BONAPARTE
He felt her butterfly touch, the flutter of her eyelashes against his skin, then the firmer pressure of her muzzle against him, and he swore that she could feel his heart racing. He felt her smile into his coat as she gently urged him on. He felt the small puffs of air from her nostrils quicken, and realized that her breathing had sped up and that his own matched it, perfectly in sync. And…in that moment, Bon felt it—undeniable, unmistakable love. Maybe it was much too soon, and maybe they were much too young, but this was happening, and he had no control over it. Maybe he was rushing into a broken heart, but he suddenly, he couldn’t stand here one more second with her so close and not knowing how he felt.
Bon wanted to shout it from the mountaintops, let it echo in the valleys, but a sudden wave of shyness let a whisper suffice. ”You’re the only one I’ve ever loved,” he murmured in her ear. ”I…I love you.” No excuses, no hasty explanations. A simple confession. And for once, it was enough.
--behind the post— -dies of joy- I’m so sorry for that horrible long wait! [/size]

Amuna felt her jaw drop and her eyes pop open. She stared at Bon wide eyed, drawing herself up to look at him. With an effort, she closed her mouth. Once her brain wasfunctioning sufficiently to think, all that ran through her mind was, this is the best thing that has ever happened to me. She drew in a breath to respond, but the words didn't come. She tried again and still ended up staring at Bon mutely. Bon loved her. He loved her, silly little Amuna. Her, yes her! She had to resist the urge to look over her shoulder, to make sure he wasn't talking to someone else. But no, who else could he be refering to? He meant her! Finally she managed to reply, in a whisper even softer than Bon's "This has to be the best day of my life. Because I...well, I happen to love you too and I..." Her words tangled over each other in her haste to get them out and she ended up staring at Bon wide eyed, just like before. She was the only one, ever! She was the first! She felt that she had to communicate the like to Bon, so managed to stutter, "And I haven't loved anybody else either, I mean except for you!"

BONAPARTE
Bon’s heart seemed to be leaping about inside him as he waited for her response, longing to fly but tethered inside him by a thin thread of apprehension. Had he spoken to soon? Had her playful teasing been just that—teasing? Luckily for Bon, he was too young and inexperienced to suspect a mare of deliberately playing with his emotions, and luckily for Bon, Amuna was not that type of mare. If she had been, his heart would have surely crashed down, down, down in his cage of ribs and smashed into a million pieces against his breastbone—and as many know, the first heartbreak is the hardest to get over. But no, Amuna looked at him, big blue eyes wide and expressive. ”This has to be the best day of my life. Because I...well, I happen to love you too and I... I haven't loved anybody else either, I mean except for you!" She loved him! She loved him, she loved him, she loved…him. And in that instant, his heart grew wings and took flight, soaring high above the clouds. In his mind’s eye, he could see it take shape, form into his own bay figure…
He was flying, just like he’d been in that dream so many nights ago. He looked around, waiting for her, that mosaic mare to appear by his side, as she had in the dream…And suddenly she was there, wings pumping the air furiously next to his own. He couldn’t she her face until they wheeled, turning in sync. In his head, he broke into a smile as he realized that slowly, the mosaic mare was losing what had made her, well, a mosaic of breeds and colors. Her eyes became bright and blue, and her coat grew smooth and creamy—unmistakably Amuna. He had found her.
Bon’s vision (or daydream, he didn’t exactly know what to make of it) lasted only a second, but he felt his face break into a huge smile. ”You’re her, Amuna; you’re the one. I’ve been waiting for you, looking for you for the past four seasons…I can’t believe that you’re actually here, that I’ve found you!” He slowed, catching himself, realizing that without context, this probably made little to no sense to her. Bon laughed, pressing his forehead to her own, inky forelock mixing with her flaxen one. ”Nothing could make me happier than to hear you say that,” he whispered. ”Nothing in the world.”

Amuna inhaled a shaky breath, trying to get a grip on reality. She kept waiting to wake up, to find that really, this was all just an illusion. It was a struggle not to blink hard and shake her head, just to confirm that she really wasn’t dreaming. She suddenly felt dizzy, yet was ready to twirl in endless circles. His forelock, tangled with her own, felt so very tangible, like she could discern each individual strand brushing against her pink-tinted skin. Had he really been waiting for her, searching for her? How she wished that she could say the same of him, but do so would be to tell a lie and she regretted the fact. “Bon”, she began in a quavery voice, “I’m so glad that we love each other. To hear you say that I’m the one you’ve been waiting for is actually a bit intimidating, because, well, I’m just so imperfect and make stupid mistakes. Please don’t expect me to be your dream mare, because I’m…me, and me just isn’t anybody’s ideal. But you’re my ideal, and even if you aren’t perfect either, which I’m not quite convined that you aren’t, I’ll never mind if you mess up.” Amuna wasn’t even totally sure of what she was saying, but she knew that she had to communicate, somehow, that she was very imperfect, just in case Bon was under any false impressions. She knew though, that she would never doubt his love for her, no matter how many times she acted like…herself. And for that, she was prepared to love him forever too.

BONAPARTE Bon pricked his ears at the quiver in her voice. As she finished her little speech, he touched his muzzle to her own. ”Moon, you’re perfect to me because you’re imperfect. You’re you. I wouldn’t want anyone else. As for me…I’m almost as far from perfect as someone can get. I’m clumsy and awkward and half the time I don’t know what to say, or I don’t say it right, or I say it at the wrong time. I still…the fact that you’re willing to love me despite that…I still can’t believe it.” He paused, feeling her warm breath on his muzzle, and he pulled away gently, as if he were afraid to break her. She was such a gift; and he didn’t know what to do—he couldn’t bear the thought of ruining her, breaking her lest he let his touch linger too long on her pearly hide. ”And I’d never want to hurt you, Moon, but knowing me…I’ll probably mess up a lot. I’ll never love you any less—I…” he admitted shyly, ”I don’t know much about mares at all.” Bon ducked his head, a little embarrassed. He didn’t exactly know why he was telling her all of this, exposing all of his weaknesses. Maybe it was a test; or maybe it was just stupid. What if she decided that she didn’t want the real him? He looked up into her eyes hopefully. Bon trusted her.

Amuna couldn’t help but smile at the sweetness of his words. Every syllable falling upon her ears was music to her and she wished Bon would go on forever. Have his attention, his undivided attention was a miracle in and of itself, but that he was going so far as to tell her why her loved her so; why that was amazing! He finally stopped and she had to suppress a sigh of disappointment. She decided that he could listen to him forever, not even tlking about her, but just to her, would be enough. She finally replied, “I guess all I can say is what you’ve already said; your imperfectness is what endears me to you. After all, perfect equines would be pretty boring, I’d think. I certainly would feel uncomfortable, if nothing else. “ She giggled. “I'm glad you don't know much about mares, because if you said that you did, I'd have the impression that you were a flirt." She sobered after a moment and tenderly laid her cheek against Bon's neck for a long moment, perfectly content with life. .......................... Would you like to conclude this or is there anything more you want to do?
