Tonight I kinda get the feeling My girl is up to something Something that is no good...It had been a few days since they had last been in the hidden valley that Lao had shown her. After he had attempted to leave her they had both broken down emotionally and become even closer attached to each other. After traveling without stopping they finally reached the bottom that resided in the south. It was getting much colder down here then it had been up top but it was also becoming increasingly darker. She shook out her coat looking back to where Lao had once been but she could no longer see him. In fact she couldn't even see the tip of her tail. "Lao! Lao! What's going on, where are you?" she called out, anxiety stressing her vocal chords so much that it nearly choked her voice back.
Stopping dead in her tracks she spun around in a circle, her whole body tensing up immediately. What was going on? No. The world was not supposed to get this dark this fast. Something was wrong. Something was completely and totally wrong. Again she called out for Lao this time her vocal chords scratching and tightening up so much that her voice died out halfway through. She couldn't stop her muscles from trembling as a cold wind blew through the place. What exactly was going on here. This wasn't normal. This wasn't right. It wasn't right at all.
The wind immediately blew in, shaking the last bits of her world around her. Blinking once to keep the dust out of her orbs she looked around again for the only form she knew. Tears coming to her eyes as the wind tried to dry them out when suddenly she saw a strange form lurking around nearby. Blinking again she finally managed to make out the form of another horse. Except, this horse was glowing. A horse wasn't supposed to glow! Edging forwards she attempted to touch it, only to have the part she did dissolve away until she was no longer in it's form. She let out a screech and doubled back just in time to have the world shake. "Lord save us..." she whispered before beginning to hum her lullaby. She needed to calm down. She needed this whole thing to be calm. But, nothing would. Nothing she could do would calm her down, and she knew she would be on edge until this phenomenon had ended...

LAOCH
Laoch surveyed the great expanse of blue-white before him, looking for a path ahead, any path that would take them out of these woods. Ironic, he thought, that the south lands would be the ones to have so much snow at this time. The temperature had dropped, and he let out an involuntary shiver despite his thickening, deep brown winter coat. However, he was content. He was here with Repla. And simply the fact that his mate was present made him happy to be anywhere, as long as she was too.
He ought to get back to her now, get off of this rise and back down to the mare who trekked on trustingly while he tried to find a route for them. Bounding down from the slight incline, he headed in her direction. He could her the clip-clop of her hooves on frost up ahead, and in his mind's eye, he could envision those slender red hips, swaying as she walked. Laoch quickened his pace, eager to catch up with her. The sky darkened ominously.
Quickly but gradually, clouds rolled in, obscuring the bright white moon and casting shadows on the frosty ground. The world was no longer blue and white, but grey and white, then charcoal...then black. Dark, deep blackness of the type that Laoch had only seen during times of war when the Alphas had been battling, locked in a deadly embrace in the center of the red field. Unease crept over him, and he heard Repla stop and circle. "Lao! Lao! What's going on, where are you?" Her voice sounded tight, coiled like a spring, worried. The last phrase was a whimper, panic sneaking into her anxious tone. That was all it took. He heeded the call, loping swiftly towards his love, clumsily running into outstretched branches in his haste.
When he reached her, she was humming, though not in love, but in fear. Coming up beside her, he reached out to massage her neck and felt her twitch at his unexpected touch. Repla really was on edge. The wind kicked in, and he drew closer in an effort to let his larger body warm her own. "I'm here, Repla. What is it?"

What do they know? They weren't there, didn't see her suffer....
1. 2. 3. 4. 1. 2. 3. 4. Shae's hoofbeats pounded the ground as anger bubbled inside of her, her mane lashed back by the wind in her sudden burst of speed. The sunst was a fiery red, reflecting in her amber eyes, and she screamed out in anger. No one knew. Whenever she was mentioned this happened. No one knew the pain her mother had went through every single day. And she had watched. Her father never even listened to her. She hated when people told her differently. They hadn't been there!
Shae hadn't realized, but now it was dark. A cold dark, and she shivvered uneasilly. Shae's ears flickered as she heared a strained voice. 'Lao! Lao! What's going on, where are you?' Who was Lao? And who was the holder of the voice? It sounded like a stag. Many thudding hoofbeats. Shae's eyes flickered over toward the sound, and she skiddered over there feeably. 'Hello?' Stupid. How stupid.
The darkness started getting even darker. How was this possible? She could barely see her own nose now. She could feel heat radiating off the other two, and could smell the fear licking her face along with the wind, which started to howl. The wind stung Shae's eyes and whipped her mane and tail around. And suddenly the ground started to shake. Another earthquake? What? It made her unstable out in the open, and one earsplitting crack and shake threw her off her feet and into the air, before thudding onto the ground, hitting her head hard. Stars popped out in front of her eyes and she blinked feeably. The wind was howling, lashing, whipping everything around, including Shae herself, along with the unstable ground. What was going on? All of her anger had desolved into fear as she clung to the ground, just laying there with the other two mystery equines.

She turns and says don't be surprised it's gunna be a good night, good good night... The white stag slid through the trees with a silent intention - to find where the whining, atrocity of a voice was resonating from. Yes, the massive amount of howling wind and clouded over skies were ruining his usual peace and quiet, but her voice, that whining nuisance of a voice, was ruining his whole calm approach into life. Swishing his charcoal and ivory tail so much that he could hear it swatting against his pelt he picked up his pace. Long, muscled legs were stretched out so much that his frame was elongated even more than it's original 16.3hh height. "Lao! Lao!" he mimicked, allowing his low voice to go screechy and high as he rolled his eyes and laughed. Shaking his head he allowed the wind to grasp onto his strands of mane and pull them back and outwards. Again, he lurched forwards only to be agitated by the sound of yet another voice. Once again, he caused his voice to reach it's highest point, "Hello?" he mocked, moving up against the second mare to speak, just in time to catch the appearance of a new stag and to have the ground shake uncontrollably. He laughed as he teetered between his left and right side while the earth shook, and then was still standing as soon as it ended, yet the mare closest to him had collapsed right in front of him. "That's just not safe," he warned, pinning his ears at her silently and then nipping at her shoulder, grasping some mane and yanking on it in the process. With one swift tap of his hoof against her side he moved away from her and towards the other stag which seemed so keen to have come to this mare's calls. "I'm assuming you would be the ever so glorious Lao," he said, sarcasm dripping from his lips as he spoke, swishing his tail and allowing it to hit the mare who was still lying on the ground and situated easily behind him. "I'm here. What is it?!" he mocked with yet another quick and snappy voice. With a laugh emerging from his lips he bowed his head jokingly and then actually spoke to the trio, "Too caring of horses here." he paused for dramatic effect, "This would be how you go about getting yourselves killed, my pretty, innocent darlings..." venom stuck to his voice as he circled the trio - once again making sure to allow his tail to fall upon the mare which lay on the ground. "Pretty little animals shouldn't dare venture out in this weather, let alone allow their voices to be heard in such a shrill, atrocious manner." he warned before snapping out like a cobra at Repla's face and managed to snag some skin, pulling it away and tasting the fresh blood upon his tongue. Swallowing it he pulled back from the trio. "Don't trust the dark..." he said, though he was no longer truly visible in this pitch black surroundings... [/blockquote] Mr Bring Me Down Well you like to bring me down don't ya But I ain't laying down, I ain't going down The roan bodice of the mare jerked away at Lao's original touch. Then, she realized who it was and she fell into his supportive shoulder, closing her eyes and forcing back the tears as the wind blew in ever so strongly into the area and was acting like a blinding substance. Shivering immensely she buried her head into his chest, feeling the warm radiating off of him. Though, as the earth shook she collapsed to the ground, immediately picking herself back up and leaning into Laoch again. She had heard the mocking tones which had come ever so closer to her and then the other questionably shaky tone of a "hello?" muttered to the world from another mare. Opening her eyes as she felt the wind begin to die down she forced herself to look around. Still, she saw nothing except pitch black. But, her ears were picking up a louder noise coming towards her. One heeding a warning. "This would be how you go about getting yourself killed, my pretty, innocent darlings..." he spoke and she stiffened up. Her muscles not daring to relax even with Lao right there. "Wh-who's t-the-there?!" she questioned, attempting to sound strong but not managing it at all. The wind blew in once more and pulled at her mane and tail, wrapping them tightly up against Laoch's body as she attempted to concentrate on finding the body of the voice who had spoken. Then, as soon as he was less than a foot from her face she saw him. A pure white substance, though black was clotting up his coat in random patterns. It was confusing, and for a moment she pondered that she might be imagining the whole event. But, when he spoke again she knew she wasn't imagining it. "Pretty little animals shouldn't dare venture out in this weather, let alone allow their voices to be heard in such a shrill, atrocious manner." She sunk back for a second only to return to a mouthful of her skin being yanked and broken. She reared back and up in fear and pain as she attempted to kick out at him with her legs but missing the figure easily. A shrill plight of pain emerged from her maw as she pinned her ears and pulled her body behind Lao. One last warning reached her ears before he disappeared, "Don't trust the dark...". Don't trust the dark?! Who in their right mind would trust the dark? The DARK? He was insane. Snorting once she felt the blood begin to seep into her nostrils and she was becoming agitated with just this new stag's presence. Fear radiated through her body when a glowing, light blue, see-through rabbit bounded through the forest and towards her. Situating itself in the middle of the tiny clearing everything was suddenly illuminated - though still eerily illuminated - and she could make out the appaloosa which had hidden on the outskirts of the clearing, holding back his laughter by the smug look upon his face. Repla was utterly confused though, as to why a glowing rabbit had suddenly appeared. Again, things were not supposed to glow. "Come closer, little rabbit..." she whispered, utterly confused, and it perked up it's ears, edging closer to her until it was completely under her frame, lighting up her red body and turning it purple from underneath. She snorted, dropping her maw down to the ground she saw it go right to her maw and rest its little paws on her and a sensation of calm rushed through her system. Though, she was still as confused as she could be she was willing to accept the help of this new being into this dark and violent world. Anything that helped was welcome. And so the world had a new light in the dim situation... [/blockquote] ==Into the Mind . 1156 words . 2 characters is complicated... . Like gone speed me up, got deadline, cause you need me done I hate your type, I love you too, I bite your swag, cause I wanna do you 'Hello?' Shae's ears swivled to a mocking voice. 'That's just not safe' The new stag lowered his head, his ears pinned and he nipped at her shoulder, grabbing and pulling some of her mane. Shae snorted and pinned her ears, and he he tapped her her side before moving towards the other two equines.
Shae pulled herself up and catiously walked towards the new stag. '... Don't trust the dark....' Was all Shae's ears caught of his words. What? Don't trust the dark? Who would? Shae didn't mind the dark but would never trust it.
The mare's voice cut through the dark. 'Wh-who's t-the-there?!' And then, before Shae could answer a glowing transperant rabbit came bounding forward, giving off a soft blue hue and lighting up where the four of them stood. Her eyes followed the small object. 'Come closer, little rabbit....' The mare cooed, and it hopped forward. Shae snorted uneasilly. Could the thing be trusted? But before she could think any more of it another appeared. A transperant glowing coyote with a trickster grin on his face. It trotted forward, in the middle of all of them, before turning and looking at Shae. Shae's ears dropped a little, a warning, but the coyote ignored it and bounded towards her, running through the stag that had mocked them all, before stopping in front of her, illuminating her Silver Pangare Bay coat, like a spotlight. It's light was bigger then the rabbit, because it was bigger then it, and illuminated all of them, and most of the clearing. The coyote swivled it's head around to look at the small rabbit before looking at Shae again and touching his nose to her dark leg, and a warm clam filling filled her, her mind blank and her thoughts easy, before pulling away and looking at her. It smiled up at her and Shae smiled back, nipping at it's ears, but her mouth touched nothing, just the same warm feeling. Interesting. The coyote trotted around the clearing, illuminating things nearest it and Shae watched it curiously. Thoughts of her own and the coyote's filled her mind. They could read each others thoughts?! Shae saw the Coyote nod from where he loped gracefully, his feet not even touching the ground, making less then a whisper. This was all new, and all exciting. Two new glowing figures, at least it wasn't dark anymore, and Shae could clearly see the other three equines. Two stags and a mare. Shae nickered as the coyote came back to her, and stood in front of her, its glow felt warm against her neck and chest, but not as warm as his touch. Her eyes glinted in the light as she watched the other three equines... how would they react to the two new glowing figures that stood in the clearing with them?

LAOCH
"Lao! Laaaoo!" a mocking voice screeched as he reached Repla. Laoch stared into the blackness, barely making out a lighter shade of gray in the mist. The voice spoke again, dripping with sarcasm. "I'm assuming you would be the ever so glorious Lao," he (for this most definitely was a stag) whined before proceeding to echo him again. The warrior resisted the urge to turn and walk away. If it weren't for Repla... It had been so long since he had heard the taunts of a sassy youngster. No matter. As long as he didn't hurt Repla. He did not bother answering as the keeper of the voice, a tall, spotted stallion, emerged from the gloom. Instead, he eyed him calmly, still standing protectively close to Repla. "This would be how you go about getting yourselves killed, my pretty, innocent darlings..." The stag was still talking, speaking as if he had the experience of a seasoned fighter but the arrogance of a yearling colt. Other than flicking an unconcerned ear towards him, Lao ignored him. Repla was more important. "What is it, Repla?" he murmured, lowering his head to her ear. "Are you all right?" The leopard stag began to circle them like a wolf, purposely letting his tail swipe Repla's small body. Laoch looked up with a warning glance. This imbecile had better not try anything. And suddenly, the stalllion's muzzle reached out to snap at Repla's face, drawing away with a bloody mouth. Equally swiftly, Laoch's ears had pinned and he came at the intruder with gaping mouth, darting out his head and nipping him hard on the ear before the other danced away. "Whoever you may be, stranger, I would not try that again." Returning his attention to his shaking mate, he silently wiped away the blood. "Come Repla. Perhaps it would be best if we left this fool to his own devices..." But Repla was not listening. Her eyes had gone bright, and he heard her faintly whisper, "Come closer, little rabbit..." What? He looked around, searching in vain for the animal she spoke of. There was no rabbit! Fearing that she might be too frightened to think clearly, he nudged her more insistently. No use staying out on a night like this anyway.

If you ever leave me baby leave some morphine at my door because it'll take a whole lot of medication... Rhise let out a low laugh, not even caring that his tip of his ear was bleeding. Looking over at the new appearances of light he spoke, "Looks like ghosts are here to haunt you," and then, he stepped over towards Shae and bopped his head against her shoulder, stepping through the wolf, becoming immediately illuminated in the wolves light. "Going to have it attack?" he sneered with a snort, looking over towards the other stag and swishing his tail, allowing it to hit the red roan in the nose. With another laugh he snipped at the bay and grasped her mane again, tugging upon it with certainty and then drudging back a little bit so that he was out of kicking range of this other stag. In his fury, he saw the rabbit and attempted to stomp at it, only to have his hooves go straight through it, seemingly disappearing into a quiet mist, part of the light disappearing from the land. A thought then reached his mind. Destroy the light. And immediately, he reared up and aimed to land his hooves upon the coyote which stood before the four of them. Getting rid of the light seemed like an amazing idea, a totally amazing idea. And... he would use it to his advantage... [/blockquote] ... to realize what we used to have we don't have it anymore. There's no religion that can save me no matter how long my knees are on the floor... The red roan shifted her body, turning towards Lao. What was he doing?! Didn't he notice the rabbit that was right in front of them? Why was he nudging her away from the rabbit. It was a beautiful rabbit, and she wanted it to stay near. Nothing was nearly as scary here as long as the rabbit was here. And then, that coyote. That beautiful coyote. She flicked her ears up just in time to see that white and black speckled stag rearing up right before her eyes. Immediately, she shuffled behind Lao, burying her head between his barrel and elbow and she closed her eyes, feeling a bit of pain sifting through her system as the rabbit swirled up in a ball of smoke. Then, it reappeared below her again, stronger this time, touching her front leg once to calm her down. Which, she did. He seemed to have a horrible laughter in his eyes as he reared up, preparing to stamp down on the coyote and fear and horror struck her system. "Don't!" she called out, the wavering of her voice no longer existent as she stepped away from Lao and pinned her ears, the rabbit hopping up and down beside her, calling a warning to the coyote patronus nearby. "Don't you dare hurt that coyote." she demanded to the white stag, snapping out at him but missing him at the very last second to avoid being knocked in the head. "You will not be very happy soon," she warned him, her whole body reaching a defensive edge. One she hadn't even known she had. But, she felt a connection with this glowing animal. One that seemed to be attatched to the deepest corners of her soul, and if the coyote was the same to the other mare as this rabbit was to her than she needed to protect it also. "If you're going to hurt something then take me..." she offered, moving away from the group and off the side, waiting to see the stag's reaction to her offer...

I wanna run and hide, I do it every time You're killin' me now, and I won't be denied by you The animal inside of you The stallion let out a laugh, a cold, merciless sound. 'Looks like the ghosts are here to haunt you,' he said, then stepped towards her and hit his head against her shoulder, stepping through the coyote. Shae pinned her ears. 'Whats your point?' she snapped, her ears pinned against her skull, her eyes staring at him.
'Going to have it attack?' he said, sneering and laughing again. He snipped her shoulder and grabbed her mane again, yanking on it as he stepped back. Shae snorted and stomped her hoof, her mouth open. The coyote yipped. Let me get him? The stag looked down and stomped on the rabbit in fury, and it disolved, some of the light dissapearing from the clearing. And just as suddenly her reared up, and Shae knew he was going to make her light go away. The rabbit was trying to tel the coyote to move, as two other voices filled the silence, 'Don't! Don't you dare hurt that coyote. 'NO!' Shae screamed at the same time as the other mare and rabbit, and Shae jumped and slammed into him before he landed, and they both fell to the ground. Shae jumped up and pinned her ears. 'No.' The coyote bounded forward, its teeth bared. And Shae looked at him, Now. Get him now. While he is down. The coyote grinned, and leaped forward, sinking his teeth into his soft flesh before pulling back, his silver muzzle now darker and spattered, and blood ran down the stag's side as he stood up. Shae snorted and trotted past him, flicking her ebony tail in his face and standing a distance back in case he decided to attack her. The coyote stood at the end of the clearing, a silvery outline.
'You will not be very happy soon, and if your going to hurt something then take me...' she said, moving off to the side, waiting for the stag to react. Shae's ears flickered. 'No. You will not hurt her. She has a family. You will not hurt anyone,' she said, her voice strong, as she went and stood next to the mare, nudging her over to her mate. He was her mate right? Shae stood in front of them and the coyote came loping back to them, and Shae watched as it came, she felt as if it was attached to her, to her soul, and that she would know him forever. He came up to her, warming her belly and chest again and grinning up at her. Shae reached down and nudged it, well, nudged air, but she knew he felt it, because of the same warm feeling. The coyote's nose brushed her leg as it trotted past to stand next to the bunny, it looked as if he was saying thanks. Shae watched the spotted stallion catiously, what was he going to do next?

LAOCHIt all happened so fast. Before he knew what was going on, the stag was charging around in the darkness, seeming more insane by the second. There was another horse here, he realized, a mare, but before he had time to take this in, the stag had charged toward his mate, fury glinting in his eyes. He reared, flailing hooves and flying mane, and Lao stepped protectively in front of Repla, snaking his head at the assailant. However, the petite roan stepped out from behind him, not timid at all as she confronted the stranger, telling him...not to hurt the coyote?? What coyote? His ears flattened, seeking out the predator--Repla was telling him to take her instead?! "No!" he thundered, throwing himself between her and the insane appaloosa once more, as the new mare seemed to echo him. "Repla, are you crazy? What is going on here?" She didn't answer though, for out of nowhere, blood had appeared on the stranger's shoulder, bite marks from an invisible enemy...Lao forced himself to remain calm; he would defend Repla at all costs, and he would only focus on that. It was all too much for him right now. The world seemed to have gone mad, all illusion. The stag was capering around the grove, the new mare was shouting, Repla was standing up to this eerie stranger and everyone was going on about animals that simply weren't there. Yet they all seemed to see them. Was it he who was insane or they?

If I was you I would duck or get struck by lighting, fighters keep fighting put your lighters up, point 'em skyward 'uh... The stag shifted his weight after being brought to the ground by the surprise of the mare coming at him. Shaking his head he lazily got to his feet, obviously not effected by it all even though he had blood dripping down his side. A tiny laugh escaped his maw as he looked to the confused bay stag, illuminated blue but obviously not realizing it. "Oh. So you offer yourself up to me I see. I like that..." with a tiny chuckle he arrived at the roan's side and began to nudge her. "You have a family? How sweet. Too bad they can't stop me..." he said shaking his head and turning towards the other mare. "Fortunately for you, though, I don't intend on keeping you..." he finished off with a tiny smirk lifting the corner of his mouth, twisting his audits around. He began to take in the colouring of this mare with the odd, glowing coyote beside her. Stepping away to give her space he bobbed his head a bit lower and held it there for a few moments. "Just checking to see if the beautiful one was a weak and defenseless as I had presumed..." he said, low and calm. In fact his smooth voice seemed to have a hint of caring to it. Though, that could have easily been missed if one had not known this stag well. "But, alas, I have been proven wrong..." He shook his body, warming it up as a freezing wind began to blow in. Light was beginning to flood in between the trees, though the glowing animals didn't disappear, they just seemed to fade into the world a bit more. Confused, he backed up a couple more steps and awaited to see what the mare might say to him after lifting his head up and flicking his audits forwards, taking in the mare in this new light.
Heart beats fast. Colours and promises How to be brave? How can I love when I'm afraid to fall? Watching you stand alone, all of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow... Repla pulled herself back the minute she was nudged, all of her bravery immediately disappearing. She pulled herself back behind Lao and dropped her maw behind his shoulder, afraid of what this other stag was planning to do. "Too bad they can't stop me..." rang in her ears and she closed her eyes, the rabbit below her touching her body and sending her into calm. As soon as the other stag began to talk Repla turned to Lao. "I'm not crazy!" she complained, flicking her audits back a little in annoyance and then allowing them to return to their perky position. "Can't you see that coyote to the right of the mare, and the rabbit at my feet!" she asked, utterly confused. She tilted her head to the side and asked the rabbit to touch him inside of her head. "Can't you feel the rabbit?! That warmth?" she asked him, nudging his side as soon as the cold wind blew through and she began to freeze, huddling closer to him and watching the scene before them unfold. She was almost certain Lao was beginning to wonder if he had choosen a schizophrenic mare. And she wasn't. She knew she wasn't. But why couldn't he see these animals. Yes, it was a bit harder with the light that had come in. But, he should have been able to see them no problem in the complete darkness. "Lao. I'm not crazy..." she choked out, dropping her head down as far as it would go and allowing her forelock to cover her eyes as she fought back tears...
