The snow covered only half of the grass that I walked through. My muzzle brushed against the tips of the grass, catching any scents of horses that have come here before me. I only come here to be at peace with myself, to force myself to forgive whatever burdens I still have about my past. My neck raises, lifting my head up to the sky, soft flakes falling onto my forehead. My soft forelock fell to the right, slowly getting colder as the flakes froze onto it. A heavy sigh escaped my lips as I kept on walking, a lazy step with nowhere to go. My eyes found a small bunch of trees, the grass looked smaller and a lot less dense then that of what was out here. I walked towards it, hoping it would shield my agile form from the thick clumps of snow. Once I was under the cover of the frozen branches I shook off my chestnut pelt and light mane. I nibbled at the frozen grass, it wasn't that great in the first place, but it was the only source of food and water at this moment.

Ixori's eyes roved ahead of her, taking in every detail of her surroundings. Despite herself, a slight smile perched upon her dark face as she waded through the lush grass, sprinkled with snow. She gently lowered herself down into the snowy turf, spraying a cloud of whiteness as she rolled. Semita Diversis was truly a winter wonderland. She loved beauty, perhaps because she was so devoid of it herself. It gave her joy to know that even when she peered into a crystal pool and saw nothing but strangeness looking back at her, she could still appreciate the beauty around her. She was not a pretty mare. She had never been, not even from birth, and the elexir's she had aquired had only served to add to the strangeness of her appearance. Stripes and symbols graced her pelt, intertwining to make for a tatooed appearance, their violet luster as bright as her eyes. Having resigned herself to constant rejection, Ixori had chosen to intentionally make herself different, to walk further down the path of one who cares little for companionship. She no longer minded, or at least that is what she told herself, the stares the accompanied her wherever she went. Her appearance and manner set her apart. If she could not be loved, then at least she would be someone, for she refused the status of a nonentity. She had seen the other mare from quite some distance off and had almost chosen to circumvent her so that she would not have to put up with the company of another. She was enjoying herself alone in this beautiful land. She had finished her delicious roll and was about avoid the cluster of trees the contained the other mare, but in the end, she found herself walking towards it. How had that happened? Oh well, she did not mind for she had no qualms against breaking off contact at whim. "Hello," she called out in what she hoped what a cheerful voice as she approached the chestnut.

My muzzle grazed various trees, searching for any scents that could tell me if I was in danger or not. I found none so far. I shook out my mane once again, shards of frozen snow flew off of it violently. I glanced behind me, seeing a plume of snow fly into the sky, my brow furrowed, my mind racing, wondering what was out there. I watched, another horse rose from the tall grass. It was a mare, her markings tattooing her body permanently. They were intricate and bright on her fur. I shorted softly, but felt as if that's what I looked like inside, under my bright chestnut coat. "Hello," I heard her call. I dipped my head slightly and brought it back up, "Hello," I replied, my soft voice carrying over the snowy breeze. She approached and my ears pricked forward. I took a step toward her, seeing she was unsure of coming over. She seemed so confident, walking with her appearance like no other horse I've seen. She was brave to walk so strong. I didn't judge though, all equids have their own way of showing who they are, who they want to be. I accepted that in all horses.

The mare stepped out from the shelter of the trees, to peer intently at Ixori. There was something in her gaze that Ixori liked. It appeared to be something akin to admiration. Ixori liked the feeling of being admired, though the look could have easily been something entirely different. She tilted her head quizzcally, peering at the other. The chestnut seemed to have a friendly manner about her and Ixori felt herself relax a bit. It was nice to meet someone who you did not have to defend yourself against constantly. Memories of Vigor and Rama were still fresh in her mind. She decided that she too could be friendly, especially to this mare. She liked mares quite a bit better than stallions, so long as the mares did not try to put on airs. She heard a like response to her greeting and since this one seemed nice enough, Ixori allowed herself to smile at her. Smiles at other equines did not come naturally. "I am Ixori," she said, introducing herself in a to-the-point manner. She did not like meaningless pleasantries. .................. Just a reccomendation, it might be easier if you typed in third-person, as trying to mix the two in a RPG can get a little hard, and everyone here uses third-person. Just a suggestion.

The mare watched as the other mare let my friendly reaction sink in. Her smile made Vera relax, her mane shook from side to side, ridding of the last few crystals of snow. Relief came to the mare's body, knowing she would have some company for the time being. Even if it was only for a few minutes, or and hour, she was glad to not be alone. Another thought was that she was accompanied by a mare, so she wouldn't have to have such a high guard. "I am Ixori" Her auds registered as the other mare spoke. "My name's Vera" Her voice simply said, bobbing her head once. The mare's eyes looked out into the field again, the white high grass covering every inch of the Earth. A small sigh came from her body as she turned her attention back to the mare. She remembered a time, she was so close to having a mate, a family even, but it all slipped away in a single day. A single, freezing day. The thought passed by as fast as it came, she blocked it out as much as she could. Right now was not the time for remorse. Her head rose and she looked over the mare again, her pelt truly was amazing in a sense.

Ixori caught the sigh emanating from Vera. She had previously noticed that the mare seemed a bit distressed, if only inwardly. She would seem to retreat within herself in gloom, then shake out of it again. Ixori shifted uncomfortably. She always felt trapped and uneasy around those who were suffering, especially mentally. She wanted to help but simply was not cut out for the job. She flicked a midnight ear, wondering whether she should ask what was bothering Vera. She wanted to, but the words would not come out. She was momentarily distracted by a little glimmer beneath the roots of a young aspen, still devoid of its leaves. She knew it would not be long before it began to show its first signs of spring budding. She stepped carefully to its base and peered down. Partially obscured by snow and dead grass lay a crimson bracelet, woven of sweetgrass. She bent her head and took it in her mouth carefully, as not to mar the intricate weaving. “It’s beautiful,” she murmured.

Vera The orbs of the mare glanced in the direction of where the mare had started to stride toward. A glint from under the roots caught her eye. A small smile broke out onto her face, "It's beautiful," The mare heard her murmur. "Oh, lucky you, it is quite beautiful," She relied, but her vision darted toward a rock, another glint came from just under it's edge. Her hoof gently nudged the rock aside, revealing a cream and white bracelet made of curved, thin clam shells. She took in a sharp breath, "Look, another one," Her voice carried over to the other mare. She turned her head to look at the crimson bracelet and the other fae that accompanied her. "We both must be lucky," Her tone seemed a bit happier than before. The battle with her mind was over for the moment, "I wonder if someone lost them," Her mind was now trying to decide if they should keep the beautiful accessories or if they should keep them. "Should we try and find their owners? I have no clue who they would be..." She commented, but knew it would probably be hopeless. The white wonderland would cloud out their vision and cover up any tracks other equines made. Plus, someone could just lie and say it was theirs because they were both very beautiful.

Ixori only half heard Vera's question. She was carefully slipping the bracelet onto her right foreleg, yet another colorful adornment upon her black pelt, if not a permanant one. "Owners? Oh no, there has been no one here for a very long time and these would have become battered and damaged, had they been lost long ago. I do wonder what enchantment has placed them here," she added, mostly to herself. For the land was full of enchantments, some of which were embodied on Ixori's very coat. Nothing but a potion could have caused such exotic and brilliant coloring. Suddenly, the world seemed magical. The snow sparkled like so many frosty diamonds and the air was crisp and clear. Ixori decided that she was happy, a feeling she had not experianced for a very long time.

Vera The mare's balance shifted as she wondered if she should really accept this gift. A short sigh escaped her lips as she watched Ixori slip the bracelet on. Then, she slid the bracelet onto her left foreleg. The fae admired her new accessory, silently thanking whoever placed these things in their path. Her eyes shifted back to the mare, who seemed to look so much more happy. Her head tilted slightly, allowing her forelock to fall to the side. "You seem much happier Ixori, has the bracelet cast an spell on you?" She asked, but hoped she was just discovering that she could be happy in life. The snow fell much softer now, though the sky was still cluttered with dark clouds, making the area look dreary. 127 words sorry for the shortness :/
