Lia thought she had heard Keanu say something previously, a small ammount of tension hanging in the air, yet Lia excused it, whisking the thought away and returning the smile that grew on his face when she had sprayed him with snow. The owl swooped down, landing upon her withers and nipping at her mane. What are you doing? You can't possibly... like him, can you? You just met him! The owl regarded her carefully, branching out it's thoughts to hers, Lia snorted, annoyed with the owl, and she didn't answer.
Keanu nodded, the shook his head to her previous question. 'I'm not sure...but upon first glance I would say you would..stick yourself with it?' Lia thought through what he said curiously. Wouldn't that be... painful? "If you'd rather have one of the pairs, I don't mind." Lia said, giving him a small smile, she thought splitting them seemed just better, but, she didn't mind. Lia reached her head down, going to attempt it when the owl swooped, grabbing her two pieces and soaring up. Lia pinned her ears in annoyance, yet a laugh came from her lips, knowing it was a game. She reared up, reaching, before landing and running after the pesky owl, stretching her neck up, lipping at the owl. The owl turned and banked right hard, soaring into the forest. Lia stopped suddenly, eyeing the dreary foggy forest. She took a step back, shaking her head. Come back. I'm not going in there. It just doesn't feel... right. She thought, desperately waiting for a response but not getting one.
Oh, this was just great. She was the unluckiest person ever. She whinnied, fear straining her voice. She looked over at Keanu, tears threatening to come. her head dropped, and she watched the forest warily, backing up more. She heard a muffled cracking, and her head shot up, and she bolted over to Keanu, shaking, and pressing her face against his mane. "K-Keanu... I-I think theres something in t-there." She said, voice trembling. She couldn't reach her owl anymore, and she pressed closer to Keanu, tears threatening to force themselves on her face. She sucked in a breath, knowing she was over-reacting. "I'm probably just... overreacting." She said finally, hanging her head in embarrassment. She shivered, chills running down her spine as she looked at the dreary forest where the owl had slipped away to. She turned at looked at Keanu, remembering the presents the owl had took. She dismissed it, it was her fault for not telling the owl to stop. She nosed his neck, sleep starting to push the adrenaline away again, taking over her. She exhaled, wanting to sleep, but not knowing if she should. What if something else happened? She opened her mouth to ask Keanu, yet it closed slowly, her body falling into a deep slumber.
Lia glanced around the clearing, charred remnants if trees eerily stood on each side. A huge wave of deja vu ran through her, making her stop in her tracks. This is where she had been with Keanu about 6 months ago, all those terrible nights, and the night she had lost her owl. Her heart ached slightly, tears suddenly filling her eyes. She turned her head away, wiping away the tears against her pelt. She stepped forward, the once snowy meadow now full of dead grass that scraped at her long legs. It was as if another fire had hit this place. A shriek filled her thoughts, a shriek... of an owl! Lia turned her head suddenly towards the sound, eager. "Hello?" Lia asked, a grin plastered uppon her face, her eyes brightening as she thought she saw a ghostly figure weave through the trees. She took a step forward, her audits flicked forward, her stance relaxed. A giant ghostly lion ripped through the brush, snarling, running towards her. Lia's eyes flashed purple, and she shrieked in fear, rearing up, the whites of her eyes flashing. No. This wasn't happening. He couldn't be here. He had lost the war, forced back upon his own land and no one else's. He stepped forward, lazily smiling at her. 'You shouldn't believe what you hear, mon petite, I won, triumphant, taking all the lands, everyone know must bow down before me.' He said, turning and looking into her eyes. Her eyes shifted a hard steely red, "No. No you didn't. There is no way." Lia said, fumbling, trying to take it all in. 'Ah, but where is your proof? Lies, chéri, lies. Don't believe what you hear.' He said, mad eyes glinting ferociously. He stepped forward, watching her intently. His eye's bore into hers. Lifeless, soulless, emotionless. He tsked his tongue, circling her, brushing his maw against her coat a few times. Lia shivered and cringed away. Rama laughed, heartless, and glanced at his patronus. Lia bolted, frantically speeding forward in a way she never thought possible, faster and faster. Her muscles screamed against herself, but she pushed herself harder, racked high on fear and adrenaline. Her hooves beat against the ground, Rama's evil laugh lingering...
Lia's head shot up, breath quickening slightly. She had fallen asleep. She cursed silently to herself, lifting her cranium and looking at Keanu, "I'm sorry I feel asleep! I was just so tired!" Lia said, huffing as she realized her owl was really gone. She looked at the trees, and a small figure hooted, sitting on a branch, it's feathers ruffled. Lia's audits perked up. "Y-Your back!" she said gleefully, bounding forward much life a foal and the owl landed upon her nose, warmth spreading through her. She laughed, turning back to Keanu. The owl still held the delicate packages, and Lia bobbed her head. Maybe the owl or Keanu could help her 'place' them? She nickered, walking back over to Keanu and touching her maw to his softly, before pulling away and glancing at the owl, who shifted down onto her withers, resting against her neck.

There. You. Go. O.O... anyways, tried to make it somewhat-exciting, not boring. Also tried to add some cuteness x3

Keanu eyed the pieces of jewelry, not sure what to really make of them. She offered him one of the pairs, but he only shrugged. He didn't particularly care how they were split. The owl patronus glided down, picking up two of the items and flying away. Lia laughed, dancing forward to catch them. He stood where he was, watching their playful antics. He lowered his head, nosing at the snow gathered around his feet, his patronus appearing and hopping along his spine. If you left now, she probably wouldn't notice! it crooned, still trying to convince him to leave Laelius. Keanu snorted, shaking his head, turning to glare at the ghostly creature. His ears perked and he turned when Lia whinnied though, the sound tinged with fear rather than the happiness it should contain since she had been playing. His own axolotl disappeared, unhappy with Keanu. He trotted forward, seeing the frightened expression on her face. She turned away from him, eying the forest before turning and rushing towards him. He stopped advancing, her form slowing and then huddling against his own. She pressed her face against his neck and into his mane; he froze, unsure and confused at this casual touch, just like all of the others. It didn't make any sense to him. "K-Keanu... I-I think there's something in t-there," her speech interrupted his thought process. She pressed closer to him, obviously deeply frightened. He turned, brushing his nose against her neck. He didn't know what to say, so he said nothing. He turned his head back, looking into the forest that seemed to have frightened her, and although it was rather dark, he couldn't see anything out of the ordinary about it. "I'm probably just... overreacting," she said, pulling her head away and letting it hang close to the ground. He looked back at the trees quizzically, trying to see what might have frightened her, but still finding nothing. Though, there were other things that frightened him, he wasn't sure he would be able to pick out anything that would frighten others. Lia turned, looking at him and he brought his face back to look at her, wondering what she was going to say now. Though she just nosed his neck, sighing softly. Again, this confused him. Why did she continually touch him? And not negatively? It just didn't fit together. He saw her open her mouth, as if to say something, though it closed and she promptly fell asleep. He had told her to sleep before, but he hadn't realized how tired she really was. He immediately felt bad, knowing it was his fault. She had stayed up watching him all night and now she was exhausted. She was leaning against him just a little and he shifted, standing more solidly. This time he would stay awake while she slept, it seemed only fair.
Lia jolted awake, causing Keanu to jump to the side at the unexpected movement. Her breathing had increased while she dreampt, but not enough that he thought he should wake her for fear it was a nightmare. Though she seemed worried about other things, immediately apologizing for having fallen asleep. He shook his head, "It was quite alright; you needed to sleep," he assured her. The owl had flown back while she was sleeping, and she noticed it now, bounding forward joyfully. He glanced up at the sky, seeing the dark winter clouds mingling with the lighter spring clouds as the seasons began to shift. The two different clouds so close together was making him anxious, knowing that the hot and the cool temperatures would cause a tornado. It didn't appear too bad though, so he pushed the thoughts away. Lia nickered and he turned to look back at her, seeing that she was walking back to where he was standing. His eyes widened slightly as she touched her muzzle to his, then looking away. He froze, like the last time, afraid that the touch would be followed by something negative, reparation for hurting her before, but still it never came. He just didn't understand this! Why did she keep touching him? He hadn't done anything to deserve it, if anything he should be punished. For knocking her over, for sleeping when he shouldn't have, so many things, yet she didn't react the way he believed she should. It confused him so much. Was everyone this friendly? Was that the way things were supposed to be? He didn't think so, and he had definitely not experienced anything but the bad as he grew up. It just didn't make any sense to him.
The sky above them rumbled, and he glance upward, seeing that the clouds had grown darker, threatening to rain. Of course, it was Springtime now, it would rain. The raindrops began to fall, rapidly at first, the cold air turning some drops into hail as the fell to the Earth. Keanu pinned his ears, snorting and glaring at the sky. The weather was so flip-floppy. It was frustrating. As if to prove his point, the rains and hail stopped, an eerie calm settling across the land with the absence of sound. He glanced at Laelius, a confused it expression on his face. That was certainly strange. He turned, looking back at the sky, "I wonder why...." he started to say, but the words trailed off as he froze, looking at the clouds as they twisted, the funnel cloud appearing and shooting down to the ground, tearing into it and the nearby trees. He scrambled to the side, twisting around to look at Lia. A tornado?! The world really was against him, making him suffer through his life. He couldn't even imagine being sucked into the cyclone. Would his heart give out before the spinning stopped? Would he live to hit the ground? Where could they go to escape this?

'It was quite alright, you needed sleep' Keanu said softly as Lia bounded forward, her eyes shining bright gold now that her owl was back. Lia saw Keanu glance up at the sky, and she did so her self. The clouds darkened before her eyes, swirling and twisting dangerously, as if mocking them. Oh, this can't be happening again, Lia reassured herself. She placed her maw on his neck and his eyes widened as he froze. She looked away again at the clouds as they settled eerily, making it look like a dark smooth blanket.
There were no bird songs or scurry of small animals, and it became eerily silent and Lia watched the clouds wearily. The sky suddenly rumbled, making Lia jump a little out of her trance and her audits flicked back in fear as the clouds started to twist again, faster, dangerously close, forming and twisting. Mocking them, rumbling as it started to spit hail. The clouds connected, spinning and twirling into a violent rotating cyclone. Lia snorted, stepping back and leaning against Keanu. 'I wonder why....' Keanu started, but stopped, watching as the funnel grew longer. Oh, please don't let it touch the ground, please! Lia begged silently as the owl hooted, twittering and circling her head. But, as the raging moving funnel moved faster, it connected with the ground, spiraling and sitting there for a second before ripping up trees and starting to move. Lia threw back her head. "Keanu, we can't stay here or we'll die. We have to go, and it's now or never." Lia said, trying to stay calm, yet her voice betrayed that she was nowhere near calm. Lia grasped Keanu's white mane softly, tugging just the slightest as she started moving away, glancing back at the raging storm as rain started to pelt down. This could not be happening.
But it was. Lightning forked through the sky, blinding Lia momentarily as she reared up. "Keanu, run! Run! Run!" Lia screeched in terror, sobbing, eyes blurred from tears. She landed back on all fours and pressed her head against Keanu's shoulder, pushing as she took off, legs thundering underneath her, she pounded each slender leg down, slush, snow and mud spraying as she bolted- she almost knew they weren't going to live, but she wasn't going to give up this easily. She couldn't. After meeting Keanu- well she felt as if she had something to actually live for. Or, did she? Lia pushed the thoughts away, glancing to her side to see Keanu. Her mane and tail whipped back in the wind as she ran, she ran as fast as she could. Her muscles rippled under her pelt, stretching and pulling as she ran, pushing them as far as she could, she felt as if she was flying. WHen she looked back she could see the funnel approaching them easily, almost as if it was just walking along, laughing at them struggling to flee. Lia shifted to turn her head back except found her hoof catch in a tree root. Her eyes widened as she watch Keanu blow past her. It was like slow motion, as she struggled to unhook her leg, yet it was stuck and she slowly fell, her face connecting hard with the murky frozen ground, slamming hard with her speed, knocking her out as she hit the ground.
Keanu looked back, seeing her laying there, yet didn't stop, he just kept moving. Lia couldn't move- her legs were broken, and she watched in terror as the tornado moved closer, mocking her as it started to pul her towards it. She screamed, sobbing. "H-help! Please! Someone! Anyone!" Yet, her voice was drowned out as it picked her up, tossing her in its swirling mess, as rocks and trees slammed into her, scratching the skin off of her, stretching and pulling at her as she was forced in a tight circle. Just kill me, kill me now. Lia plead- yet she would not die, she was forced through this pain, all this bad karma from her parents would not ever give her peace. It was her damned parents fault. The tornado wrapped tightly around her, pushing her to the outside and throwing her out, causing her to fall limply through the air, as the ground came rushing up to meet her, darkness swallowing her again.-
Lia's eyes snapped open as she bolted upright, stumbling and forcing herself forward, it had been meer seconds she had been out- and her head pounded and her chest ached. She glanced back at the raging morphing storm as it tore up trees and giant rocks, spitting them out and lashing at new ones. Lia forced her legs to work, as she stumbled along, her head aching and pounding, yet she forced herself on, stretching out her legs, getting closer and closer to Keanu. She reached his hindquarters, allowing herself to slow slightly as she lagged and stumbled, her leg chest and head still aching from the fall. She cursed herself for that, if she hadn't of fallen she would of had a better chance of escaping the deadly storm- not that she had a great chance anyways. But, every little bit counts. She forced her legs to push her forward, reaching level with Keanu once again. She glanced back, the funnel seemed to slow- or it was probably just Lia, as her mind swirled and her eyes blurred on the edges. She most likely had a concussion from her fall. It seemed as if the storm was following them directly, moving when they did, shouldn't they just turn and run to the side, hoping it would just keep on going straight? It seemed as if it would work better. "Keanu, I have an idea-" Lia said, her ribs screaming as she ran, devoid of breath. "We should turn, to the side, and hope the tornado just keeps going straight." Lia heaved, hoping he would agree. Otherwise, she was sure the storm would catch them- they couldn't run forever.

text "speech" thoughts "other characters' speech"
It was all slow motion. The clouds coming together and swirling in the sky. The hot and cold convulging it what could be a deadly disaster. The funnel cloud forming and spiraling down to the ground. For a moment there was just complete silence, right before it hit the ground. A split second stretched into forever where he could do nothing to stop what was coming. And then, the air touched the ground and tore into it, and the world suddenly fast forwarded. Dirt and rock flew into the air and trees were ripped from their roots. He noticed the cries of animals in the forests as they were swept off their feet into their flying doom. It was chaos. He was vaguely aware of someone saying his name, something about dying. But his eyes were transfixed on the cyclone before him. There was panic in the voice that spoke, that called to him, but he barely recognized it. Now or never? He could register that the thing swirling in the sky was dangerous, but he wasn't reacting to it. He felt something pull at him, the voice now becoming a figure, another equine next to him, begging for him to more, to do something. Lighting struck the ground, for a moment he knew that was odd, but the flash made him jump and he turned, seeing a familar face. Oh yes! The voice, the paniced one, and the tugging; it was her. Lia. But now she was passed paniced, she was so afraid, terrorized, with the thought of something happening. The look in her eyes and the sound in her voice suddenly brought him back to reality. Yes. This was a tornado, and it was coming straight for them. They needed to run, to get away, before they were eaten up by the wind and tossed across the country. The mare pushed into him, and then turned and ran, and he followed, the tornado thundering after them.
He stretched out his legs, eating up the ground with long stride, going as fast as his legs could possibly take him. He could have been a race horse at this moment, rounding for the home stretch. He would have surely won. His forelegs stretched out with each stride, reaching as far as they could go and pounding into the earth underneath him, churning up dirt and sand and still melting mush from the winter. His hind legs stretched forward also, almost grazing his belly with each pump and barely missing his forelegs as they came down. Only sheer luck kept him from tripping over himself, breaking a leg, and then unable to save himself at all. His neck was stretched out, clear of his thundering legs. His nostrils flared with each stride, taking in as much air as he could to keep his heart pumping. His heart, it beat so loud in his ears. He knew he had never pushed himself as hard as he did now, trying, furiously, to somehow out run the tornado that ate up the ground behind him like breakfast, and he was lunch and Lia dinner, and the cyclone was very hungry. His mane and tail whipped behind him, streaming like and extension of his spine. His mane didn't even have the time to bounce back across his neck because he was moving so fast, just constantly whipping in the wind and only having enough bounce to beat back against his neck in sections, and only for a milisecond, leaving a stinging sensation where the strands had his skin. He hoped his bad leg would hold out, though all of this pounding it was going though. All it took was one misstep and he would twist it, and he would crumble to the ground, into the dirt, and then up into the sky as the tornado claimed him. Thats all it would take, just a couple seconds. He pushed faster, seeing Lia look back at him. He was grateful that she would run just as fast as he. That he didn't have to worry about her falling. But just then, she turned back to watch where she was going, and she fell, face first to the ground.
Keanu slid to a halt, twisting around and using the momentum that threatened to continue to carry him forward, to swing him around and send him in the opposite direction. "Lia!" He called, though before he was there she was already back onto her feet. For a moment he had been afraid she had knocked herself out, it had appeared that way, but she seemed fine after stumbling back to her feet. He breathed a sigh of relief, though one glance at the cyclone and the relief flooded away. He turned, picking up a trot and watching as Lia caught up with him. They moved slower this time, and she still stumbled, shaken from her fall. She forced herself to keep going though, and he did the same, staying just a little ahead of her, but constantly checking to make sure she was still there.
"Keanu, I have an idea. We should turn, to the side, and hope the tornado just keeps going straight." Why hadn't he thought of that before? He nodded, he slowed a stride, ending up beside her and motioning to the side as the veered in that direction. He was so out of breath, he couldn't even force himself to speak. He turned, looking over his head as the torndao continued, ripping through the ground they were just standing on and continuing down the path they would still be on if they hadn't moved. He slowed, watching as the funnel twisted to the side, destroying a clump of trees before it was sucked back up into the sky. He immediatly locked his legs, intending to stop and rest, though his hoof hit a patch of ice that had stubbornly remained through the winter and into spring time, covered with slush and sent him flying to the ground. He whinnied, the vertigo that came with falling so fast startling him, though it was a short trip to the ground. His head hit something hard and he groaned, rolling to the side before everything went black.
A laugh echoed off the black walls of his mind, causing an aching feeling. He opened his eyes to see the face that belonged to the laugh and shuddered, shifting and standing. "Hello my son!" She said, way too chiper and excited to see him. He glared at her, eyes narrowing and ears flattening. He, of course, was never happy to see her. "Awe, such hostility! What ever have I dont to deserve that?!" She smiled, and he knew that she was just playing with him. She knew exactly what she'd done to deserve such treatment from him. "I thought that I had finally gotten rid of you," he sighed, unhappy, but there was nothing he could do about it now. He was stuck here, talking to her, until she decided to leave and he was allowed to return to consciousness. She laughed at him though, finding his remark hilarious. "Gotten rid of me? As if! Never, my son. Never. I am part of you. A part you should very well learn to listen to." She growled at him, obviously unhappy with him, just as he was unhappy to be here at all. She was always haunting his dreams. Why wouldn't she go away? She shook her head, as if she could hear his thoughts. "I will never go away." And then she dove for him, and he had no time to react, and everything was black again.
He coughed, shifting on the ground and opening his eyes. Everything was blurry. He lifted his head, blinking before turning and seeing a figure standing next to him. It took a moment, but his eyes focused and he recognized the face staring down at him. Though, it didn't have the same feeling it did before. Suddenly, he wanted to lash out at her, to strike her and have her fall to the ground at his feet. He skittered away, jumping to his feet and fighting not to fall down again because the reaction was to fast. He shuddered, images of her dead on the ground flashing through his mind. And feelings...that he did not like. Pleasure in seeing her dead. He almost fell over again, shaking his head so forcefully that he almost lost his balance. She took a step toward him, worry crossing her face, and he jumped backward. "No!" He screamed the words, almost a plea, but a comand as well. His throat hurt from the volume but he couldn't help it. Not with those thoughts running through his head. He shook his head again and again, muttering 'No' over and over. He pivoted, thundering in the opposite direction. He could hear her call after him but all the sound of her voice brought to mind was killing her. The revulsion inside him was beat down by the pleasure of the thought and all he could do was run. Run before his sickening, diseased mind got the better of him and he turned around, extinguishing her life force because he just couldn't help it any longer. What was happening to him? What did Ember do?
