And you play it coy but it's kinda cute... Ah, when you smile at me you know exactly what you do... They had been traveling along for quite a few weeks. Winter was getting harsher and harsher. Repla's stomach was growing and growing, larger and larger. She ducked her head down a bit more as she moved, glad she had all of the haunch muscles she was born with. She felt horrible for Arabians who had to bear such a load with their short backs and fragile bones. But, somehow they managed it since their race was thriving in these lands. With a snort she continued up a tiny hill waiting to see exactly what it was that was going on around here. She knew Lao was but not that far behind her, especially with the ice and snow she was having to trudge through. Her winter coat had most definitely appeared now and she looked almost like a ball of fluff, especially with her now stomach trying to bulge out. She flicked her forelock out of her eyes and took in the vast amount of snow being blown around the area, especially into her face and swirling around her body. It was getting cold, but she was almost certain that it would be okay, after all Lao was there. Wasn't he? "Lao. Come join me! Isn't it so pretty?" she called out, twisting her head around and waiting for him to come to her side on the hill. Meanwhile her bunny was hopping around, messing with the snow and kicking it around...

LAOCHLao tramped onwards through the slowly falling snow, glimpsing his mate up ahead. "Hey!" he teased, reaching her finally, "Wait for me!" He nosed her forelock from her eyes, muzzle brushing the long soft she had grown for winter. They had been traveling since the snow had started falling, but the winter was definitely worsening. The cheery red roan looked none the worse for wear though. Her slate eyes had become dreamy, and Lao could see his own proud eyes gazing back at him in their reflection. Anticipating their first foal had changed them. Even though she wasn't at all far along, the pregnancy was evident in such a small mare. He looked at her anxiously, adding, "Maybe from now on, dear, I should walk in front. It might help clear a path and make things a bit easier for you. I don't want you..." He paused and glanced meaningfully at her swelling side "...Getting hurt in this ice," he finished.

I stop and think about it The life I could live without. Watching another, follow the other Repla slowly allowed her head to rest against his chest. She was getting tired from walking in this snow, but she wanted to reach the north again. After all. didn't he? Wasn't it something he wouldn't mind doing? She had heard threats of a war, and she wanted to get away from it. She didn't want him to leave her. He couldn't leave her. She didn't know what she would do if she was left alone again, at least during the pregnancy. She would have been fine alone, she did know how to protect herself, but honestly, she wasn't sure she could continue through the pregnancy alone. She shifted, letting out a breath and watching as it curled up in smokey being. "Sure. Go right ahead, warrior," she whispered, looking up and him and gently nudging his shoulder playfully. "I'll be right behind you..." [/blockquote] ==Into the Mind . 148 words . Still. No. Muse...

LAOCH
"That's my girl," he murmured, rubbing his muzzle against the fuzzy top of her neck. "So sensible, so good-natured. I envy our baby having you as a mother. Though I certainly won't complain at being your mate, my dear." He smiled and moved in front of her, pushing away the snow as they moved onwards.
"So, Repla, any plan of where we're going? Or is it just to be another adventure with you?" Lao threw the words over his shoulder as they trode, shoving the icy slush out of their way. "You know, I'd be perfectly happy with either." Behind him, he heard her step falter, heard her stumble. His cheeriness evaporated and he rushed towards her, murmuring, "Repla! Are you all right, love?' He shook his head slowly, dropping his voice. "I'm sorry Repla. This is all my fault. If I had a piece of land to call my own, you wouldn't be out in this weather. You'd be safe. Our baby would be safe. I know it's my fault, love. And I'm so, so sorry." A sudden despondency gripped him, and he turned away, expression pained. You're no better than your father, a voice from his past hissed, Getting her pregnant with your foal, then leaving her stuck. Tell me, where will your child be born? You have nowhere to go, Laoch... He shook his head vehemently, but at the same time, his sinking heart told him it was true. What had he done?
--behind the post-- mreh. It's something. Poor Lao feels guilty. He needs some cheering up ;D

She said "Does it ever get easier to live like this?" and kiss the cheek for I can't kiss you anymore... Repla snorted, her whole body covered in snow as he came towards her. Her legs wrapped under her. "Repla! Are you all right, love?" he spoke, shaking his head slowly before dropping his voice in the process. "I'm sorry Repla. This is all my fault. If I had a piece of land to call my own, you wouldn't be out in this weather. You'd be safe. Our baby would be safe. I know it's my fault, love. And I'm so, so sorry." As soon as he finished though he turned away and she felt herself break a little. "Lao. Darling." she whispered before struggling to her feet. Immediately she fell down again but she pulled out and touched her maw to his forelock. "I don't care. This isn't your fault. Even if we did have a place of our own I could have fallen on that land anyways. It's the middle of winter, there is a bunch of ice everywhere. Please. Don't be blaming yourself..." she fought back. She tried to stand once more, her feet slipping on the ice again and causing her to hurtle back down again. "Lao. Help me up please.." she said, nuzzling his fetlocks as it was but all she could reach. "Darling, talk to me?" she muttered, beginning to shiver under the layers of snow... LAOCH
Lao turned, the anguish evident on his face. "Oh, Repla, you say it's not, but let's face it; it is. It's my fault that we're out here, in who-knows-where, in the middle of what's becoming a blizzard. It's my fault that we're tramping around together in the ice instead of somewhere safe and warm. It's my fault that you're pregnant!" He gasped, wishing he could bite the words back. They hung in the chilly air between them, and suddenly, he was angry, angry at himself. Whirling, he kicked at the snow furiously. How could he say something like that? He'd never been so ashamed. "Repla..." His voice broke. "Repla, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. I want this baby as much as you do; I want a family, love. I just don't want to end up like...like some drifter, roaming all his life when he has a mate and a family to protect. I don't want to end up like...him. When they used to torment me about my father, Repla, I was always so sure that he was a good stag. He had to be good. He was my father. And now...now I'm just not sure anymore. I want our baby to have a sire that he can be proud of. And how can he be, if he is born into a world like this?! Tucked away on another stag's land, nothing to inherit when he's grown. Oh, Repla, you say that you don't care, but I do! Iwant this for you. I want this for our baby." His voice was almost a whisper now, and he hung his head, too ashamed to look her in the eye. "I'm sorry, Repla. You deserve better."

No one knows how to say that their sorry and dont worry im not telling lies but mu dreams, they arent as empty The minute the words spewed from his mouth Repla had pulled herself to her feet. "No. NO. JUST NO!" she hissed. Pinning her ears. "Stop blaming your damn self. And obviously you didnt want this baby. That is obvious. You never HAD to! Never!" she screeched, the pain in her heart breaking through in her voice as she spun around, tears sliding down her face. She took off at a harsh gallop away from which they had come before. Away from him. Away from his nonsense. Her sobs heaving her body as she stopped at a cave well hidden in the brush. He was pissed. All she could remember was him kicking at the snow, and part of her was glad it hadnt had been her. She choked on her sobs, collapsing at the back of the cave where the snow had disappeared and curling up tightly to keep the heat with her. "Im so sorry, baby. So dearly sorry..." she whispered, her maw against her stomach as she spoke before she hid it under her foreleg in an attempt to stay warm. What was going on with Lao? This wasnt who he was. And he was slowly scaring her... [/blockquote] ==Into the mind .206 words .behind blue eyes

I was playing back a thousand memories, baby, Thinking 'bout everything we've been through...
"No. NO. JUST NO! Stop blaming yourself! And obviously you didn't want this baby. That is obvious. You never HAD to! Never!" Repla screamed, before bursting into tears. She took off before he could stop her, stumbling back along the way they came. He didn't go after her.
He stood, stock still, watching, numbed by her words. "...you didn't want this baby..." "...you never HAD to...!" But it was the last word that struck a blow to his heart most severely, the word she had spat before running off and leaving. "Never."
Never. The exact opposite of his promise to her. "Forever..." he whispered under his breath, turning slowly and moving away from her. Had this promise been so wise? He reached the top of the crest of snow, pushing it out of the way. Without looking back, he began his descent. As he walked, he thought. Had it been spoken too soon? For forever meant, well, forever. But when he thought of forever, it was always Repla's face he saw, her sweet beautiful face, looking up at him, eyes trusting. Images flashed before his eyes of his mate: her on the rocky slope, her silhouette in the crystal room, that night on the beach...did he want this baby? And even if he hadn't, would he have said anything, since she obviously did? He thought of how happy she had been these past few weeks, knowing that she was carrying their child. And he thought of himself, proud, so proud. But always with worry niggling at the back of his mind...Suddenly the pieces fell into place. Of course he wanted this baby! He wanted it more than anything; this was his chance to start anew, to give this one what he'd never had. This was why he'd not been able to stop thinking about land; he wanted their baby to grow up on a piece of territory he could protect, a little bit of land away from the world where they could be safe and happy, without fear or anxiety. Yes, he wanted this child. But she'd said that it was obvious that he didn't...
He considered what he'd said, cringing anew at the words. Her hurt expression flickered across his face, and suddenly, his eyes stung. He had to make it better. He didn't know how, but he couldn't bear to see her like that, knowing she was hurting and that he was the source of her pain. "Forever means forever, love," he murmured. Laoch turned and headed back the way he had come. He would find her.
--behind the post-- If This Was a Movie he had to take a little walk to collect his thoughts, but now he is coming back (:
Maybe I've been going back too much lately, When time stood still and I had you...

Fully alive more than most ready to smile and love life fully alive... Repla continued forwards, not paying attention to how fast she was going or what she was even doing anymore. She turned to the left, heading out of the forest and beginning to follow the edge of a stream. Where exactly was she going? Unknowing she kept trudging onward. Her whole body slowly succumbing to the cold when she finally saw the opening of a cave. Sliding into it she stumbled upon a pack of wolves. She curled backwards, shuffling as quickly in the snow as she could before turning around and bolting. The wolves didn't quite enjoy the sudden appearance of her and they pounced at her. She felt claws dig into her pelt and then a sudden sharp pain as her muscles in her hind legs burned. Kicking out she heard a sickening crunch and then the whimpering of the wolves as they retreated. Trudging forwards she began to drag her injured hind legs. The snow becoming stained with the blood as she continued moving back towards the hill. Would he be there? After all she had screamed at him. She had blamed him. They had just fought and she had been horrible. She wouldn't blame him if he was gone. But right now she needed him more than anything.
She continued moving until she reached the top of a hill, looking out over the snow covered terrain she saw nothing. She attempted to move forwards but her legs gave out and she collapsed at the top - trembling uncontrollably and pain searing through her body. The snow continued to fall, sliding onto her coat, beginning to cover her. She stayed there until she was completely covered in an inch of it, just her nostrils and flicking ears managing to be rid of the snow. Her eyes closed and her breathing slow - painful. Tears streamed down her face but quickly froze over as it rested upon her cheeks under the snow.
Part of her doubted she would ever be found alive... [/blockquote] ==into the mind .331 words . Poor repla...

Come back, come back, come back to me like you would, you would if this was a movie...
The first thing he saw was the blood. He came upon her, half buried in the snow, with bloody hindquarters and closed eyes. Oh horror. What had he done?? A thousand thoughts raced through his mind, what had he done, what had he done? This was his fault, he'd cursed their child, she'd had a miscarriage, how else could there be so much blood, oh horror, horror, horror...!
"Repla!" he gasped, pushing the snow violently away. "Repla! Repla, speak to me! I'm sorry!" He could see the frozen tears on her face, and could barely make out the shallow rise and fall of her ribs. No, she was still alive, but it mustn't end this way. He dropped to his knees in the snow beside her unconscious form, rubbing warmth back into her with vehement motions of his muzzle, pressing against her in an attempt to warm her. She couldn't have been here that long; ha had only been gone for a quarter of an hour, but in this weather....
"Please, Repla...don't leave me..."
