BONAPARTE
So there they were. Two small ledges, just barely wide enough to support a horse. Thankfully, neither he nor Amuna was very large or very tall, making it slightly less dangerous. He could see that she was nervous though, when she asked as to who should go first. "Don't worry," he called as he clambered up onto the first ledge. It held his weight. He moved to the second ledge, stretching carefully to keep his balance. Now if only there were one last...there. His muzzle brushed against a bit of loose snow nearer to the top, revealing a final, very small ledge. Hopping awkwardly down into the snow again, he gestured to Amuna to ascend. "It seems safe enough," he concluded, hoping nothing else went wrong. Now just let her be able to get out...he felt slightly guilty, for he seemed to have been the one to get her into this mess, beginning with unitentionally tripping her, and most recently by sliding down to socialize when what she needed was help. "After you..."
--behind the post-- sorry it took a few days! school's starting back up again, and I can't be as prompt D:

Amuna watched as Bon carefully made his way up, hopping from ledge to ledge. She saw him knock off the rock to reveal a third ledge, one near the top. She breathed a sigh of relief, seeing that there were now enough hoof-holds to get out. Looking at the third ledge however, she noticed that it was substantially smaller and more precarious-looking than the others and swallowed hard. She could not squelch the ignoble hope that maybe Bon would decide to test it out himself. Suddenly, the idea of being last did not seem nearly as intimidating to her. But no, he was coming down now, and with one final leap he landed beside her. "After you..."Amuna eyed him, swallowing again. She wanted to wait and see if he would reconsider, but not wanting to be wimp, finally turned towards the boulder. It loomed in front of her, towering towards the sky. It was only way out. She shivered, then made a little leap at the first ledge. Her leap had been too cautious and she barely made it, scrabbling at the loose rock for a grip. The second ledge was a bit higher than the first had been, but she was confident she could make it. Just put a bit more power into her leap for it and she would make it easily. Taking a deep breath, she launched, grabbed, and landed soundly. So far so good. The third ledge was closer than the others had been, but seeing it directly did nothing to ease Amuna’s fears. It looked so unstable and thin. She made the mistake of glancing down at Bon for reassurance, sharply sucking in her breath as she saw how far she would have to drop if the ledge gave way. It was not an inviting prospect. Her heart racing, she gathered herself, gauged the distance…and could not force her trembling legs to propel her to the final ledge. She inwardly scolded herself, knowing that a slight misstep could be very painful. Knocking knees would almost insure that she would make a mistake. Inhale. Exhale. She breathed deeply, then readied herself again. She could do this. She landed easily on the ledge, having judged the distance perfectly. Now all she had to do was make the final leap to the top. Not wanting to remain on the ledge, little more than a small outcropping of rock, she immediately jumped to the summit of the boulder. Panting, she stood triumphantly at the top, crying, “Come on Bon, that was fun!” The words were hardly out of her mouth when a small pebble fell on his head, glancing off his skull and onto the slushy snow beneath him. Then two more fell in the same manner. And more. In horror, Amuna looked down to see tiny cracks spreading through the smallest ledge. What had she done? “Bon hurry! I think the ledge is cracking – it’s falling apart!” she screamed, backing away.
.......... Uh-oh, Bon's in trouble!

BONAPARTE
Clonk.
The pebble made a hollow sound as it bounced off of his skull, landing in the slush at his feet. He felt something warm on his forehead, a trickle of blood beginning to trail its way down towards his right eye. He looked up in time to be caught in a shower of more pebbles. "Bon hurry!" he heard Amuna scream from the top, but he didn't dare look upwards again, as a few rocks were still tumbling down. Instinctively, he knew something was wrong. Very, very wrong. Adrenaline drove him forwards as he leaped onto the first ledge. The miniature storm of pebbles rained down again from above, and he pressed as close to the wet wall as possible in an attempt to avoid them. What was going on? As if to confirm his growing dread, he heard Amuna call frantically, "I think the ledge is cracking – it’s falling apart!” Bon finally glanced up, and what he saw made his heart plummet. The final ledge had fissures running over its surface, and it was tilting dangerously. Now he saw what held it in place--a tree growing just beyond the boulder had stretched its roots, wrapping part of the ledge close to the main body of rock. But now it had come dislodged, and only a few weak roots held the whole thing in place. One by one, pebbles were sliding down, and at any moment, he could tell that larger rocks would begin to fall. "Amuna--get away from the edge!" he bellowed, startling himself with the volume and power of his own voice. He couldn't die like this; he had to get to Rasta. He wouldn't die like this; he must find the queen. Decision made, Bon exploded off of the first ledge, propelling himself towards the second. He landed squarely, feverishly hoping that this one wouldn't give way too. Bon could hear his heart beating furiously, the blood rushing in his ears. Don't think about it. It's the only way out. The only way to Rasta.
The bay stag inhaled and hurtled off of the ledge. Searching frantically, his back hooves reached for the crumbling surface. If by some miracle, he timed it perfectly, he'd escape with his life. As he flew through the air, time slowed. As if stirred by the intensity of the situation, snippets of the Dream resurfaced, playing through his mind like a movie in fast forward.
...he was airborne, hurled into the sky by a force that seemed to come from alongside him. His legs still churned under him as he was propelled higher and higher into the clouds. Out of the corner of his eyes, he glimpsed two feathery appendages, the same deep bay as his own coat...Whinnying in joy, he wheeled, wings flapping furiously and hooves pounding into cotton candy clouds...
His hooves touched down on the ruined ledge, miraculously finding a foothold. Bam..Bon pushed down hard with his back legs, throwing all of his effort into what was his last hope...
...he had never been happier. But something was different, something was missing…he was alone. He searched the skies, looking for another equine, but his gaze was met with emptiness. Not even a wayward hawk crossed his path. He began to fall now as his despair hit him, desperately flapping his wings without any result. The ground as coming closer…closer…he struggled alone, screaming in fear...
No. He would not die. Bon's hooves scrabbled at the edge of the small cliff. This was not that Dream. With a mighty thrust, he heaved himself over the edge, throwing himself into safety...and into Amuna. The force of his actions had pushed him to where she had been standing. And as they lay in a tangled heap on the ground, his chest heaving, Bon closed his eyes. This was not the Dream. He had not fallen. And he was not alone.
--behind the post-- so, Bon had a very vivid dream a while back in another post...in that section of it, basically, he was flying and started falling, then this lady pegasus came and saved him. Long story. But it's a very powerful driving force in his life, so I thought I'd explain XD

Amuna, torn between whether to run from the horrible scene below her or stay and help, shied and danced at the edge, finally backing a little way off tpo firmer footing but close enough that she could still reach Bon in time in case something awful happened. But what could she do? She could hardly hurl herself down to him, for then they would both be trapped again. She found that she was crying silently, tears momentarily blinding her vision, and she dashed them off angrily. She had to do something! Now he was thrashing dangerously on the crumbling ledge, trying to find enough of a hold to propel himself up to safety. Amuna, unsure of whether to get off the rock as to give him a the whole top of the boulder to land upon or to try and haul him up somehow, froze trembling. She could not seem to force herself to move, to make a decision. She did not see his bay form coming, flying through the air in a majestic leap until he was nearly on top of her. They crashed together in a tumble of bodies, finally rolling off the boulder and into a patch of cushiony snow on the other side. Snow flew everywhere and Amuna coughed and choked, trying to spit out the dirt and slush out of her mouth. She tried to rise, accidentally kicked Bon in the face, and subsided, lying panting on the ground. She was about to make a second attempt at disentangling herself when a groaning, splashing sort of noise caught her attention. She looked over at the drift they had just escaped and saw that the hole they had carved out when they landed was filling rapidly, mounds of half-melted snow crashing from above. She shuddered, realizing what a near miss they had both escaped.

BONAPARTE
Warm. It was warm. The icy snow was piled underneath him, but here, he felt the heat of another body. Subconciously, his mind was drawn back to his foalhood, of fuzzy sleeping bodies all piled in a great heap. He remembered waking periodically to find one of his friend's long lashes flutter as he snored, or see another's long, gangly legs sprawled out in all directions, sometimes one vanishing beneath his own body. His brain reminder him of the lull of the herd's murmurs, seeing his mother grazing a little ways off, swishing her tail to keep off the flies...
But this was...different. His eyes flew open, scanning his surroundings rapidly. His boyhood friends were not sprawled over him, but Amuna. It was silent for a moment before their eyes met, both beginning to struggle to get up. Embarrassed, he attempted to slither out, but she had already hastily managed to rise. Bon grunted, preparing to heave himself up, when he saw Amuna slip, saw her back hoof coming....
The world plunged into darkness.
--behind the post-- he's knocked out XD

The way Bon slumped after she had accidently kicked him made Amuna turn back around to look at him. He lay motionless. She finally managed to struggle up, slipping and sliding on mud as she did so, and peered at him anxiously. She must have kicked him harder than she had known, for he seemed unconscious. What had she done? “Bon?” she whispered, “Bon are you okay?” No reply. Hardly believing that an accidental blow to the face could really knock him out, Amuna proceeded to nudge him with her hoof. Anxiety gave way to slight annoyance when he did not move. Had she really knocked him out? Despite all they had gone through together, Amuna found herself beginning feel annoyed with him. He had escaped the drift with her, successfully navigating the crumbling ledge and leaping to safety, and now he was out cold because she had accidently kicked him. She huffed a sigh, and switched her tail. “Wimp,” she grumbled under her breath. But looking at him, she began to regret her impatient feelings, as he lay so helpless on the snow. Not for the first time that day, she had to fight back the urge to break down and cry. She bit her lower lip and stared down at him, wondering what to do.

BONAPARTE
Pink and red, pink and red pulsed before his eyes before he opened them. And then all he saw was white.
He was lying in the snow, glancing up into the face of...Amuna? Scrambling onto his chest, he looked around confusedly. "Whaa...What happened?" he managed, realizing that they weren't in the drift any longer. His head was throbbing the tiniest bit, and he suddenly remembered the falling rocks...and jumping...after that though, the memories stopped. "Er...how long was I...?" he asked her with a bit of embarrassment, hoping that it hadn't been long. Experimentally, he rubbed his forehead slightly in the snow beside him, trying to alleviate the throbbing. Judging from the feel, it had begun to swell a little. Most likely a rock, he concluded to himself, considering himself lucky that it hadn't been worse. Bon hoped that he didn't look too grotesque to Amuna; he had no idea how big the swelling was and whether or not it was bleeding. Unsteadily, he scrambled to his feet, almost falling off balance and into her, but catching himself in the nick of time. He had to...he had to get to Rasta...However, he soon sank to his belly once again. As much as he wanted to, there was no way he'd be able to get to her tonight. Bon realized that he was quite worn out from the whole ordeal. Blinking sleepily, he managed to rise clumsily again, saying to Amuna, "I'm sorry for getting you into that whole mess. Not exactly the best way to meet someone," he laughed softly, stifling a yawn.
--behind the post-- so Bon doesn't remember running into her. He was only out for about 3 minutes. I won't be able to reply again until Friday, so take your time!

Good, he was coming to. He mumbled something under his breath, sounding confused. Amuna bent closer, ears cocked. She watched anxiously as he rubbed his head on the snow, a large bruise already beginning to form. She bit her lip in remorse when he attempted to get up, faltered, and went down again. “Here, let me help you up!” she exclaimed, but he had already risen, standing unsteadily. "I'm sorry for getting you into that whole mess. Not exactly the best way to meet someone," he said. Amuna blinked at him in astonishment. Getting her into the mess? What was he talking about? “No, Bon,” she began, quavered, and found she could not finish. Taking a deep breath she looked up at him sadly. “I was the one that knocked you out. I…I kicked you, accidently of course, and…” She broke off again with a sob, finally saying, “Now look what I’ve done!” ........... Sorry it's short.

BONAPARTE
"No, Bon...I was the one that knocked you out. I…I kicked you, accidently of course, and…now look what I've done!”
Amuna choked back a sob, and gently, from where he lay, he reached out, touching the fetlock of her nearest foreleg in what he hoped was a comforting manner. He couldn't remember her kicking him, there must be some misunderstanding..."Not at all," he murmured worriedly, not wanting her to be upset. "Don't worry about me, Moon. I just need--"he paused to stifle a yawn, "--I just need to rest..."
Bon closed his eyes briefly, wondering what he could say to convince her that it wasn't her fault. "Don't worry about me," he repeated softly, but firmly. "I'll be fine." Suddenly realizing that she might be injured too, he jerked his eyes open, scanning her frame anxiously. If she had kicked him as she said she had, he must've stumbled into her...how embarrassing! "Moon? I'm sorry for anything I might've done today. After jumping off of the ledge, I don't remember much...are you hurt?"
--behind the post-- so short! just like Bon Bon, hahaha. I'll try to get them a little longer in the future!

Amuna looked at Bon out of sad out of sad eyes as he tried to convince her that she hadn’t done anything. Of course she had. She had been the one to be clumsy and trip over him. She had been the one to get in his way when he jumped out of the drift. She had also been the one who knocked him out. Sometimes, it just seemed like she could not do anything right. The thought bothered her and she lowered her head, ashamed. Bon was talking again and she glanced at him in surprise. "Moon? I'm sorry for anything I might've done today. After jumping off of the ledge, I don't remember much...are you hurt?"“Oh Bon,” she said quietly, "how can you think that you’ve done anything? I was the one who got in your way when you made that spectacular leap. Don’t worry about my health either, because I’m fine.” She smiled shakily at him, looking down to where he lay. She decided that she liked this stallion quite a bit. She disliked the ones who were always teasing her, laughing at her dreamy and consequently clumsy nature. But Bon was different, so sweetly sincere. .......... 200 words exact...creepy!
