just great. Snorting once she slid around to the other side of this stag, the side that put him between her and Song. "I hope you enjoy the company of wolves, my darling Oser. As they seem to enjoy the presence of the dieing." she said, flicking her ears up as she spoke to him before pinning them again and looking at the wolves. "Mika. How do you suggest we deal with this?" she questioned under her breath, ignoring the fact that he had basically just called her a scum bag like the mare on the ground. She didn't not kill the stags she gained the trust of. She just shattered their hearts. Made them realize that they actually couldn't have her. I don't know Raine. How do you think you should deal with it? I vote you faint and allow the wolves to eat you up, like they did to my body after you killed me and shoved me into a rushing stream so that you didn't have to look at my corpse. Guilty mind much? the voice rang in her head which she immediately tried to shake out. "I didn't do that," she continued to hiss under her breath. If you insist. he said pausing a wolf immetted a loud snarl and slowly began to inch in closer. You, this other mare, and 'Oser' should all take a side and start killing as many of them with your head strikes as you can. Now that you know it can kill, incase if you didn't realize that before. he said his voice twirling around her head in a velvteen voice, causing her body to relax. "Shall each of us take a side, get rid of as many as we can?" she suggested to Oser and the other mare, Aria. It was better than just standing here, staring at them while the wolves inched closer to them and this dieing mare near their feet. Raine would not die. She would not appease Mika. It just would not happen. Slowly, she arched her neck at the poll, allowing her muscles to slide out, showing off her body as she stepped the side, kicking out at the first wolf to dare and bound into their area for the hopes of a kill...

Oser Mercy reaching to save me
All that I need
You are so
Beautiful, beautiful As he stood near her, it was difficult for Oser to resist the urge to run up to her and help her, whether she wanted it or not. He felt guilty seeing her like this when she obviously wasn’t proud of it, he felt that in some way, somehow, he was responsible. He knew it was ridiculous, that he hadn’t even been near the clearing when the fight had broken out, but he felt like this was something that could have been avoided. If the war had never been started, maybe it wouldn’t be like this. Maybe this mare would have been in a herd by now, not reduced to wandering alone, as so many were these days. Maybe she would have been happy, running free, not worried about fighting or pain. Maybe by this point she would have had someone to love and a foal frolicking by her side. But, no. She was here, in the mud, with a huge, bloody gash in her shoulder, and almost unconscious from the agony. Snap out of it he ordered himself for what seemed like the hundredth time that day. It’s not your fault. The war wasn’t even your fault. It was all Panic’s doing. Yes. Panic’s fault. Never his…
Aria rushed past him, leaning over the mare once again and murmuring words of comfort. He didn’t pay much attention to the words she spoke, concentrating on the best way to convince this mare to let him get near her. Usually he had very different designs when musing upon this subject, but today, this would be solely to help the wounded mare. Stop it. he told himself. She’s hurt. How could you be waiting here at a time like this? She’s so young. And so innocent in a strange way, even though she doesn’t know it. And the longer you do nothing, the shorter her life may be...
At that particular moment, he happened to look up to see Raine pulling her lithe little body out of the river, tail flowing fluidly behind her like a shining banner. Snapping her hooves up, she floated out of his sight, going after Keanu, he assumed. Look at her his mind told him, she’s beautiful, in control, healthy, and seems to be in charge here. Just what you need. Even if she doesn’t understand everything about you, she could produce some strong foals. It’s high time you saw some little ones scampering around, isn’t it?
Just as he thought this, she rounded the corner and came towards him. He was about to move towards he in greeting when he remembered the invisible boundary he would be crossing. He looked down at the skittish mare, wondering if she’d let him any closer. She seemed to be struggling, and as he watched, she spat out that she didn’t care what any of them thought of her. Why should she care? he wondered gloomily. It wasn’t like any of them had really done anything to help her.
Simultaneously, his ears caught a rustling in the brush, something that sounded menacing, sinister—just as the mare finally succumbed to the torment, whispering the words that would allow him to move closer. ”I… need…help.” Finally moving closer, he noticed that he was not the only one trying to get to the mare. A pack of wolves was surrounding the group swiftly and silently, waiting for death. A small pack, but still. He strode forward protectively, standing over the mare, pinning his ears at the predators. The black mare came closer, murmuring, "I hope you enjoy the company of wolves, my darling Oser--as they seem to enjoy the presence of the dying." She mumbled something under her breath that he couldn’t catch before looking up at him again and suggesting silkily, "Shall each of us take a side, get rid of as many as we can?"
He gave no response, but seemed to grow taller as he cocked a warning hoof at the offending animals. He knew that they considered the mare fair game, after all, they hadn’t even attacked her, they were just willing to take what nature threw to them. Hesitant to actually hurt any of them, he bared his gleaming teeth and flattened his ears, snaking his head at the nearest one. They would not harm any of the others, he felt certain, but they were not something he wanted around right now, not when one of their group had been wounded. Stamping a hoof, he swung his open muzzle towards the nearest one, sending it scurrying off into the forest. They’d be back, he knew, now that they were here, they wouldn’t leave for good until the scent of an injured animal disappeared. Maybe that was it, he thought, surprised at how simple it seemed. If they could get the pack to run off for a short while and follow them at a distance, they could make it to the river. The running water would wash away their scent, and they could travel downstream. Song would be supported by the current, after all, the water didn’t move quickly, and they would be safe. From the wolves, at least. It was worth a try. ”Just drive them off” he called to the others. ”Once we get to the river, it won’t matter…”. And with that, he carefully stepped over the injured mare’s trembling body, eyed the growing horde of beasts before him, and charged.

» Keanu was drowning, drowning in the deep dark abyss that was his mind when it shut off completely on him. No ability to wake up, no ability to change what he was seeing. For about the first half hour that he was out, everything was fine. No memories, just darkness and shadows. He has relaxed completely, floating in the blissful sleep that he so desperately needed. If he could only keep from having nightmares each time he closed his eyes, he would sleep much more often. But, instead, he pushed himself so hard so that sleep didn't happen often, and when it did, it was only for a little while. Now, as he lay on the ground next to that tree, his sleep took him over and transported him back in time.
» His body twitched on the ground, laying flat on the ground now instead of upright. His ears rotated, trying to hear anything and see where he was now. His eyes moved under his eyelids and he breathed deeply, searching desperately for some signal. Everything grew still as a liver chestnut mare loomed in the darkness of his mind. A grin was plastered on her face as she walked towards him, taking her sweet time. He whimpered, the sound echoing in the real world as he legs fought to make his body back up, to get away, anything. He was frozen, he couldn't move, there was nothing he could do.
» The mare came closer, stopping a few feet away and staring at him. The smile was gone from her face, but what he saw in her eyes scared him more. His legs trembled with fear as his breathing was out of control. Smoke began to fill his senses, making his eyes blink over and over and begin to tear up, he lowered his head in between his shaking pillars, coughing as he tried to expel the dirty air from his throat. The mare laughed stepping closer to his and breathing down his skin. His whole body shuddered with the thought of her touching him and a small whine resounded deep in his throat.
» "My dear, sweet, sweet Keanu," the mare said, gently touching her muzzle to his neck as he fought to get away. His legs thrashed on the ground, his body twisting and slamming into the tree that he lay next to, but he still stood frozen in his mind, there for all the torture that Ember would wreak on him. The mare sighed, shaking her head as her skin moved against his. "We could have been great, you and I," she whispered, her lips against his harks now. He jerked his head away, relieved for a moment that he was able to do that. His head though, connected with the tree that stood behind him in the present, the force causing blood to trickle down from his poll.
» Ember shook her head, making disapproving sounds. "Why are you so afraid of me?" she asked, slipping fake sadness into her words. She reached out and touched his shoulder, gently caressing it. Keanu fought and fought against the invisible holds that tied him to the ground, trying to get away with no avail. "Why are you so afraid of your mother?" she asked, hurt. Keanu's head whipped around, staring her in the eye. He huffed, "You. Are not. My mother," he spat, his body trembling with the effort it took to actually look at her.
» She then reached out, sinking her teeth into his flesh. His whole body jerked in protest and another whimper came out of his throat. "You will not speak to me that way," she said after releasing him and walking around his body, her shoulder brushing against him every single step of the way. He body bucked and fought, trying to move just one inch, just one, to had some space between him and Ember, but nothing worked. He couldn't move. He coughed again, the air still polluted around him as tears started to run down his face. Why was she torturing him so? His whole body shook, his heartbeat loud in his ears. Why couldn't he just wake up?
» Ember finally circled around him, stopping in front of him and gently lipping at his forelock. His head jerked back each time she touched him and she finally sighed, giving up. Her eyes shifted back to his, "You were such a good student," she said, "Most promising." She shook her head carefully. "It just seems that my only mistake was choosing you instead of your brother. You were the first one to stand, without falling. The first to do all of it, and yet, you still disappoint me. Your morals get in the way of what you were meant to do, Keanu." She stepped forward, pressing her maw to his forehead as if she could make those morals disappear with just a touch. "You were meant to kill, Keanu," she whispered as he jerked his head away. "You were meant to shed blood over the lands. Just embrace it," she smiled, stepping back.
» Keanu shook his head, back and forth. "No. No, no no. No, no. NO!" he repeated over and over with each shake of his head. He wasn't a killer, he wasn't a fighter, he wasn't.. No. No, no, no. He opened his eyes as Ember began to speak again, "Oh, but you are my son. Look what you've done to the poor Wind Song," she said as the figure of Song came into view. She lay on the ground, the wounds he had given her painted her pelt, her eyes stared lifelessly forward. No. His mind allowed him to move as he fell to the ground, the tears streaming down his face. He was a killer, just as Ember had said. He was a monster, just as Song accused him of being. A monster that didn't deserve to live.
» The tears streamed down his face as he mumbled that two letter word over and over. No, no, no. Footsteps echoed on the floor as Ember walked up to him. Her head was lowered as it brushed against his cremello pelt. He didn't even jerk away this time, unable to move as he lay in a pool of his grief. "I don't want to be a monster," he said, turning to look up at the only mother figure he had known, despite all the hate that raged inside of him for what she had done. "Oh honey," she said as Keanu closed his eyes again and wept, her muzzle touching his face. "But it's what you are, inside. The more you fight it, the more it hurts."
» He lay there, Ember gone and he alone in the dark that was his mind, the tears staining his face. "I don't want to be a monster," he repeated, almost choking on the words as he forced them out of his throat as the tears continued to fall. His heart beat loudly in his ears, so much torture that he put his heart through, he was afraid it would burst. His eyes flickered as he woke, his body throbbing with the pain he had endured while he was trapped in his mind. He paid it no attention as he continued to mumble, "I don't want to be a monster," over and over again, shaking his head as he wept. He really didn't want to be a monster. He had never wanted it. Never.
» Perhaps it was best if he got to his feet and fled. Away from the other equines to be on his own again. He couldn't hurt them if he wasn't there, right? He shifted his weight, pushing at the ground and only getting half way up before collapsing against the tree. He groaned, closing his eyes and sinking to the ground. He couldn't even stand, how was he supposed to get down the mountain and away? He didn't want to hurt anyone, not ever again. He couldn't bring himself to think about Song, who he wasn't sure was actually dead, but he knew that her wounds were all inflicted by him. It was his fault, whether she be badly injured or close to death. It was all his fault. No matter how much he desperately wished he wasn't, he was a monster. He always would be.

She hissed and quickly flattened her harks into her tresses, of course they were sure to come and she couldn’t help but wish they had, had more time to get her to her feet and to the water but now more precious time was going to be wasted chasing these wolves off. With a snort she nodded to the plan and pawed the ground, charging at the two near her. Back into the thick brush and woods, her mind raced as she chased them and then stopped, she hated the feeling that washed over her she had lost them. Turning around when she heard rustling on either side of her flanks, she felt the sting of claws across her left flank, she didn’t make a peep not wanting to make others come to her aid, she was fine, Song wasn’t. She kicked out, feeling her hooves connect with something, it yelped and ran off, she spotted the second and charged it and it fled. She just wanted to get out of here, harks flicked nervously as she turned to look at the three long bleeding claw marks across her flank. How could she have been so stupid but it had been one moment there the next gone. She picked up a trot which made the wound pull and tug, making it sting but she was stronger than that. She broke through back to songs side, knowing time was now really ticking. She wished the other mare would help more instead of flirting hardcore with Oser, that wasn’t the thing at hand right now, Song was. They needed to get her to the river. She shook her crown, the red easily seen on her pale coat, she ignored it. Her parents had taught her never to show you are weak and she didn’t like to show that. She didn’t care if someone got upset for not calling out for help it had been her problem at the time and she had taken care of it. She looked down at Song, how are you doing? I promise we are going to get you to the river. She sighed and waited.

Song let out a soft groan of pain, cursing herself internally for the noise. Suffer in silence, she should always suffer in silence. Shouldn't she? Fluttering eyelids shut around her face, gently taking away any type of vision she had left. She craned her neck out instinctively, searching for some type of comfort. Her surrounds were confused, again- she wasn't delirious, per say, she was simply... confused, yes. Confused. Whispers of movement, rustling hooves kept her here, in this plane of consciousness, though just barely. Her shoulder throbbed, stabbing pains shooting through her body- though dulled, almost, as if she wasn't... there. Like she was living inside of someone else, and she could feel a ghost of what was really being felt. Like she was... fading. Leaving. The only things she felt were the pain, and she heard her heart, her lungs, and barely the world around her... Her eyelids fluttered, soft noises reaching her ears... Something about agreeing to... help? Needing help, yes... Song needed help. Where was everyone? Where were her friends? She didn't know... Soft growls reached her ears, just barely audible over her slowing heart. Growls... growls... What growled? Growling was for predators... what were the animals that hurt horses? Wolves! Wolves were here! Her eyes tried to force themselves open, though failing. Wolves preyed on the weak... Were they here for her? Were they here to put her to sleep indefinitely? All she wanted now was to sleep... Yes, she needed to sleep. She needed... rest... Her heart slowed with her pained breaths, the cries of wolves and words of horses echoing into her ears as she fell into another world, a world without pain that swallowed her into a blissful darkness...
--behind the post-- 291 words. Not much to say soooo yeah. xD SO SHORT. Song is officially passed out from pain and blood loss.

Should've been much further than this by now, little bit more gone little bit less twisted around Raine snorted, dropping her maw to ground and snapping at the ear of a black wolf that continued towards her. She felt her teeth close upon it and it caused her to jerk back, not remembering to let go of the cartilage before she went back, the taste of blood filling her mouth. She pinned her ears as the wolf yelped, pawing at her face and digging into her skin, bloodying her face and the wolf's paw. Snorting once she backed up, shaking the crimson liquid off of her face, though it continued to pool again and drip down her muzzle. Pinning her ears she pawed at the ground before charging towards the wolf, causing it to run ahead of her into the forest. That's my evil Princess. The one that wants to kill. Smash it's skull in for scratching your beautiful face up. Kill it. Forget about the blood. Kill it. he called in her mind, making such a tempting offer. NO! NO! She was not a killer! What was she thinking? She hadn't wanted to kill Mika. And she would not kill these wolves for just trying to survive. But, as the wolf pounced at her again she reared up, fear taking over her body. Kill it... kill it... kill it.... kill it... kill it... he repeated in her mind, and as she came back down her hooves landed smack in the middle of this poor wolf's head. His paws scratched at her legs, causing her to rear up again, then spin around and kick out at the now lifeless body. More wolves coming towards her now that she had killed the poor animal. She hadn't meant to. Oh God. Oh God. She did not just kill something. "MIKA! LEAVE ME ALONE FOR ONCE!" she hissed under her breath. Kill them. Kill them all. Just like you killed me. Kill them now. he ordered her. And as more and more came towards her she reared up, smashing her hooves into their paws, making it impossible for them to move without limping and slowing them down, Then, she would crush their other legs so that they couldn't move. It was the only way out of here. Where is my black princess? The one who can kill. Why are you not proving yourself? Why are you fighting your nature? It is useless. You will lose it soon anyways. Like you lost it with me, when I didn't want to do as you asked. his voice rang in her head causing her to pin her ears again. His voice, sending a ripple of fear through her body. Something as real as this couldn't be dead. Oh. Live with it. I'm here, I'm watching your every God-forsaken move. And I'm going to make sure your death is a painful and slow one. So keep playing your stupid game. And you will get a taste of your own medicine from mental insanity. he finished before he fell silent and she slid out of the bushes, an aggravated look on her face. Falling back into stride with the rest of the group she took one last glance towards Aria. She seemed royally pissed off as her, as most might as well be. But, if she had been attacked by the mare on the ground, or seen her go after a stag who had done absolutely nothing to harm her. Well, she most likely wouldn't have wanted to get near her either. Allowing herself to take in a short breath she dropped her maw near Oser's side in defeat. "I believe them to be gone..." She winced with each word as the cut on her face stung with the movement of her jowls. Looking back to the mare on the ground, she realized she was now unconscious. At least if she was forced to help she wouldn't be harmed in the process...

Oser This feels like the place between what is and might have been So I guess this is where we both find out If this was meant to be Blood. There was blood on the mare’s face. His mind whisked him back in time, back to the battlefield with his warriors fighting around him. Many had been lone stags, had been rogues wandering in solitude who had devoted themselves to his war for the sake of having something to be a part of, but the one particular stag Oser was remembering had had a mate. She had been a seemingly delicate little thing, but was surprisingly sturdy and more courageous than many mares he’d know. She had been coal black, just like the mare before him. She had loved her mate so much, to the point where she would not leave him as he fought. She would hide in the woods, watching him, waiting for him to return from battle. Oser had never known her name, He’d just remembered the soft look in her eyes that had contrasted so sharply the chaos going on around her. She had been in foal and had foaled during the war, his mind forced him to recall. A tiny filly, born black like her brave mother, bold like her proud father. They had been a family. And he had had to watch as death ripped them apart. All because of the war. Wolves had been stalking the bloody trail that the warriors were leaving, anticipating battles and feeding off of the dead. A tender young foal in the area was always in danger, but her dam had always managed to fight them off courageously. Until that fateful day, just weeks before the war finally came to a close, when a particularly long battle raged. The mare and her young filly had stayed hidden in the forest, watching the fighting, when the wolves began to grow impatient. They had encircled the mare and her young offspring, snarling and yipping in excitement at the thought of having a foal for a meal. Like all of the other times, the black mare had begun to defend her shadow, flattening her ears and driving the wolves back. But this time, they were desperate. They wouldn’t run off, and had pushed the mare to the edge of the woods. He had been at the center of the battlefield, fighting ferociously, when suddenly, he caught a glimpse of the mare. Her filly was hidden in the brush, but the black fae had plunged onto the battlefield, wolves surrounding her, no longer interested in the filly when they could have the mare. Just as she reared up, her mate, who had been fighting next to Oser, fell to the ground, fatally wounded. In that moment of grief and distraction, the mare had come down hard, wolves clawing at her face, blood rushing from the wound. Forgetting everything, she had run from the battlefield in terror, pushing her confused filly deep into the woods, fleeing all that had been her life. He never saw her again.
And as he stared into the eyes of the mare before him now, dark face slashed and bleeding, he knew that he would never be as he had been. He had not recovered, thoughts of the war still pressed against the front of his mind, and they only worsened when he was in the presence of others. He could do nothing to help them, though they had all fought so bravely at his command. He would get this mare to the river if she survived, nothing more. As soon as he learned her fate, he would leave, disappear back into the forest. He’d wander some more explore his territory, protect those he came across who had need of it, and maybe, somewhere along the way, he’d find a simple little mare, someone easy to read and uncomplicated who could love him despite what he was.
He glanced down, assessing how long the mare before him had to live. She was still bleeding, but now she was unconscious. His heart sank. Why had he ever answered her screams? He’d arrived just in time to lose the first mare that had, without him knowing it, begun to melt the ice surrounding his heart.
--behind the post-- 686 words the filly referenced in the story is Sheba, in case you didn’t catch it (I wouldn’t expect you to, it was a very vague reference) Oser is very possibly leaving after he finds out what happens to Song. He can’t handle it.

» Keanu's head dropped to the ground, his sides heaving with each breath. A light sweat covered his cream coat and his leg ached. He heaved a sigh as random sounds reached his ears from the others. He couldn't quite make sense of it all so he didn't even try. He shifted his weight, moving to a more comfortable position on the ground. The bark of the tree behind him cut into his skin with a sharp sting. He hissed in annoyance, the small scrapes hurting much more than they should. He slowly closed his eyes, looking into the inky blackness of the back of his lids. He would force himself to stay awake, not wanting to listen to Ember again. He could though, try to rest his body as best as he could. Hopefully soon he would be able to stand and get out of the area. He didn't think he'd need much help as long as he had the energy to go. He could tolerate the pain for a while but if he didn't have that energy to actually go anywhere, leaving wouldn't be much help to him.
» A low growl sounded in Keanu's ears and his eyes flickered open. He was met with the hungry, brown eyed gaze of a wolf; white teeth glimmering. His eyes widened and his nostrils flared as he jerked his head up, his heart beating faster. The sudden movement seemed to jolt the wold and the furry form launched itself at Keanu. He whinnied loudly, in fear and pain as the animals claws sunk into his shoulder. He struggled to rise, using the tree behind him to brace himself. He ignored the pain as the bark bit into his side, slowly getting to his feet while trying to keep the wolf away from him. He huffed as he finally stood, quickly pushing himself forward and away. The black haired creature yipped, going after his ankles. He kicked the wolf, the animal crying out in pain before pursuing him with renewed vigor.
» Keanu pushed himself into a fast paced trot, gritting his teeth against the pain that shot through his leg with each stride. Another wold appeared in front of him. He slid to a stop, a startled cry escaping his mouth. Where had they come from? He could hear the others, off to his right. so that was those weird sounds? Then it dawned on him. "Song..." he whispered under his breath. That must be the reason. She hadn't made it to the river yet. Was she already dead? He nickered loudly, jumping forward and jolting back to his senses. He couldn't think about her right now, he needed to worry about himself first. Blood trailed down his legs from the bites the wolf behind him had inflicted. He grunted, kicking out with his hind legs before lashing out with his front. a wolf cried out; or was it both of them? Maybe one of the others? He couldn't tell the difference anymore.
» Keanu snorted as he lunged forward, heading in the direction of the other horses. He didn't know how many wolves there were and he knew he couldn't hold them off by himself. He slid in the mud as he burst from the trees, trying to stop before he ran into one of the other horses. He pushed himself to stay in an upright position, afraid that if he fell he wouldn't be able to get back up. "Where dd they come from?" he asked, out of breath. The two wolves that had been pursuing him broke from the trees, one with a bloodied face and the other was limping. They both growled, angry with the fact that he had gotten away. There were still a few others in the trees and from the looks of it, they had already put up a pretty good fight.
» He took the small lull in action to look around him, taking in Raine who was bloodied once again and was looking slightly unsteady on her feet. The other mare, who he didn't know the name of, seemed to be able to hold her own, few scratches. The unknown stag seemed to be doing well also, able to keep the wolves away easily. His gaze then fell to the blood soaked body on the ground. Song. His breath caught in his throat, so she was dead after all then? A slight rise in her stomach told his differently and he could breathe again. Thank god, she was alive. He hadn't killed her. The relief was instant but quickly replaced by fear as his attention was turned back to the wolves around him. They really needed to get Song to the river -- her coat was just as dirty as it was covered in blood. If they didn't move her soon his relief would be short lived, and she would die.

The painted stud nudged her side and pressed his cheek to her barrel feeling the foal kick, she smiled. She was simply glowing and overjoyed that in a few short months they would finally be parents. She felt his nuzzle on her cheek, the loving nibbles and tugs on her tresses he was thrilled and so was she. Even though the war raged around them nothing was going to tear apart their little family. She didn’t for see the day the heard entered the war, I will be back he spoke softly, I promise. With a finally touch he was off, she waited for him everyday word being carried to her by the others, the stress took its toll and her tiny foal was born still, shortly thereafter word reached her he had passed… the mare shook her crown and looked at the unconscious mare trying to figure how long she had to live, she was bleeding, the ground stained red as it pooled. She turned away briefly looking at her own wound which had stained her flank a crimson color. She turned back and wanted to pass out but she was stronger, now what do we do she needs to get the river soon or… she trailed off and started off blankly waiting.

So unreal, but I like it anyhow I go faster and faster and faster and faster And faster and faster and faster. I can't live in a fairytale of lies Silently, the mare inched closer and closer to Oser. These stupid wolves were getting on her nerves. She let out a loud whinny, one that was ear shattering and most of the wolves inched away. Her face was beginning to bother her. The blood, still was stinging her face as she inhaled the rusty scent, causing her to stumble as she moved backwards a few steps. No, nothing made sense. Nothing was making sense. Oh. Shush and get back to your normal life. Deal with that dieing rat on the ground and then you can worry about Oser. Yes. That other stag. That stag that you want to be 'yours' until you are tired of him. Then, you'll just kill him like you killed me... Mika growled in her head, knocking her back into consciousness instead of slipping around lost and confused. She snorted once and was soon back at Oser's side. "Oser. What shall we do now..." she questioned, "I will help move this fea, but I will not be the one to wake her..." she said, swishing her tail playfully as she ducked her head, allowing her forelock to cover her blue eyes. It was bad, this habit of drawing stags in, just to play with them, but at the same time, she felt that maybe one day she would change. Well, for the right stallion that is. It had to be right stallion. She looked back curiously at the two mares. Song, completely passed out, and Aria hovering ontop of her, with her hindquarters bloodied in crimson. She couldn't deal with this. No, too much blood. Stay with Oser, he wasn't covered in it. But, he would be soon when it came to helping move this mare. The scent sent Mika back into her mind. I love how you always remember me with the scent of blood. You are such a beautiful mare. A mare with an iron heart. A mare that doesn't let anyone in, no matter what. Open up, so you can be hurt as I was. he chided before falling silent again as she closed her eyes, fighting the tears back. Oh, trust her, she had opened her heart up for him. But, he wouldn't leave her alone. And she also needed space. She hadn't meant to kill him! And now, he was the one haunting her mind. The only one haunting her mind.
