text "speech" thoughts "other characters' speech"
The air was cool around him, signaling the coming of a new season. A colder one, and he smiled. It had been six months since he began his advance into the neighboring lands, a whole half of a year, and here he stood with the West and South under his control, and the North sprawled out in front of him. He had chosen to return to the East to move forward because of the space. The South was full of trees and the West was full of mountains, but the East was mostly flat lands and meadows, leaving plenty of room for a battle. Though, the battle would be fought just across the broken borders and in the North. He wasn't sure how many equines had taken refuge here, but he hoped there wasn't that many. Taking a glance at his own warriors, spread across a field gaining as must rest as they could, he felt confident. Though, all anyone had done so far was run or beg for mercy by joining him; he hoped his army was ready to face whatever lay just beyond the trees. He hadn't see much activity, and as far as he knew, neither of the Alphas knew he was there. They were not prepared. Probably out trying to gather as many able-bodied equines as they could before he struck out against them again, but it would be far too late. He smiled again. Victory was just inches away, so close he could feel it, smell it, reach for it. It was just right there! He wouldn't let it get away again. Never. Not unless they killed him. This would all be his. He was destined for it. He was Lord Ramaskith! He turned, away from the North and faced his army. This was the final stand. Everything would come to an end soon and he was excited. Everything he had been working for was falling into place. It was just perfect. He inhaled the crisp autumn air and picked up a trot, arching his neck and skimming the ground easily. He stopped once they were all in ear shot, and stood tall, confident in everything that the future entailed.
"Today we strike against the North. Everything has been leading up to this point. Our enemies stand just a short distance aways and we cannot allow them to mock us any longer! We will fight back and show them just how strong we really are, and what they should be afraid of. They may have laughed at our intentions before, but we will show them differently. Make this a day to remember, a day to celebrate! A day that others will talk about for centuries because of our victory! We will not fail. We can only go forward form here, and that we will. We will rise to the top! And we will crush anyone who stands in our way." His voice graudually got higher and higher, almost bellowing the words near the end. The truth he felt in the words he spoke ran through the air, and anyone standing in front of him couldn't help but feel the same. They couldn't help but want to fight, even if they weren't there willingly. They felt Ramaskith's need to be on top, his need to conquer and stand where he believed he rightfully stood. Everyone understood in that moment, exactly what they were fighting for and they were more than willing to follow the white, black and crimson stag across the borders. Into enemy territory. As they did it was as if something in the air broke. Something shattered and fell apart, the area swept across with air that had no origin. The final border had been crossed, it was a free for all. Ramaskith was attacking, and they better be ready. If they weren't, Rama smiled, if they weren't, it would make this a whole lot easier. The end was already determined, there was no changing it. Oser would be dead at his feet and he claimed all of Forma Silvestris from himself. The only thing that today determined was how many others had to die for this one stag and this one land. How many? He was betting on a lot.
Ramaskith smiled, transitioning from a walk to a slow canter, his army following suit. Oh Rasta, oh Oser, where are you hiding? He could smell the blood already, victory just around the bend.

It feels like the dawn of the dead, like bombs going off in my head, never a moment of rest, yeah nothing kills more than to know this is the end of the road Rasta snorted, tossing her head up in the air. Where was everyone? This war - this stupid war - was cornering in on her territory and everyone seemed to have disappeared. She flicked her maw upwards, feeling the skimming of feathers against her maw reassuring her that she was not completely alone. Renegade was above her, flying steadily and not daring to leave her side. Dropping her maw closer to the ground she kicked up her heels - feeling the oncoming threat of Rama's army as it came towards her. She slowly began to pull back. She couldn't fight on her own. Where were those that had said they would fight for her? Why was she so suddenly alone in such a time as this? She was now carrying Taj's child in her womb. She couldn't be killed but she would have to fight. as much as she opposed war she did not let her warriors fight without her also out there. It was but only fair. But, when there was no one there to help her fight she would not become so entrapped in a battle which she knew she would never leave. If she died and Taj was immortal she would never forgive herself for what she made him do only to live in suffering - knowing that his mate and his child were no longer there, no longer a part of him. That was the worse punishment and she would not willingly give Rama such ammunition to destroy her lands with - to destroy the one which she loved with. Taj, she needed to find Taj. She needed to find Karuk, or Rhise, or Lao, or anyone really who was even so willing to help her fight. Where was Oser? Where was his huge battle plan? Where was his army most importantly? Where was everything that was supposed to fight the evil.
Good triumphs over evil - she no longer believed that... [/blockquote] ==into the mind .321 words .Rasta isn't... very optimistic all alone. XD

I hopelessly, helplessly, wonder why Everything gotta change around me I'd tell it to your face But you lost your face along the way Oser turned to the small force behind him, doing his best to conceal his anxiety as he counted heads—not promising. Most of the warriors had gone west with Laoch, and now he was left with only the remaining volunteers from the north. Only this morning, a messenger had brought him the news that the western border had fallen to Laoch, but he knew that it would be impossible for those troops to come to the north’s aid so quickly. This army was on its own.
Nervously, he paced back and forth before his troops, letting the steady thrum of hs hoofbeats calm him. Forget about everything, he commanded himself. Raine, Song…Reliou…wipe them from your mind. The art of war certainly had been a lot easier when he hadn’t had them to hold him back, to remind him that he was quite capable of feeling, of grief, of guilt.
The time to fight was now though, word was that Ramaskith had crossed the border into Rasta’s lands. And Oser owed her his protection; he’d given her his word and he intended to keep it, no matter how grim the circumstances were. He’d already wasted the summer held back by his own overwhelming doubts, but if there was any hope of Forma Silvestris being saved from a tyrannical maniac. So they drew eastward, a silent procession headed to meet Ramaskith. He had to hand it to the northerners, they were surely brave or fiercely loyal to give up their lives for their queen in this manner. But then again, Rasta had always been a compelling cause.
”All right,” he told the impassive faces. ”We know the odds. We know our chances are slim. But we also know that we do this to protect what is most dear to us. And in that knowledge, we go forth to fight the Enemy. I’d tell you to be brave, but the fact that you stand here on the less-favored side while evil surrounds with its seemingly-inescapable snare speaks for itself. You already are brave. You already are loyal. I can ask for nothing more.”

The other appeared in front of him, in front of what he supposed was his army. Ramaskith smiled wickedly, moving forward faster. This was the moment when all hell broke loose. This was the moment when all bets were off. It was just him and Oser. Ugh, that name. He hated him. His eyes darkened as he lept forward, his warriors following. Vondur roared, making sure everyone knew they were coming, if the thundering of hooves wasn't enough. Ramaskith paid no attention to the others. His sights were only for the Other, for the one he would defeat. The one that was holding him back. The only threat that stood in his way. Such a glorious moment it would be once he fell. Once he was dead and these stupid, foolish traitors would have no one to command them. No one to look to. It would be only Ramaskith. It already was only he, they just couldn't accept it just yet. They would see though. They would all see how wrong they were.
Ramaskith didn't falter. He didn't hesitate. He continued forward, slowing just a bit and clashing right into the grey form of the Other. There would be no running this time. There was no where to go! This was it. This was the end. And one would fall and leave the other a victor. Ramaskith refused to fall. This was his chance, his moment, a moment he had been waiting for his whole life. There was no way it was slipping thrugh his fingers again. He would win. There was no other possible outcome. He would be Lord of Forma Silvestris. It was his destiny and nothing could stop him from it. Nothing.

And there he was, running towards him. The scene played in pictures before his eyes as the seconds ticked down toward their inevitable collision. Three…two…one… Their bodies slammed into each other with a force that took his breath away. Ramaskith was smiling, smiling all the while, that familiar glint in his eye as he stared at Oser. Unnerved, the grey stag broke eye contact and turned away, charging his opponent again from a new angle. This time, he heard bones break. Part of him realized that the sickening crunch came from both of them; Rama was striking out with powerful hooves, beating against his ribs like a drum that snapped instead of boomed. For the moment though, his adrenaline was too high for him to feel much of the pain. Around them, their warriors swirled in and out of deadly dances, some sinking to the ground lifeless in a final bow, while their enemies rushed onwards to find new partners. No one interrupted them though. These battles were always theirs and theirs alone. The hatred in the air was strangling him, and he pushed back with his own rage. This stag had taken everything from him, and still it wasn’t enough—now he wanted Rasta’s lands as well? Oser screamed in fury as his enemy landed atop him, pulling his muscles in a slow and agonizing motion. Oser struck out again, whirling, determined to pay him back equally. Equally, he never seemed to get him back evenly. Even now he thought about how things had gone after the war, how Rama had ended up in the fertile east lands while he had been allotted the rocky and treacherous west. No, Rama deserved a punishment far from equal to his own. He deserved something much, much worse. His mouth gaped, lips coated in blood as he ripped at his enemy’s flesh, tearing away with his teeth. The pair of them had entered battle light, but now they were bathed in each other’s blood. Oser struck out, once, twice, three times, aiming for Ramaskith’s head. Rearing up, he tried several times to land upon his opponent’s back and crush his spine, but was met each time with a painful slice to the belly. Never mind, never mind. Rama would get his fair share for once…
--behind the post-- I apologize for the wait Dx I don’t know what you want Rama’s injuries as, so I made the fight rather generic

Ramaskith smiled the whole time. Yes. This is what he had been waiting for. This is was what he was meant for. Fighting for his land! Fighting for his destiny! Oser knew it too, and so they both fought. The Other against him. The Other to be opressed! This would be the end of everything! They made eye contact and he smiled further, seeing the uncertainty and fear of him in his eyes. The Other looked away, pulling away though Ramaskith followed him. They clashed again, both breaking each other's bones. He didn't feel the pain though, he didn't even know which part of his body had been hit. All he was saw was the Other. All he saw was victory. He beat against the Other, feeling his ribs rush under his hooves. The Other continued fighting though, kept pushing on. He must fall! He would fall and Ramaskith would be the sole ruler! He caught the upper hand, landing on top of him and trying to push him to the ground, but he slid off, the Other twisting back around with new determination. He ripped at his skin, but Ramaskith only smiled and laughed, menacingly and morbidly, surely insane as he tore at his opponent as well. He started to rear, aiming for his spine but Ramaskith would not allow that. He jumped up as well, clashing hooves against hooves as they entered a deadly dance before both breaking away, unable to keep themselves up any longer. Ramaskith was getting angry now. The Other should have fallen already! He junged forward in fury, striking out at any part of him that moved. He was a flurry of hooves and teeth, sinking into any skin that he could get a hold of. Anything that was the Other. Kicking, bucking, biting, rearing; anything to get him to fall. He screamed in rage, a primitive sound from a bloodsoaked mouth.
==Author's Comments . Word Count 321 . Notes - I don't particularly care what his wounds are. *shrug* I don't really know where we're going with this though. xD How are they going to break apart? Ramaskith won't let him leave until he's dead. o: . Muse - alright . Tags - oser

Oser heard the maniacal scream, heard it pierce his brain and reverberate inside of him, pounding in his skull to get out, get out. And only when his throat was hoarse did he realize that the scream had long ceased being Ramaskith’s but was now his—his own scream sounding the death knell for the warriors that fell around them. He was enraged, furious; the ugly part inside of him had been aroused by the hatred in the air and now reared its head. This was not a fight for land, for nobility, for dignity, for Rasta, for higher purposes. This fight was for him, to settle his dominance over Ramaskith for once and for all. The stag bucked, sending flying hooves into Rama’s leering face. He would tear him apart! Teeth, slick with blood, glistened sickly as they reached again and again for the precious jugular vein hidden beneath the thin skin of his opponent’s throat like an unburied treasure just waiting to be brought to the light. Oh how gruesomely gorgeous that ruby lifeblood would be as it fountained from the pale throat to the mud beneath his hooves…
--behind the post— mreh :\ when is Rasta supposed to become a POW again? We could do that in this post—like Oser could knock him out or something, but Rasta has ventured too near the site of the battle and Ramaskith’s soldiers capture her in their retreat? Idk
