A red form carefully moves through the trees, snow crunching under her hooves and flicking up behind her. She moves with a strange, calculated grace that appears to come naturally. Her front legs moving quickly, snapping forward in a fluid motion while her hind end takes short strides, ankles flipping back with a slight flair. Her back remains straight, not moving a fraction to the left, right, up or down. Her head bobs slightly, mane bouncing with the movements and she bounds across the ground. She smiles to herself, enjoying the feel of the air pressing against her skin as she lazily racks on, her tail kinked and held high and streaming like a banner out behind her, swishing from side to side. She really was a lovely sight, the slowly greying hide weaving through the trees and crashing through the snow with no destination in mind.
She nickered quietly to herself, stretching out her legs and snapping her knees up higher. With each stride her hind end pushed further forward and her forelegs curled up closer to her elbow, stretching out in front of her to pass the distance quicker. The gait was so easy and carefree, requiring almost no energy to perform yet was the fastest way of travel she had found thus far. Besides, of course, a full out gallop that would tire you quicker than trying to move against chest deep running water. She paused in her advance, hearing another walking through this winter wonderland. She turned quickly, wondering who this stranger might be and whether they could help her with a pressing issue that was currently occupying her mind once again. She smiled to herself, twisting to face this new comer and ask her questions, demanding answers.

The two could have been mirror images, if their viewers were unable to perceive color. Graceful legs flashed, sculpted heads nodded up and down to cadence only they could hear. Both moved with the rippling motion that comes from dancing for themselves alone. They were a solo symphony, audience and the performer one and the same. Seraph was happy today. She was usually of a cheerful mood, but winter's first major snowfall seemed to trigger joy that was unusual even for the willowy mare. Only one thing, she decided, was missing from this beautiful day. Happiness was always multiplied when shared with another, especially now, as Seraph felt an intense longing for companionship. She absently wondered whether any herds had ever formed after the war. It would be nice to find a permanent home. She whisked out a tentative tongue and allowed a couple snowflakes, drifting from a cloudless sky, to melt upon it. Then she was off, skidding on the newly forming crust on the snow, breaking through and laughingly getting back up. It was only after she had hurtled a small drift, cleanly clearing the obstacle before her, that she became aware of the other mare not too far off. Her skin tingled a bit, and she whisked her head up to see a roan mare standing in the snow, peering at her. The other mare was staring in an unabashed manner as though she wanted to speak to her, so Seraph decided to oblige. Lifting her knees in an airy trot, she made her way towards the roan.

The other equine turned at trotted over to her, moving in much the same manner that Rix herself would. She could see that the mare was flashier than she and it made Rix a tad jealous to see that someone could move better than her. It made her just that much less special. She immediatly disliked the mare, finding it hard not to just snap out at her and mar her pretty palomino paint pelt. She glared at the stranger, all of her questions fading into her head as she just stood there, no longer wanting to talk to anyone. She cleared her throat though, seeing the questioning glance the other mare shot at her in association with her silence. "I'm Aurorix," she announced, using her full name instead of the nickname that she allowed males to call her. Other females were threats, other beauties for them to admire instead of herself. They were not her friends, and they did not deserve to call her by a nickname. Make them suffer with the difficulty of the full thing. "And you are?" she asked, smiling at the mare. It wasn't very nice to act rudely to such a stranger so she would at least try to be friendly, though she wasn't sure how long that would last as she looked at her petite golden and white form.

Aurorix was a hard name to pronounce. Seraph tried rolling it around on her tongue but decided that she looked foolish, so stopped. She just hoped she would not say it wrong if she needed to address the roan. "And you are?" Seraph took her time in replying, scrutinizing Aurorix closely. While the mare wore a friendly smile on her face, Seraph thought she detected an undercurrent of something in her voice that she could not quite place. It sounded a bit like hostility. Not to be deterred, Seraph allowed a smile to light upon her own features, one to match the roan's. "I am called Seraph." On a whim, she added impulsively, "I adore the sound of your name, but I just know that I'll manage to trip over it somehow. Might I call you Auro?" While waiting for her response, Seraph, surreptitiously of course, eyed the roan. She was a pretty specimen, not as dainty as the 15hh palomino-paint, but pleasing to the eye in her own way. A little shiver of apprehension went through Seraph and she involuntarily glanced around. Now that winter was here and the mares were beginning their heat cycle, two good looking, and unclaimed faes would be a prime target for any mare-greedy stag.

Seraph. Well at least her name wasn't prettier than her own. Rix narrowed her eyes just a fraction at the mare's question, deciding it was better to give the fae her real nickname rather than be addressed by one the mare had come up with. "You can call me Rix," she stated, forcing her face to relax to a more friendly manner. She noticed the equine looking at her surroundings, as if nervous or afraid of something. Aurorix allowed her ears to twitch around, listening to the sounds of the forest for a moment. Was there something out there? She hadn't heard anything, nor could she smell anyone nearby except for this good for nothing mare in front of her. Yet, the cold had already frozen the tip of her nose, her sinuses feeling as if they were sitting in ice. What a horrid time of year winter was. Nothing good came of it.
Rix stepped to the side, walking past Seraph, "Looking for something?" She asked, glancing at the surrounding trees once again and then back at the paint mare, wondering what had possibly preoccupied her attention.

Well, it appeared this mare was not terribly interested in trifling with pleasantries. Seraph was not sure whether Rix had offered the alternate nickname simply to spite her or whether it truly was the name she was accustomed to. Seraph was also beginning to glean that the mare had not intended to give her a nickname at all when she had introduced herself, preferring to let Seraph stumble over her full name. Oh well. With every breath Rix took, it seemed to echo with pent-up feelings of something. Could she be holding a past grudge? But no, that was ridiculous. Seraph was sure that they had never met. Still, her body language, no matter how carefully concealed, communicated veiled hostility. "Looking for something?" Her tone seemed friendly enough, however. Maybe Seraph was just mistaken. "No, not at all. I guess you could say I'm just a bit overcautious. Checking my surroundings has become something of a habit."
.......... bwahaha someone totally should. it would be hillarious. Seraph would be like "eek! does my mane look nice? okay, now I'm getting out of here." XD

A Gentle King Karai strode with such perseverance despite the deepend snow. Though with his size and long legs, it was mere nothing to him barely reaching his knees like it could for those of a smaller height. He could smell the two mares, way before even seeing them. Following his nose, letting it lead him towards them. Slight mumblings were carried along the wind. Voices. Those more than likely coming from the two. A cool breeze ran through the trees, gently playing with his silken threads, a smile played at the edges of his lips. Enjoying the feel of it upon his thick pelt. Trotting forward, his heavy base verberating through the earths crust, alerting them of his presence. His greyed form emergeding from the trees, the two Faes now in his full vision. Stopping right bwtween the two, glancing at both, he spoke. "Why hello there Ladies" He smiled teasingly, standing over them both. enjoying being taller than the two, though he pretty much always were the tallest. "What brings you out on such a cold morning? Enjoying the snow are we?" He glanced at the red roan and winked, then to the more paler mare and gave her a toying smile. "Im Karai, and you two are..?

"No, not at all. I guess you could say I'm just a bit overcautious. Checking my surroundings has become something of a habit." Rix nodded, uninterested. The mare was making her unhappy. She didn't like standing next to something just as pretty as she. She snorted softly, the air billowing in front of her face as she shifted her weight in the awkward silence. Then, the scent of a stallion entered he nostrils and her ears pricked, her head immediately lifting and looking for the source. "Why hello there ladies," the creature said and she spun to face him. He was huge, standing much toller than she or the other mare. His coat was of a greyed out blue color that drew her eye and she smiled a little crooked smile. His eyes were of deep blue that stood out against the dark skin around his eyes; she barely heard what he said next. And then he winked at her. She stood a little straighter at that, tail swishing to the side. But then he smiled at the other mare, Seraph, and her eyes narrowed, ears twisting back. "I'm Karai, and you two are..?" She jumped forward, standing next to him. "I'm Aurorix; but you can call me Rix." She smiled flirtatiously, trying to pretend that the other mare did not exist. It was only she and this kind, handsome stallion; someone who could tell her how beautiful she was. She hadn't heard those words in a while and her body almost seemed to hum with the excitement of a male creature to offer his compliments.

Seraph stifled a laugh. What an idiot. The roan, Rix she called herself, was obviously very possessive of any stallion that happened to wander her way. Looking at the two of them, Seraph doubted they had ever seen each other before. The only explanation for Rix's behavior was complete and utter dependency on the male kind. Seraph could not help but smile in some amusement. She was glad that she never made herself so cheap, throwing herself at every passing stallion. While she had a weakness for them herself, at least she knewhow to wait for a worthwhile relationship. Looking at the Rix, now standing adoringly by the other roan's side, Seraph decided that she had nothing to worry fear. Though her small, delicate size and lovely form made her vulnerable to stallions who took a fancy to her, she chose not to worry about this one, no matter how flippant he sounded. Rix would absolutely be his first choice, if only because of her proximity. She took her time in reply to him, finally saying in a mildly scornful manner, "You may call me Seraph."

Tinkleling bells sounded through the currents, the form of the scarlet roan, springing upon him like a strikeing cobra. Such egarness ran threw her actions. A gentle melody fell from her audio. "I'm Aurorix; but you can call me Rix." A smile too fell upon his lips, returning the grace with gratitude. "It's a pleasure to meet you Rix" a gentle bow and gracefull arch of his neck leaned down to her level. His silken threads gently twitched upon their permenant post, at the end of his rump. Turning with a cat like grace, topaz orbs fell upon the palor mare. "You may call me Seraph." a simple bob of his head, a signal of understanding. "Cat got your tongue Lady, Seraph? For you seem rather composed and reserved, Perhaps i could help with that" A teasing smile spread across his audio. Placing a thick carrying limb towards her, his tall shape loomed above, shading her petite size from the winters, glaring sun.
A sound of tinkleing beels resound as he pulled away from the mare, his stance now more freindly. The darkened mask, covering his profile, turned back to the red who called herself Rix. "So my lady, what brings you out here? I'm just passing by myself, not much here, Well apart from you two lovely ladies now" his audio spread wide in a action of happiness with a sort of mocking attitude added along side. Teasing, just like he always did with the Ladies. Though deep down inside his greying chest was the longing of his true loves grasp once more. "You've got to be careful now, cant stay astray for too long, theres word going round of some kind of war going on here. Do be careful" His music became more serious, warning them.
