LAOCH
Lao sighed, sensing that she still didn't see things the way that he did. However, he decided to let the matter drop for a moment, and he followed her back out into the sun. "After you, love!" he teased gently, trying to distract them both from what had just happened. Oh please let them find Rasta soon...for a moment, he wondered if the mare's alleged gift of healing could heal minds as well as wounds. How badly he wanted Repla to see...!
Pushing the subject from his mind for a bit, he followed Repla steadily through the snow, ready to help her if they came to a patch of ice or a river. While they walked, he amused himself by toying with her tail, tugging on it playfully and pretending that it hadn't been him when she looked around over her shoulder. Sighing to himself, he tried to remember the days of summer, those long, warm, sun-filled days and the cool silver nights out in the meadow...his mind flashed on his awkward courting of Repla, the quiet dignified stag acting like a lovesick puppy...he laughed, half-wishing for those times of freedom once more. Since when had he and Repla become so serious all the time?
Feeling a little foolish but needing a break, he ducked his head, sending Repla's tail spraying over his ears and forelock so that her coppery hair clashed obnoxiously with his dark brown face. "Hey, darling, what do you think? Good look for me?" He chuckled, moving forwards to nudge her muzzle. "You know, love, I just want you to be happy," he whispered.

I dont know hwere your going or when youre coming home i left the keys under the mat to our front door Repla turned around and laughed, trembling slightly in the cold. "Oh you look so handsome! The girls will most definately flock to you!" she teased, gently lipping at his cheek and then up towards his ear. "My warrior can evade the fangirls, right?" she whispered in his ear before letting her maw rest on his for a few moments as she moved forward. It was getting colder - a good indication that they really were heading north. She snorted, stepping on ice and losing her fotting for a few seconds. Her legs spread out as she slid forwards and then she trotted off of the ice and stopped about a foot away. She let out a held breath and closed her eyes, trembling in fear of having had hurt herself then realizing it had been fun and laughing. "Lao! You should try it!" she said before stepping back on the ice, pushing off and gliding back over to him. When she went back to where she jad been though a gold coat caught her eye. It was moving towards them and it caused her to pause. "I think we found our first form of life, maybe they'll enjoy the ice. It is a lot of fun!" she said cheerfully. He chuckled again, whispering back, "Fangirls, hmm? They'll just be let down, poor things, when they learn that you're my one and only."
They made their way to yet another frozen river (or perhaps this was the same one; they all wound around so much that he was becoming dizzy!), and Repla slipped on the ice. For a split second, fear was reflected in both of their eyes, then she took another hesitant step, purposely sliding towards him. Old memories of seeing foals play this way on the ice stirred in his mind, and he laughed, joining her. Slip, slide, swish... the sensation of barely having control was strangely relaxing, and he slid after Repla in a slow-motion game of tag.
When she stopped, he was still breathless, enjoying the game. "I think we found our first form of life..." she murmured, and he quickly glanced around. For coming towards them over the snow was a golden horse. His breath caught in his throat. No, it couldn't be...There was no way it could be this easy. Lao didn't believe in luck, but as the horse drew closer, he couldn't help but wonder...He inhaled slowly, waiting for the figure to approach. Calm down, Lao. We shall see...
"So we have, Repla! I wonder what brings another equine out to these parts in the dead of winter..."
--behind the post-- hola, Rasta! he's gonna wait for her to approach btw.

Repla let out a laugh before sliding around a few more times. "Probably having the same fun we are!" she teased before nudging his shoulder once and laughing. Though she didn't exactly know all of what was going on. Her bunny slide around on the ice, tripping and falling over itself quite often causing her to start to laugh. "Please, tell me that you just saw that happen, Lao." she directed her nose in the direction of the rabbit who was now bouncing up and down in its spot and then spinning a little in circles. The world was calm and the snow stopped for the moment which was good - especially considering the new equine that was slowly coming closer to them.

The golden mare continued to push forwards through the snow - her hawk gliding through the sky ahead of her and swirling around. Laughing he curled up and dive-bombed the mare. Good girl. Move away from the world. Stay away from people. Turn away. Turn left - turn right. Just don't keep going straight.
Rasta simply shook her head and continued on forwards - her dainty feet hitting the ground and barely marring it at all as she continued to move. The wind blowing her hair around her body and splaying quietly in the snow. She moved with a tiny grace - exerting that her presence was not that of a normal horse - but not overly exerting it to where she was seen too much differently.
Looking up she caught 'sight' of the two other horses messing around on the ice. They were acting so young - like foals would be - but it seemed to be bringing their spirits up so simply dismissed the fact and came to a full out stop at the edge of the ice where the two were now standing. "What brings you two darlings out here in the dead of winter?" she questioned - bobbing her head at the two in a welcome. "It's not the safest journey." she said, cocking her head gently to the side as her hawk settled down in a perch upon her back.

Repla began laughing, looking at something in the snow. "Please tell me you just saw that..." she managed to snort, before collapsing into giggles again. "Saw what, love?" he asked absentmindedly, distracted by the ever-nearing equine. From the way the wind blew her forelock back from her face, he could see that the mare was clearly blind. Her light eyes were both frosted over, as if the ice had frozen them along with the rest of the winter world. Yet she moved easily, as if she saw every step of the way--no, she moved as if she didn't need or desire to look where she was going, as if she knew every inch of the ground upon which she trode. Her palomino coat gleamed in the weak sunlight, giving her what almost appeared to be a soft glow. His breath caught in his throat again. He was almost sure of his instincts regarding this familiar stranger's identity...but, again, could it be?
There was only one way to find out. He'd introduce himself, waiting with bated breath for her name, waiting for the title Rasta to slip from her li--"What brings you two darlings out here in the dead of winter?" The mare beat him to the speaking game. Before he could reply, she continued gently, "It's not the safest journey." He nodded, acknowledging her, then immediately feeling foolish, realizing that if she was truly blind, she wouldn't be able to see the gesture. "Indeed, madam." Lao addressed her formerly, voice calm and deep. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am called Laoch, and this..." he paused, glancing lovingly at Repla, "...this is my mate, Repla." Internally, his heart swelled, for he realized that it was the first time he had had the pleasure of introducing his queen as such. His mate. He smiled, dark eyes momentarily trailing to Repla's side, pride flashing in them for an instant as he thought about the baby. What had he done to deserve such a family? He straightened, knowing that he owed it to Repla to seek help for her. She needed to be strong and healthy.
"It is rather...unusual, indeed, madam, to be traveling at this time," he admitted to the golden mare. "However, we are seeking help--a Healer--for Repla. She had a run-in with some wolves." Laoch paused, waiting for the mare to speak again. Her lips parted, as if to introduce herself...
Please, let it be...
Rasta.

So help me god to break this hold to find myself Repla blinked - looking up at Lao again. "You still cant see the rabbit..." she whispered and nudged his shoulder as he introduced the both of them. The mare seemed familiar, something from tales she might have heard. Ruffling her coat a little bit she felt a cold wind blow through. At that moment a blue hawk flew in - letting out a loud screeching noise causing her rabbit to curl up against Replas fetlocks.
"An ex-warrior I see. I seldom recall anyone who wasnt with such manners," Rasta mused before let out a tiny laugh. "Nice to meet the both of you. You may call me Rasta. A healer you are seeking?" she mused and closed her eyes for a moment taking in the deep wounds to the other mares hind legs. "I could try. Though I have only healed once or twice. And i hadnt actually been intending upon healing the one which I have helped." she paused, looking at the two of them before turning around and starting back up the direction she had come from. "Come. The roan - your Repla - is very capable of walking the distance to a cave that is free from this weather so I might try and heal her." her hawk let out a shrill cry once more before hovering over the golden body and then rocketing forwards toward the cave. "You still can't see the rabbit..." Repla whispered softly in his ear, a tinge of sadness in her voice. He shook his head gently, placing his muzzle briefly at the top of her head, between her ears, as the golden mare began to reply. Straightening, he pricked his ears, giving her his full attention.
"An ex-warrior I see. I seldom recall anyone who wasn't with such manners," the mare noted thoughtfully, seeming to sum him up with a glance from her sightless yet knowing eyes. "Nice to meet the both of you," she continued graciously. "You may call me--" The mare paused slightly, at least in Lao's mind, and he held his breath"-- Rasta." He exhaled audibly, catching himself mid breath. So it was her. The Alpha of the North. He sank to a slight bow, acknowledging her position. "I am honored...Rasta," he murmured, hardly believing the timing of it all. Rasta went on, the next-best words falling from her lips: "A healer you are seeking? I could try. Though I have only healed once or twice. And I hadn't actually been intending upon healing the one which I helped." He kept his head low out of respect as he replied, "If it should please you to do so, madam, I--we--would be forever grateful." His heart leapt at the mere possibility of Repla being healthy and strong again. Subtly, he leaned into her the tinest bit, feeling their sides brush and knowing that their baby was between them. Rasta was offering him his chance at a healthy family. Never mind the fact that it might not work...they could try, couldn't they?
Rasta spoke again, interrupting his thoughts. "Come. The roan - your Repla - is very capable of walking the distance to a cave that is free from this weather so I might try and heal her." He looked at Repla, assuring her with his eyes that he would help her reach the cave. "Thank you," he said simply to the Alpha mare, following her alongside Repla, ready to support her. "...thank you."

They will not control us and we will be victorious Repla trudged on placing one foot in front of the other and gently leaning against Lao for support as needed - though it wasnt all too often. The golden mare loomed ahead of them her spectral hawk gliding effortless above the group. By the way Lao had addressed her she assumed that this mare was of high ranking and it was making Repla a little uneasy. Looking to Lao a few times - feeling her heart sink slightly - they finally made it to the cave. Replas little rabbit hopped into the far corner where she followed before laying down beside it. Her body was trembling and she didnt speak. Part of her wondered how Lao seemed to know of this mare - his formal greeting so odd to her - and part of her was wondering if he only cared and had come back because she was carrying his foal. What would happen if she were to miscarry along the way? Would he leave her? A wave of sadness rippled thriugh her body before she began to tune back into the world realizing she was humming a tune in an attempt to calm herself down. It was almost like a lullaby and it was then that she heard the other mare's tinkling laugh. Much more delicate - more beautiful and renounced - than her own. Her heart caught in her throat as her fears of losing Lao slowly pulled back. "Now if this doesnt work I think she shall be able to heal on her own. I think it is just more of a deep flesh wound than anything," Rasta told Lao before gently reaching her maw out and touching the crimson mare upon her hindquarters. The poor child was trembling. Her whole bidy seemingly unable to stop. "Just breathe, Repla, breathe..." the golden mare breathed before the skin began to crawl to life nerve cells binding together and skin growing and replacing the wound. It looked brand new - like nothing had happened there. It looked warn, yet it felt fresh. Repla scuttled backwards in a panic - feeling a connect with the golden mare who so might steal her mate. She didnt want to feel that connect. She wanted to be able to hate her if she had to. But she knew now she couldnt. Her body was still trembling as she looked to Lao and then back to the blind mare who was laughing once again at her - the hawk upon her back shaking his head and eyeing her rabbit. Repla froze and then the hawk went for the rabbit grasping it in its claws and taking it up in the air. Repla cringed and writhed in pain - pain she felt in her soul as her rabbit fought free. It wasnt long before the rabbit slammed into the ground and Repla unpinned her ears - looking ungratefully at Rasta as the hawk curled up upon her back again. This was uncalled for. "Thank you," Repla said with a mix of sarcasm and sincerity. Then she turned to Lao and pulled herself to her feet before standing behind him - putting him between the gold mare and herself. They followed Rasta to the cave, Repla leaning on him slightly where the snow became deeper and prevented them from walking easily. He looked over at her, hope rising in his chest. If Rasta was able to heal her...! Yes, it was just a possibility, but if she could...
Reaching the entrance, he let Repla enter before him and after Rasta. Walking in behind her, Lao was troubled to notice her trembling. Was her injury really worse than he'd thought? Fear gripped him at the thought of her suffering. She'd done nothing, nothing at all to deserve this pain. Repla, so sweet and so beautiful, deserved better. Guilt pricked at him as he thought back once again to their argument. If only he hadn't said what he had...Lao knew that guilt was pointless and that 'what if's couldn't change anything, but he wished that he'd been a better mate. Nobody was perfect, but he felt like the one time that they'd had a major argument was the time she'd gotten hurt. He knew that the two events weren't directly connected, but he still couldn't help feeling uneasy.
Eyes adjusting to the dim light, he saw Rasta standing a few feet away, presumably preparing to heal his mate. Repla began to hum softly to herself, and he couldn't help but listen to the haunting melody of her voice echoing slightly off of the walls of the enclosed cavern. How had he been so fortunate as to meet a mate such as she, one who never complained even when in this kind of pain? Repla was remarkable.
"Now if this doesn't work I think she shall be able to heal on her own. I think it is just more of a deep flesh wound than anything," Rasta explained. He nodded, though he hoped that whatever she was about to do would work. "Just breathe, Repla, breathe," she murmured before exhaling herself. Slowly, magically, the wounded flesh began to knit itself back together. He shook his head and blinked, as if stunned at what had just happened. So it had worked! Bowing his head low, he rumbled, "Rasta, we are most grateful. Thank you." Such a gift from an Alpha was not to be taken lightly. He wondered if there was anything he could offer her in return, something to repay her astounding compassion and generosity.
However, Repla seemed to have reacted differently. As she caught a glimpse of her freshly healed skin, she jerked backwards. Lao's ears twitched backwards, wondering if she was hurt or in pain. Please let it have worked...She was shaking and he caught a sense of tension as Repla looked upwards, towards the ceiling of the cave, as if she was witnessing something horrible. "Repla...?" he whispered, concerned, touching his muzzle lightly to her ruby coat. "Repla, love, are you all right?" She cringed, as if she were in pain, then just as suddenly, relaxed and focused her gaze on Rasta. "Thank you," she murmured, and he caught an odd strangled tone in her voice. Repla moved behind him, and he cast a worried glance at Rasta before turning to Repla. Why was she acting so strangely? Had the cure done more harm than good? Struck by a sudden troublesome thought, his eyes slid to her belly. What about their child? Had whatever Rasta had done affected it as well?

Mr. Know It All Well you think you know it all but you don't know a thing at all, don't you think it's something y'all? Rasta shook out her coat with a tiny laugh. "She's fine. Don't worry. Baby should be fine too if that's what you are worried about." she said before turning out of the cave. "Now if you would excuse me. I can't stay in once place for too long with Rama running around out there." she explained before swaying her hips a bit faster and taking off at a gallop away from the cave. Her hooves were muffled by the snow which she was running through. As she moved away from the cave you could see the drifts of snow which had flown up into the air with each hoof fall.
Repla turned to Lao and bit her lip, cocking her head at him. "Yea... Stupid hawk grabbed my rabbit in it's talons..." she whispered, shuddering out the last bits of anxiety flooding through her body and then gently nuzzled his shoulder, up his neck and then his cheek. "I'm fine. After all, she just healed me." she reassured him before lipping at his maw and then allowing their muzzle's to meet and she just stayed there. He didn't need to worry. There was no more of a reason to worry after all she was healed now. "Please, Lao. Don't blame yourself." she said before closing her eyes and cocking her hind leg a little resting all of her weight on her other three legs. "Rest for a bit? I don't really know why we came up here anyways." she said, her voice a bit sleepy as she swished her tail once and then opened her eyes to look back up at him.
With one last effort to calm him down she began to hum the same song she had before she had been healed - the lullaby... [/blockquote] ==into the mind . 308 words .Repla is soo cute ;3 --- ohhh and she accused Scath of being mean on the sims XD[/size]
