Walk softly dont wanna disturb the dead is it an enemy in front of me or have i been misled Repla awoke to the sound of his voice reaching her ears. Part of her assumed it was a dream and tried to lull her back to sleep. But the majority of her pulled her into consciousness like a shock to her system. Her eyes slowly opened, breathing gently returning to normal. She tried to move her hindlegs only to get the searing pain again. She pinned her ears and let out a tiny cry of pain. The feeling of a maw rubbing warmth into her system caused her to focus on the world. Lao, right there, pleading with her to stay with him. "The.... W-wolves... W-where are they?" she stuttered, nudging his shoulder and coughing quietly. "I tried... I tried to find shelter only to find wolves... I tried coming back... Followed i thought..." she said fear filling her system as she fought to go in closer to him - to the warmth - to the protection. "Lao... Im so sorry for snapping at you... It just hurt... And i know that doesnt excuse it..." she whispered, looking up and touching her maw to his. "will you forgive me if we ever make it out of here?" She shifted. More pain appeared and she oet out another cry.
She didnt know if she would be able to walk... [/blockquote] ==into the mind .221 words .Scene change the white tie affair

Come back, come back, come back to me like You could, you could if you just said you're sorry...
When he saw her stir, he clung tighter, reassuring himself that her side was moving and that her heart was beating. She was still alive. But what of their foal? He bit his lip, deciding for the moment not to ask, not to tempt fate while she was still weak.
"Wolves, Repla? Shhh, easy now, lay back. You're safe. I won't let anything hurt you..."
He rubbed his muzzle along her spine soothingly, heart pounding in his throat. He'd almost lost her. He'd almost lost Repla. "No, Repla, forgive me. It was horrible of me to say that to you, love. Truly horrible. And I'm sorry, love, ever so sorry."
Moving his muzzle down her outstretched neck, he reached for her ear, whispering, "I didn't meant it to some out that way, Repla. I want you to know that I will always love you and that I do want this baby. I know that it might seem irrational, Repla, but I want this land for us so badly..." --behind the post-- If This Was a Movie no comment
...I know that we could work it out somehow But if this was a movie you'd be here by now

Again, we break down inside Love save the empty Love save the empty, and save me... Repla shuddered, the cold wind pulling in around her tighter and tighter. Her muscles - seizing up as the cold air began to attempt to freeze her into a statue like place. Her heart beginning to slow down. Ba-dum. Ba-dum. Ba-dum. Ba-a-du-um. Ba-a-du-um. Ba-a-a-du-um. Ba-a-a-du-u-um. She let out a short cough, flicking her ears around as she concentrated on his beating heart. If only she could force her heart to match his. If only it could work that way. But nothing as complicated as love ever worked like that. His voice hit her ears as she felt him pull her closer to him. "Wolves, Repla? Shhh, easy now, lay back. You're safe. I won't let anything hurt you..." he spoke, and his words comforted her. Ba-a-a-ah-du-u-um. Ba-a-a-ah-du-u-um. No. Her heart needed to beat faster.
She broke a little, looking up at him for a few seconds before closing her slate-grey eyes and burying her head into his chest, hearing the beating of his heart distinct against hers. Da-da-dum. Da-da-dum. Da-da-dum. Da-da-dum. Just keep up with his heart. Just keep up with it. If you keep up with it you will do fine. You'll be alive. He spoke again - her heart still beating at the same slow rhythm and her breathing also beginning to slow down more than normal, "No, Repla, forgive me. It was horrible of me to say that to you, love. Truly horrible. And I'm sorry, love, ever so sorry." He was rubbing his muzzle along her back almost hypnotically. Follow his breathing. Just keep following his breathing. Slowly her breathing began to match his and he allowed his muzzle to run down her outstretched neck and then to her ear. His hot breath tickling it as she shifted a bit letting out a tiny snort. "I didn't mean for it to come out that way, Repla. I want you to know that I will always love you and that I do want this baby. I know that it might seem irrational, Repla, but I want this land for us so badly..." he explained.
Repla forced herself to look up again. "I don't blame you... I don't blame you at all - if you regret this foal before we had something stable. I just... the war... I can't lose you." she broke off, holding back the tears as her heart began to jump-start from her anxiety. Ba-dum. Ba-dum. Ba-dum. Ba-dum. "I was afraid we wouldn't be able to have another chance... if we didn't take this opportunity..." she broke again, shuffling in a bit closer to him, her hind-legs beginning to sear in pain at the movement again. "I know... I know. I'm overreacting. It's just. I want to know that I'll have a part of you forever. I just. I can't risk losing you. I don't know how I'll live..." she paused, shaking her head and burying it against his chest once more. "That sounds really dependent. God. I'm a wreck. I don't even really remember what we are doing out here in the first place." she felt her body shudder as the cold began to steal into her body again. "Lao. I'm really cold..."
Her audits continued to flick around. Her rabbit hopping around the two of them - amused by the fact that no matter what happened they always seemed to get back to each other. But Repla was simply getting worse in this cold. No matter how much body heat Laoch provided, without the protection from the snow and wind she would continue to slide downhill. She shuddered, her slate eyes closing once more to hide the pain and fear that was in her eyes. "I'm sorry for scaring you like th-" she winced as the snow fell into her wound causing her to pull her leg around a little messing with it and aggitating it. "-like this. I really am. I love you, my warrior - my Lao." she finished.
She fought for a bit to keep her eyes open. But, after a while it was beginning to become too much. Her eyelids were getting droopy. It felt as if she had a ton attached to them attempting to get them to close. Why couldn't she stay awake? No she needed to get out of here. She needed to stay awake. She needed to be able to get onto her feet. She needed to be able to move. She needed to be able to not scare Lao to death. She needed to not die.
Though, against her deepest complaints and her strongest will her eyes fell closed and her heart beat slowed down again.

LAOCH
Repla's sweet voice was melodious even in pain, and for a moment he remembered how she'd sung to him that day, remembered them in the icy cold water with her voice ringing off of the dripping walls...
"It'll be okay, love, it'll be okay," he repeated, rubbing her more vigorously, pressing closer, fighting what he knew was a losing battle. He glanced around searching for shelter. They couldn't stay out here in this weather. Slightly to his left were a few scrawny pines, to the right were a few more bordering a forest, and behind him lay the hill and the way they had already come. The right interested him, perhaps they'd be able to shelter in the forest? He rose, whispering "I'll be close, Repla. I'm right here." Lao surveyed the trees, making his way past the fringe of smaller pines. The forest thickened up ahead, still cold, but not icy where the trees didn't allow the snow through. He nodded thoughtfully, before realizing there were knotty roots tangled everywhere. With Repla's condition, he did not like the look of them. Not at all. She could trip, catch her hoof in a hole...a hole. Before him a gaping hole in the earth lay, surrounded by entwined pine roots. Four large trees surrounded it, sheltering it from the wind. The inside was padded with fragrant pine needles and moss, and he glanced up though the overhang that the roots had created. A faint smell of wolves lingered, though he could tell that this place had been long abandoned. Ironic that Repla should heal in what may have been a former wolves den after they had been the ones to attack her.
Coming to a decision. he clambered out of the pit, shaking his mane and making his way back to his mate. "Repla," he called gently, reaching her side. A light snow had begun to fall. "Repla, love, I think I've found a place..."

A drop in the ocean A change in the weather I was praying that you and me might end up together... Repla's mind bobbed in and out of consciousness. She could feel the cold air. Her breathing slowly pulling away. Edging into nothingness. She tried to move but her whole body decided it was best to stay as she was - even if it meant death. It was too difficult. She couldn't seem to stay in one state for long. No matter how hard she fought her eyes wouldn't open. she was shuddering. Her voice was caught in her throat. She couldn't move. She couldn't do anything. Not even when she wanted to. No matter how much she tried she couldn't. During one of her periods where she managed to fall back into consciousness she could hear Lao's voice. "It'll be okay, love, it'll be okay," he was saying to her. His maw attempting to rub warmth back into her body. But she couldn't seem to get warm. Not with all of the snow. Not will all of the wind. Not with the weather the way it was.
He got up though. And she slipped back into unconsciousness her body curling up tighter and tighter into herself. Subconsciously afraid of what would happen if she were to allow herself to go without some attempt of keeping warm. The snow began to pile up on top of her. Slowly creating an odd form of warmth. Her ears flat against her skull in another attempt to keep them warm as her tail wrapped around the curled up form of her body.
She slid back into the world and saw that he wasn't there. She began to think that the whole encounter had simply been a dream. She couldn't do that. He needed to be here. Her heart beat speed up drastically. Badum.Badum. Badum-badum-badum. Badum-badum-badum. She didn't know what was going on. But if that hallucination had been real she needed to find him. Even if it hadn't been real it was a sign. They couldn't be apart. She needed him and he needed her. She pulled herself onto her feet. Though, she only managed a few steps before she crumbled to the ground again. "Lao... Please don't let me have hallucinated that. Please no..." she broke, attempting the stand again but this time not even making it any farther forwards.
She could have sworn she saw the moments in the cliffs area. The moments where they had messed around. The moment when she had given herself up to him. When they had become trapped in the cave and she had trusted him with everything she had. He had saved her then. He would save her now. That was the way that he was. He wouldn't leave her. Would he? She felt her heart break just a little as she lay there - her mind officially given up on the idea of ever making it out of here.
"Repla, love, I think I've found a place..." she heard as her mind slowly came back into the real world. She lifted her head up slowly and saw him at her side. Shuffling to her feet she clumsily fell into his side. "I don't know how much longer I can make it..." she choked out, feeling tears sliding into her eyes as she buried her head behind his shoulder and took in a few short breaths. As he moved forwards she followed him her whole body giving her a hard time and threatening to collapse with each stride. "I'm sorry... that I'm not as strong as you. I'm weak and useless..." she finished off, her voice no louder than a whisper and she fought to stay standing - not wanting to disappoint Lao.
She hated how weak she was. She hated that she couldn't be stronger no matter how hard she tried. And she hated that if he were to be the one in trouble that she wouldn't be able to help him... LAOCH
Repla leaned into his side, and together they stumbled along. Tenderly, he did his best to guide her over the roots and into the hollow out of the wind. "It's all right, it's all right," he repeated over and over, perhaps more to himself than to her. The blood dripped behind them onto the fresh snow and the brown pine needles, and he could feel it trickle down his side where he supported her.
They collapsed together in the safety beneath the trees, though he immediately got up and began to cover her with dry leaves and needles, anything he could find that would keep her warm. If he hadn't left...it had been for such a short time, but if he hadn't left...
Stop it. You're being ridiculous. Focus on the problem. You can't change what happened, but you can do something now. he told himself sternly. Trying to wipe the blood away from her wound, he did his best to make her comfortable. He fussed over her until he realized that he was no longer doing her any good, then lay down next to her. Now came the worst part: the wait.
Massaging her neck gently, he began to talk to pass the time, in his slow, deep voice, trying to reassure them both. "I'm here Repla. I'm here. I won't go anywhere, love...sleep now, Repla, I'll keep you safe. I love you..." For hours he laid there, carefully watching the way her side moved rhythmically up and down, up and down. While she slept, he warily eyed the wound. Please let the baby be all right...
For he didn't know if Repla had miscarried. With all of the blood, it was impossible to tell. Besides, what did he know about miscarriage? He worried silently; he couldn't bear to ask Repla, especially now. Repla's eyelids fluttered, and he exhaled quietly. When he was certain that she was asleep again, he gently pressed his muzzle to her belly, murmuring in a whisper, "Please be there, please be...alive. Papa loves you..." His throat closed and he couldn't continue. If this baby lived-please let it live-he would do his best to father it the right way. He wouldn't run off and leave Repla to care for their child herself, to defend it from the world. Their baby deserved a future. If only it could survive long enough to have one...

Goodbye my almost lover goodbye my hopeless dreams i tried not to bring you heartache cant you just let me be... Repla slept - her wound slowly healing. It was exhausting her though. And everything was painful. She knew she still had the baby. For that she was grateful. But at the moment her fear of wolves had heightened drastically. "whats... What is happening?" she whispered, burying her head against his chest. She had lost a lot of blood - but she wasnt losing anymore at the moment which was a good sign. "Im sorry for scaring you Lao. Im not going anywhere - the baby isnt going anywhere - I promise. Just dont give up on me, 'kay..." she said before nudging his cheek a little bit, playfully. She wanted to see him smile. She wanted to know he didnt blame himself. "You'll get to play tag with me again. I just have to heal, and hope they didnt tear up any muscles..." she whispered her voice catching as fear took over. Immediately she forced her eyes closed and pulled in a bit closer to him. "Im sorry. It smells... Like wolves..." she shuddered - the images of nearly being dragged to the ground and the searing pain fresh and replaying in her mind as her whole body began to tremble slightly. She tried to push it out but it didnt work...
She just wanted to be okay again. She wanted to be strong for Lao. But she couldnt... [/blockquote] ==into the mind .233 words .Poor repla - she is suffering from acute stress disorder.

LAOCH
The snow fell softly outside the former den, blanketing the world beyond the forest in a white layer. Lao raised his head and peered above the roots that sheltered him and his mate. If this kept up, they could be stuck here. They couldn't be trapped here; not with Repla like this and food so scarce. He glanced at her anxiously as she lay beside him. She was better than she had been a week ago, but she was still weak. And with the baby, he was concerned about her condition. Lao snorted quietly, sending a puff of misty breath into the frosty air, then rose, shaking his mane and stretching his legs.
"I'll be right back, love, just out to stretch a bit. How are you feeling?" he whispered to Repla, muzzle brushing her ear. He touseled her forelock affectionately before striding out of the hollow, clambering into the silence of the woods. Once outside, he set off pacing back and forth in front of the opening. What were they going to do? It was growing colder by the day, and Repla was in no condition to winter here, and even if she was, there was barely anything to eat. Thinking of this, he glimpsed a tuft of dried grass out of the corner of his eye, and he yanked at it, hoping to bring it to Repla.
Lao wandered back to the den, where he found Repla sitting up, lying on her belly. "Got you something!" he said playfully, dropping the grass at her knees. "Sorry, Repla, it was all there was." He exhaled, reaching over and massaging her neck as she nibbled at the dried roots. "Repla, I wish it hadn't come to this, but do you feel strong enough to walk? We need to leave here. I don't know where we can go, but we can't stay here with the snow in such a tree-filled area. You need to eat."
He paused, wheels turning in his head. If not here, then where would they go? Somewhere where Repla could recover--maybe they should go south? But would more food be enough to get Repla back in good health? Slowly, an idea began to nudge at his mind, a flash of gold passed through his mind. Rasta. The golden mare. The Alpha of the North. He remembered the days of the war, remembered stories of her healing powers. Rasta could help them. They must go north.
--behind the post-- yup. Lao's got an ideaaa...!

Tell me what you want cause we can do just what you like you make me feel the la-la-la-la-love Repla let out a tiny sigh, munching on the roots as much as she could before swallowing it. Slowly she pulled herself to her feet before looking over to him. "Then lets go," she said stretching out her legs. She needed to eat. He needed to eat. Amd everyone needed to stop worrying. The sooner he stopped worrying about losing her the sooner she would be able to fully heal. A tiny laugh escaped her lips as she reached his side. Another couple layers of fluff was upon her pelt and she really did look like - for lack of better words - a fluff-ball. Gently she nudged his shoulder and gave him a smile. "Love you. We will make it. Promise," she said before starting out into the white, but completely calm world. The wind had stopped and the sun was out. Though it was atill unbearably cold it wasnt nearly as bad as it had been recently. [/blockquote] ==into the mind .162 words .she is so happy. New thread?
